So many people present left Henrietta feeling uncomfortable, but she was glad that Salieri was backing off from things. She looked over at Eunmi and shook her head. "I-i'm fine. It's just freak accidents," she said. It had to be a coincidence, right? There wasn't actually a way for this many things happening to be purposeful, right?

She stood up after letting Darumi down. He seemed out of it still. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at him. Darumaka normally moved about over and over again, but the air here didn't seem to be doing him much good. "N-now that Darumi is back I-i'm going to go train."

She looked up at the rest of the group. She wouldn't have minded training them if you cut the group in half, at least, but as it stood now she'd rather not be around so many people. Especially if they were worried about her, she didn't want that sort of attention.

"S-so I'll see you guys at the gym." If no one made to stop her, then, she'd head off.

((I'm not gonna lie, Henrietta's starting to annoy me with the 'H-hum I'ma g-go off o-on m-my o-own-" and then gets mauled/attacked/falls down a hole...))

"Beatdown is good," Eunmi nodded, thoughtfully trying to think of something else.

"Or Team Kickass. As in, we're gonna," Eunmi said.

[...Do you ever feel like you're surrounded by idiots?] D-Vee asked Wukong.

"Stay within earshot," Eunmi said to Henrietta, looking serious. "And that means enough distance for us to hear your pipsqueak shouts if you get in trouble."

((Luckily I have no such plans.))

Wukong sighed. D-Vee hit the nail on the head. [Ever since I joined this one,] he grumbled, jabbing his thumb at Salieri. She had yet to give him the power to get that world she had promised him. While he got along with Salem well enough, Liuye wasn't very social and Chen Zhen seemed to have some sort of problem with him. Even so, he'd bare through it. If Salieri had managed to beat him on her own, then she surely had to have some potential.

The Monferno intended to stick around as long as Salieri upheld her promise.

Looks like she's babysitting again, Salieri thought with mild amusement. It must have been some sort of curse that Henrietta carried. No one got into that much trouble without divine intervention.

"Team Kickass works too." She huffed, blowing her hair away from her eyes. It was finally dry after swimming in the lake. "Although I really don't care about opposing Team Plasma. I don't now what their deal is, maybe the guys we met were some rogue faction."

Although she disliked Bill and thought that Team Plasma was fishy, she didn't think they were out to cause harm as a majority. They seemed to have good intentions, even if they were kooky. Their petty crimes were annoying, but since they hadn't befallen her yet she didn't have a stake in fighting them.

"So long as Team Plasma stays out of my way, I'll be out of their hair. They just need to hand Bill over to me so I can One-Inch-Punch his lungs out."

Her announcing of the move was punctuated with the actual movement itself in the air next to Salieri, who still looked annoyed just thinking about the ginger grunt.

Bill sneezed.

Henrietta wandered off a bit. Not too far, of course, she she was out of earshot now. She look over her team of Pokemon. "The gym battle," she began as they all looked up at her, "is going to be two on two. S-so, if you guys want to fight it let me know. I'll need two volunteers."

Melty slid forward. He'd originally wanted to rest his days away, but since he'd been more and more exposed to the thrill of battle he'd gained an addiction to it.

Frate stepped forward as well, before Darumi could. Darumi had intended to, he'd already faced Lenora with N. He knew how it could be. Still, that didn't matter now. He looked at Frate.

"A-alright. So I'll focus on training you guys," she said. Then she looked at Darumi and Socant. "You guys just enjoy yourselves."

Socant skittered off then, to go hunting. Darumi, meanwhile, looked at Henrietta. The tension seemed gone, the air was more relaxed. Feeling a bit better, he would go to greet the wildlife around the area. With Henrietta she'd made the route Pokemon were enemy, he'd trained against them to master his moves. N was the opposite. The end result was that Darumi was more interested in making friends with wild pokemon than kicking their asses.

Back to the training, Henrietta looked at her two Pokemon. How long did they have? A few hours, tops, if she was going to try and get the badge quickly. How was she going to go about battling? Both Pokemon were pretty small, Melty was powerful but his defensive style relied on destroying attacks by force. Frate was the opposite, his list of moves were basic, but his defensive power was high.

"Sword and shield," Henrietta said then. It was an idea, Frate could protect Melty from damage. "Frate, we're going to work on your defenses, Melty, your offense." It was a simple strategy.

"Find wild Pokemon, start with one at a time and try to work your way up. Melty will attack, Frate you defend Melty. Harden your body as you go. Don't take any hits you don't have to take."

She sounded cruel, she thought, somewhere in the back of her mind. Still, it was a good strategy, she thought.

The two set out to train and Henrietta would supervise but she also had her own training to do. She regretted the dress she was in and quickly fished out a pair of jeans, feeling silly for letting Eunmi give her pants the other day when she hadn't actually needed to. Putting them on under the dress she'd start with her stretches. Then it was mental back pedaling to Eunmi's training the other day.

