He dodged left, then spun back to the right, falling to his knees behind a thick pine tree for cover from the wave of ghosts pouring out of the mountain. Raskal's head pounded from the shrieks and cries from the Ghastly and Haunter, sounding like nails on an endless chalkboard. He threw his hands up over his ears but it didn't healp, the sound was inside his head!
Chomp meanwhile tried just as desperately to fend off the attackers, each one delivering a short blast of dark energy as it flew past. The giant blue salamander was losing ground and its limbs were tiring as each attack it launched seemed less and less effective.
"We need to reach the others!" Raskal shouted. "Return Chomp!" He pointed Feraligatr's ball around the side of the tree and withdrew his partner for the time being, hoping the pokemon hadn't exhausted himself completely.
He stayed there for a moment, fighting the urge to scream under the pressure building in his head but just as suddenly as it had started, the attacks ceased. Raskal looked up into the sky to see the dark cloud of Ghastly and Haunter dissapearing into the night. He let out a sigh of relief and leaned against the tree a moment longer before snapping back to life.
"Blaine!" He shouted, suddenly remembering his course. The young trainer darted from the shelter provided by the large tree and ran with long strides to the edge of the cliff. He peered down over the ledge and saw Serena, locked in battle with Amaya and Lilly. It seemed as though the two girls had things under control, even beating back Reaper; not so easy a feat considering Raskal had helped train that one himself.
His expression turned from hope to sheer horror in a flash when he heard Serena issue her final command. He watched helplessly as Electrode practicaly boiled with raw power and even began to cry out in protest as it unleashed its stored up energy. His voice was drowned out though by the attack as white light flooded every inch of the battlefield, seering everything around with intense heat, while the thundering clap following the blast echoed outward, deafening his ears.
Raskal was thrown into the air violently as the weakly-packed ground beneath his feet crumbled and fell away from the rest of the cliff. All he knew then was the ringing in his ears and the wind whipping his tattered cloths around as he fell. His senses began to give out and shadows crept in around his eyes, tightening until unsonsciousness took hold completely and his limp body sailed down... down... down... into the waiting darkness.

a wave of light washed over morter as he exited the rock tunnel. the warmth of the sunlight felt good on his skin as he continued to run down the rocky mountain. Run with me Bellsprout Morter thought to his pokemon as he released it
"Bellsprout!" the pokemon called out as it started to run down the mountain along side its trainer
we should be at lavender town by nightfall Morter thought to his pokemon. The gastly's should be good for training Ivysaur and Xatu
"Bell!" It called out while consentrating on his footing, if he messed up while running at this speed he could easily die.
like promised they arrived at lavender town by nightfall.Bellsprout you did well todayMorter thought while returning the pokemon to its pokeball. He was tired as well but he couldn't show it because he still needed to train. gastlys came out into the town during the night and pokemon trainers liked to train with them. Ivysaur, Xatu! Time to train!

"Wake up!" The old man huffed. "I said wake up!" Armond Debrign stood over the boy in the center of the large room. He wasn't sure why his student had chosen the training room o all places to take a nap but he wasn't having any of it this morning.
"Get yer' arse up off the floor before I sweep you away with the rubbish!" Armond finished the threat with a short stomp to Silver's side, his thick leather bots fell heavily on the boy's ribs like a painful alarm clock.
When he saw the first signs of life reapear in the bo's eyes from such a rude awakening he crossed his massive forarms over his chest and stood there waiting for the little whep to stand. "What're yea doing sleeping in here boy?"

{(,_,,T+R,,_,)} Silver yawned and got up ignoring the now bleeding, skid-mark on his side. "I was training this mankey to be... less useless in battle." Silver said teary eyed, holding up a pokeball with the stronger looking pigmonkey inside. "It was my first assigned pokemon so I don't want it to suck." ((I'm going to speed my rank along to grunt status since its been like 4 months since we even heard about Silver))

"Well now ain't the time for that. I've been looking for you since breakfast. There's an assignment at the Prefect's office with yer name on it so get yer arse down to Regina's window and see what they want with you."
The old Rocket walked over to the shelf of pokeballs when he had finished berating the boy. He produced a dingy rag out of his back pocket and moved the step ladder over so that he could reach the top shelves more effectively.
"Don't forget yer moving up here today," Armond reminded Silver carelessly as he delicately lifted the first ball to clean. "Been a while since anyone showed enough skill to get to the top shelf." As he wiped away the many thick layers of dust, his eyes grew foggy and more than once he rubbed a sleeve acoss his face to clear them.

