Candidate Nalacko - she/her
It was good knowing she had friends in the Stands. She smiled at the wave from Nanuth. If she could wave to them she would. Could she throw them a tiny wave? Surely one of the dragons would see it? The candidatemaster wouldn't kick her out would he? But she was suppose to be focusing on the hatching. Nala sighed and kept her attention on the sands. She'd thank them later instead.
"Oh dear, we have a run away." Nala chuckled softly as Red/Green Present Egg went about.. well.... still egged. The little blue feet sticking out the bottom was adorable, but he'd need to work on that a tad more. She watched the eggs he blundered into to see if they would start hatching now. Indeed as Caroling Note went right into Elf Stocking, resulting in two greens now on the sands.
She smiled the smaller went right up to some candidates after stomping her feet at her green sister. Bronze, brown, blue, and green roamed the sands. Nala kept her eyes on all but the bronze, for surely he would not want her. She doubted the brown would either, but like Zamistia there was a small chance. Red and Green Striped Paper was now putting on a good show to join the rest of its siblings.
Christmas Tree proved itself into being a handsome bronze, and he was large. She watched as male candidates started to form a line to greet him. Would Juhvek go? Nala blinked in surprise as he offered them to go meet the bronze. He wouldn't...... She glanced toward the other girls then nodded and smiled. "I wouldn't mind if you wanted to." Nala wouldn't want to hold Juhvek back from his dragon! She nodded as Elibrie said he should go.
"I can watch them few minutes." She assured him. Snowflake made an impressively explosive entrance! Then Red/Green Striped Paper made his appearance and headed back to his shy blue brother. Adorable! She thought warm thoughts at the pair of blues. Finally a beautiful green came from String of Lights. She winced as Ding Dong's eyes went red and he bared his fangs at the boys. She hoped he wouldn't come over here and hurt Juhvek who was being nice to them.

Nashwa - she/her
"Well, would you look at that. Looks like a boys-only party out there now." Not a criticism, jist an observation she made with the smallest whisp of an amused smile. This was very definitely a High Reaches affair, from what she'd seen so far...which stood to reason, and she would never think to presume that it should not be. Their house, their prerogative to be as they were.
Meanwhile, the greens and blues continued to go about their own business and drawing a bit less attention to themselves. Well, aside from the blue from the Ding Dong egg. He looked to be a fine blue, but while their brief interaction had been pleasant, it had also been very obvious that they were not for each other.

Kyzier - Bronzeboy At Ruunan's wish for luck, Kyzier gave a grin. They'd be fine. If he was their dragon, they'd make sure they Impressed him; if he wasn't, then maybe being up here would be enough to draw the attention of their dragon either way.
Still, the bronze seemed to be speaking--just not to them. Very pointedly so, it seemed. Well, that made them all the more determined. They stood straight--they belonged here, they deserved to be on these sands. They had earned that right. They simply stood with the others who gathered, determined to prove their worth.
And why couldn't they Impress bronze? They weren't a boy, perhaps, but they weren't a girl, either, and that was absolutely certain. No one could chart their future but them--so they didn't think much of it. Trying for the largest dragon was hardly a difficult choice. They grinned widely, peering at the bronze. Oh, Faranth, he was so big. Imagine how massive he'd be fully grown!
--
Nyrida Nyrida nodded and watched as her conversational partner left her side, moving to stand before the bronze. It seemed that the bronze in question had called to the men; she supposed it was the ambition of many. She would be happier with a kind blue or green, naturally, so she kept her eyes closely on the others. She couldn't help but notice the other bronze--one with less fanfare, less attention. Why? Why had one demanded such attention, while the other hadn't? An interesting difference in leadership style, perhaps?

Ryala
Much to her surprise, the first green moved away from where she'd been. Oh, so she hadn't Impressed yet? Well, hopefully soon! She was a lovely little lady...
As the bright eyed beauty approached, Ryala was again surprised as the green stopped to talk to her. Delighted, she smiled. "I'm happy to see you too," she said, kneeling so the hatchling wouldn't have to look up quite so much. "It's been pretty good this evening, and made all the better by being able to see you and the others." She politely didn't mention that she hadn't called to the green though... because what if, somehow, she had? Just because it wasn't intentional, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Instead, she decided to ask a question of her own. "And how about you, have you met some nice people so far?" Not that she could imagine anyone being mean or rude to this cheerful darling!