Master.
The hooded figure ignored the voice in his head and pushed it out through sheer willpower until again he heard the call.
Master I have done as you asked.
From behind his cold steel mask the man cracked the slightest of smiles. Ironic, it seemed to him, the pokemon's choice of words. Had he really asked then there would be no use for the mental intrusions. This Alakazam simply plucked the answers from his mind whenever its curiosity took hold, which was quite often as the days grew longer.
Giving in he finally allowed the persistant pokemon to enter his thoughts and scan his mind for his responce. Where is he now? The man thought.
Far from here where he cannot return.
Now he was growing impatient. This creature was deliberatley holding information from him. If only his own pyschic powers were stronger he would tear the words from Gimon's brain and be done with it. It did not matter though as long as the threat was neutralized and soon he allowed the next question to surface on his forethoughts.
And where is the book?
Gimon stepped forward from its shadowy hole in the rocks with a large leather bound tome in its clawed hands. It stared intensely at the cover trying to decipher what mysteries lay within its pages. Something was differant though. It was as though the book were pulsing with energy and intelligence of its own, though even the powerful mind of Alakazam could not read its patterns as he could a human's or even another pokemon's. Secretly wishing he had more time to disolve the barriers keeping him from the answers, the ancient pokemon silently handed the book over into the waiting hands of its master.
Well done my friend, the man thought clearly. He lifted the book up before his masked face and examined it greedily. Very well done.

{(,_,,T+R,,_,)} Silver was astounded at what he saw. He was always taught that crying is for women and children. yet there was a strong man crying in front of him. it was confusing. He didn't know what to say in a situation like this. so his instinctive reaction was to say: "Well I should get going." He said this as he got up and started to walk out of the room.

"Silver... Silver..." The old woman thumbed through her collection of papers looking for the one marked with the grunt's name. "Here we are!" Regina exclaimed, tearing a sheet from the pile and handing it across the window.
"You're to report Silph co. in Saffron City. Open this envelope for more information once you arrive. It will have your contact's name and further instructions." She slid the yellow envelope out the wondow as well and went back to shuffling her endless pile of papers.

Amaya's triumphant look quickly turned into surprise as she felt herself being pulled down by Lilly due to Serena's final command. "Abs! Pico! Vinny! Return now!" she called out as one by one they all returned inside their pokeballs. "It'll be a cold day in hell if I let one of those Rockets hurt my Pokemon" she thought to herself as she huddled close to her friend feeling a mixture of both horror and anger when the explosion came and shook the very foundations that they were on. Holding back a scream, she closed her eyes as the floor beneath her broke apart causing her to slip through Aurora's protective hold. Screaming now, Amaya used both arms to help protect her head as she roughly tumbled down the uneven battle ground. Making sure to keep her eyes shut, she tried ignoring the many sharp and jagged rocks that were stabbing into her skin. "Damn explosion" she thought to herself before having her fall being stopped by a tree that had stood firm and proud throughout the whole ordeal as she slammed painfully against it. "I think I heard something snap" thought Amaya as she lay motionless on the ground for a few seconds as she tried to gain back the breath she lost when she was stopped.
Gally had watched the final moments of the battle between his friends and the Rocket female with a look of painful concern before he made his choice. Hating himself for doing it, Gally stood where he was with Lux before he also was blown away by the explosion. He knew that Amaya would be safe in the end...and he still had Lux to protect at the moment.
Pushing the pain he was feeling to the back of his mind, he easily found Lux and grabbed a hold of the pokemon while looking franticly around for the human trainer. "I can't find him. Perhaps he wasn't caught?" thought Gally as he silently prayed for enough physic strength to save them both.
Closing his eyes, he hoped for a destination that wouldn't kill them as he pulled Lux's body protectively against his chest. A few moments later he yelled out in pain as his body hit the floor. "Ah...couldn't get away...just brought us closer to the ground" thought Gally as he began to lose consciousness. "At least...we're not splatter along the floor..." were his last thoughts before he entered inside a much needed deep sleep.