Lauthisen
He barely had time to register the red eyes and wickedly sharp teeth before the blue charged him. For a moment, he saw a green dragonet bearing down on him, her claws and teeth ripping into his flesh--but there was no pain here, and the blue shoved him hard so he stumbled back and out of the line of boys.
I wouldn't have expected you to be one of them, Lauthisen. Don't tell me you'd rather have some overblown bronze than a magnificent blue. Your Othelloth won't stand for it. Royal blood runs through us all, I'd have you remember--and I am far more regal than any of those metallic brutes. Come. Let us away from this rabble--I had wanted nothing to do with them during the Touching, and I shall have nothing to do with them now.
In that moment, everything seemed to jolt into place. He could feel how deeply offended the young dragon was, the indignation, and the deep, near-overwhelming love he had for... him. Othelloth loved him with all of his hearts, even if he'd planted his feet to stare at him accusingly. The young man didn't hesitate for an instant, reaching out to press a palm against that dark blue hide. Of course I wouldn't. He thought almost incredulously, startled into a rasping laugh. Who needs a bronze when I have you?
The blue all but purred at that as he relaxed into the touch, knowing Lauthisen's words to be true. After all, they were destined for one another, and his lifemate never sought to sugarcoat the truth. His rider deserved so much more than to be saddled with a bronze. As I expected. There is no reason we should linger, mm?
Lauthisen turned to lift a hand to Rasthell before walking with Othelloth to the tables. He nodded slightly to the other Candida--Weyrlings, before focusing on feeding his starving lifemate. Maybe later, he'd feel a little overwhelmed at what had occured. Right now... everything just felt perfect--exactly as it should be.

Verica
At least that little feisty blue that wanted blood upon hatching was all up and impressed. Veri could breathe just a little bit easier she found, with it about to move off the sands with it's boy. Now that she thought about it, all the dragons had impressed to men so far. Not a girl or woman among them had found their match, though they had found claws. -This is a rather male loving set of hatchlings. I hope some girls get some love soon too.- she signaled to Vera with her hands, one eyebrow lifting as her smile turned wry.
Were there no girls out there that were worthy of these dragons? Seeing snowflake hatch as a pretty green girl had her giggle and try not to wiggle in place. Sure, there wasn't a gold but all the dragons were pretty and Veri wasn't really interested in a shining hide so much as personality. Or at least insomuch as she could just meet a dragon that would want her. But the new bronze that hatched wouldn't want her, she knew that much. So she focused on the others, the scared or sad, she couldn't tell really, the blue that had come along to rush him, the greens, the browns. Life's adventure was waiting for them!
---
Miela
Everything feeling comfortably numb was doing enough for Miela at the moment that she didn't bother to answer the healer's, to her anyway, random babble. Sure he was probably speaking rather well but her mind was only just coming back from being comfortably blank and getting to where she could understand her own thoughts. Not quite her own feelings just yet, but being able to think coherently again was lovely.
At least until she went to open her eyes and noticed that, no, it was just one eye now. It took everything she had not to scream out randomly, but another thought crossed her mind before the urge overtook her. Mother... had watched that. From her laying position, being stitched up and still not fully with all of her wits, she was able to reach out to Minion's frantic little mind and send him an image of her mother to find among the stands. At least the dim little thing could comfort her mother while she took stock of herself and tried to come to terms with her new situation.
Far above the sands a tiny brown fire lizard popped beside Mailse's head and settled down on her lap in a dopey heap of concern, rolling about so that his tail wrapped around her in a pseudo hug.

Tuelarua - HR Candidate, She/Her/Hers
Keeping a rogue eye on her friend, she’d been happy (and mildly relieved) that Ding Dong blue had found His amongst the gathered crowd for the bronzes. It was exciting to see the babies find their lifemates, and she settles back on her heels as she watches the little Snowman blue be pushed out by Red and Green Striped Paper Blue. Happy, warm thoughts flooding as she peered around at the rest of the hatchlings that were about the candidates.
-----------
Ahula - HR Candidate - She/Her
The spirited blue had impressed, and she can’t quite help but to sigh gently. Good. There had been a brief moment she worried he’d spent more energy on mauling, but -- that was no matter. All that mattered was focusing on the next hatchling. Ahula eyed the long line of boys that had gathered for the bronzes, turning to reply to Mel--
But Urzoh’s hand tugging her got her attention more, and with a small apologetic look, she stepped quickly to keep up with her friend. Yes, she could see much clearer now, and with the calm, she was happy to observe the little darlings from their better place in the sand. At least she could see them better now.