Silver walked out into the sun and immediatly felt the suns rays hit his black coat. Holy crap its hot Silver decided he would use the money to buy a new shirt. He walked into a doller shop and the cashier was immediatly stricken with fear. Silver walked over to the shirts and looked around. He saw what he wanted. It was a dark green tank top. He brought it over and reached into his backpocket to get his money. The cashier threw his hands up as if Silver was holding a gun to him. "what are you doing" Silver asked the teenager as he got out his wallet. "..." the teen was to scared to talk. " how much is it" Silver asked. "f...f...five d...dollers" studdered the casher "here you go." Silver said as he handed the money to him. then he rushed out the door and away from that akwared cowerd. Silver stuffed the grunt uniform in the bottem of his bag and changed into the new tanktop. he felt so much cooler. He pulled out his new stolen map of the country. He would have bought it but that guy annoyed him. It says that he should head up through diglettes cave thats fine by him. He needed to catch a few other pokemon anyways...

Coughing and sputtering Raskal exhaled his first breath of air. It ground against his throat and sawed his dried lips. Delerious to the fact that sand was encrusted into every pore he fought for another chest full of life.
His forehead and cheeks ached with a burning sting when he tried to brush the sand from his mouth. "Blasted..." Another violent cough cut short his words. "...straight to the beach."
He rolled over onto his back a few moments later. Defeat suddenly pained him. A gut sensation that the blast could have been deadlyfor any one of the troop wrenched him. All he could do was lay in the sand, battered and burned.
The sun continued to lick at his face until, remembering the perfect solution he sat upright and grabbed for his belt.
"Exeggutor should..."
He couldn't feel the fifth pokeball he had strapped there. His fingers dilligently counted over four small spheres, and knew at once his latest addition had been lost. Whether from Electrode going off in his face or by simply not fastening it correctly while trudging about Cinnabar, he hadn't an idea. Raskal then and there swore to find a better way to carry his pokemon. The belt was a relic from his past and been beaten and abused more often than its wearer. Once he got off this beach and into town again, he thought, it would be easy to change.
When the trainer turned his head to the right he had to squint for the sand seemed as bright as the sun. "Long way to anything on this side," he sarcasticaly stated to himself.
His head swiveled past his left shoulder and he was surprised to see the sand extending even further. "Low... tide?"
The heat once again began to tax him and in no condition to argue, he fell back on the sand, defeated.

Everything was dark. No light or signs of life could be seen anywhere. "Where am I? Who am I?" Those questions seemed to echo throughout the darkness. Suddenly, a sliver of light could be seen. He ran towards it, not knowing and not caring what was the source of that far away light.
Drake awoke, the bright fluorescent lighting of the hospital shining brightly. He looked around confused. There was an IV in his arm and electrocardiograph monitor attached to him. He glanced over, his belt with his Pokeballs were laying on a nearby chair.
Drake jerked his head around. Someone had entered the room. A doctor walked in. Tall and stoic. He looked a bit rough, like he did not want to be there. Must had been a long night. "Glad to see that you are awake," he said with a kind smile. "What happened and how did I get here?" he asked. The trainer was schocked. Was that his voice? It sounded rough. Like he had not used it in a few days.
"You were brought here by a Dragonite and an old man. You were in critical condition. A bullet wound to the chest almost ended you. Luckily, it missed your vital organs," he said. That's when everything came rushing back to Drake. "That crazy b*****d shot me," he muttered. "What was that?" the doctor asked. "Nothing, ummm, how long have I been here?" Drake asked.
"You were brought in last night," the doctor said. The youth sighed. "Are my Pokemon okay? Can I leave now?" he asked. "Your Pokemon are fine and I am afraid that I cannot allow that. We would like to keep you overnight," he replied. "I see," Drake said with a sigh. He was relieved to know that his Pokemon were okay, but he wished he did not have to stay in the hospital. They gave him the creeps.
"Thank you doctor," Drake said. "No problem," he replied. The doctor exited the room. The youth reached up and touched the bandaged area of his chest gingerly. He sighed once more and looked at the tv that was in his room. He had not even noticed it was on. They were talking about an explosion. Drake hoped that everyone was okay.

Raskal awoke suddenly to a rhythmic bouncing and a mouth full of feathers and sand. He lifted his head to see that he was tied with a thick rope around the waist to an akwardly positioned sadle. Never one to hesitate in the face of danger, he reached down to his belt, and considered it miraculous that his hands weren't bound. The knife at his side was buried beneath him and he struggled for a moment to free it before starting on the rope.
"No wait!" Came the muffled cry from above, but the trainer was already through the ropes and falling away onto the ground behind.
He landed in the cushioned embrace of a sand dune and tumbled for several moments before regaining his footing and turning to see his captor, already coming around in pursuit. In one fluid motion he stuffed the knife back into his belt and replaced it with a pokeball in his hand, ready to release Akaizashi and fight off the stranger.
"Stop! I'm not going to hurt you!" The rider of a particularly large Dodrio shouted from behind a cloth mask covering his head. Raskal stared hard at the stranger, focusing on the spot he knew the man's eyes to be, even though the mask had no eye holes to speak of.
"What do you want?" Raskal shouted back.
"You were passed out in the sands. I wasn't about to leave you there to be food for the Fearow!" The stranger lifted his mask and showed his face for the first time, his tanned skin suggesting he was no stranger to the overbearing sun. "Of course if you'd rather me be on my way..."
When he heard the unexpected answer, Raskal eased considerably and replaced the ball back onto his belt. "I should thank you then," he replied. "I thought for sure-"
"You thought the desert would surely claim you this day? Consider yourself lucky I happened along when I did," the stranger said with a smirk. He turned on his mount to face the setting sun. "Cooked by day or frozen by night, neither are pleasant ways to go should you choose to stay out here. Let us be gone, my home is not far."
Raskal nodded and aproached the Dodrio, whoes three heads seemed to be in agreement that having a second rider was not at all what it wanted. The stranger prodded the bird in the side with his boot and it grudgingly knelt down to allow Raskal up.
"Hold on!" The man warned after pulling the mask back over his face. Raskal had only a second to wrap his arms around the stranger's waist before the long-legged pokemon sprang into action, easily traversing the rolling dunes of the sun scortched desert.

Lilly held on tight to Aurora and Amaya, but her attempt to hold Amaya failed as she felt her friend slip through Auroar’s hold. She reached out to try and garb her friend back, “Ama…” ya…No! she couldn’t get the words out. The coordinator started to cough as the debris entered her mouth, her hand went limp, when she realized she couldn’t grab her friend. She winced, holding on tight to her Dargonair as the gadded rocks grazed her skin. Suddenly, she felt the ground under her break again. Lilly screamed in terror, she felt her hands slipping from her grip around Aurora. She felt a rock slam into her exposed leg. The coordinator let out a scream of pain, as her vision got cloudy, and fell into an unconscious daze.
Feeling the ground break again, Aurora, squeezed her coordinator tightly, making sure she wouldn’t fall. The Dragonair couldn’t fly up due to the falling rocks that were repeatedly, grazing her scales. Plus, she was too weak from the battle to attack the rocks. Due to protecting her friend, drops of blood dripped from her body, as gagged rocks stabbed into her. Aurora rolled down when the ground broke under them, keeping the unconscious, Lilly in a protective coil. Rocks pierced her more as she rolled down. Suddenly she let out a loud grunt as she felt herself being slammed into a sturdy rock. Aurora looked down at Lilly, a weak smile sprawled over her face, as her vision began to fade. The Dragonair grew limp, letting herself fall over her unconscious coordinator. She too became an unconscious heap.
Lux watched in horror at the explosion. The luxray bolted towards Lilly in attempts to protect her, but suddenly she felt the sharp rocks falling and piercing into her. Sadly her thunder powers couldn’t work on rock. She tried, surrounding her body with electricity to ward off the fall rocks but, Lux couldn’t. Suddenly she felt a large rock, slam against her head. The Luxray let out a loud yelp. She caught the sight of Lilly and Aurora sliding down, Lilly… she breathed, then she felt strong arms grab her and pull her close, but she could figure out who it was. She fell limp in Gally’s arms. Lux was out as well.