From the first thing she'd taught her onwards, if no one interrupted Henrietta would begin to go over the entire lesson again, trying to get what she had learned down properly. More confident about it now, it would be complete with higher "kiya"(sp?) sounds then yesterday. Of course, none high enough for other people to her her if they were making noises themselves.

"Bill? He's part of Plasma?" How peculiar.

"That guy packs a punch," Eunmi nodded, remembering their fight from the tournament. She winced as a reaction. "But I can't imagine you having trouble with him.

"You've been doing this a lot longer than me," Eunmi laughed. "So if I can beat him, you should be able to."

She knelt down to D-Vee's level.

"So are we gonna do this underwater training you mentioned, or just focus on Mach Punch?"

D-Vee meanwhile smiled sheepishly at Wukong.

[I'm sure she's not all that bad,] he laughed. He liked Salieri enough - she was silly sometimes, but she had a good heart, from what little he knew about her.

Phew And just like that, Avan was in the clear. Though he was now the suspicious one. Why wouldn't the girl care who her attacker was and just give up the hunt so easily? Oh well, why argue with a good thing, right? Or so Avan thought. I guess I'll have to watch mysel-

Wait, Team Beatdown? The name was silly, but had a certain charm to it. "I like the name." He said, trying to hide a small chuckle. It was nice to have found other who were against Plasma as well. Maybe it wouldn't be so impossible if there are others.

Avan put Baku's ball back in his bag and adjusted the strap to be a bit more comfortable. It was time to get done what he had set out to do that morning; sure it might have been in bad taste to beat the rap and run. "I think I'm gonna head out too...a bit more training to do."

The Battle Girl gave Avan a short wave goodbye. Pretty soon, it would just be her and Eunmi training again. Which was okay. She would have preferred to be able to teach everybody.

Salieri had forgotten that Eunmi had beaten Bill in the tournament. While she knew by Emi's logic that she should be able to beat Bill as well, the knowledge wasn't enough. She wanted to defeat him and see the look on his face.

"The underwater training is to increase the strength of their muscles," she explained as she lowered herself very slowly into a cat stance. "They wear weights and then have to fight against the pressure of the water. It slows them down." She began to slowly punch forward, pretending that she was struggling through lake water.

"And that way when they get back to the surface, they get a speed boost." To display what she meant, she doubled the speed of her punches until they became normal speed, and then doubled it again until her hands became a blur. With every punch she moved forward until she stopped with a palm strike inches away from Wukong's face. The Monferno was unflinching and unamused.

Salieri grinned, then returned to a normal standing position. "I thought Wukong needed more muscle control to use the technique, but that's not the problem. Being able to see at Mach Speed is the problem." She shrugged. "Or maybe we just have to put him underwater again."

Wukong gulped. As a Fire type, he opposed swimming. Although putting out the fire on his tail was not harmful, he still wasn't a very strong swimmer and didn't find it fun.

"It's up to you. Do you think your pokemon need the extra power? Or do you want to just get started on high speed movement?"

Chen Zhen watched as trainers began to leave. There was a big fuss over something with Henrietta before, but now that it was over people seemed to be parting their separate ways. The Pansage looked over to Liuye, who was just laying on his back and staring at the sky. [Hey, check this out.]

Vine Whips began seeping out of his wrist. Instead of two from each hand, three came out. They began to all weave together until the six whips were formed into a large lotus flower. [Pretty cool, huh? I can make two more vines now.]

Liuye shrugged. The more Vine Whips Chen Zhen could make meant the more versatility he had, and that his woven objects could become much denser. So far, he hadn't seen the combat applications of the weaving skill Chen Zhen was developing. Only lotus flowers.

[I bet Salem's gonna love this,] Chen Zhen muttered as the vines untangled and snapped back into his wrists almost instantly.

Oh right. That's why he'd been training. For Salem. Liuye wondered if he knew that Salem was still oblivious to Chen Zhen's infatuation.

So, Henrietta had given up wanting to figure out what happened. Well, these things happened. Luka tried to hide his disappointment, he'd really enjoyed the intellectual stimulation that had been kind of lacking these past few days. Still, he might as well train with these people for a bit.

He walked back over to his Pokémon who were happily chatting away. He sat down with them. "Okay. Here's how we're going to battle Lenora: Kai and Tayla are going to be the party members, sorry Squirt, because Kai has the type advantage and Tayla's Strings Combo should help us give Kai a better chance of getting in those much needed super effective hits. We need to come up with a team combo to make things a little easier."

Well, they could make use of Tayla's Protect and Kai's 'rollout'. Theoretically, it would be possible for Tayla to jump in her protect ball onto a rolling Kai and then launch herself off before doing Strings. It could work.

Ryan walked down from Pinwheel forest to Route 3. His arms were held up and behind his head. An Axew stood at his feet, trotting along beside him.

"Man I'm hungry," he complained. He'd camped out in the forest after coming down from Castelia, and his dinner had consisted of a few Oran berries and a Pecha berry that he managed to find.

"Xew Axe axe," the green dragon pokemon said. It held its own stomach, looking similiarly hungry.

"I know where I'm going," the boy said, looking up at the trees. He'd grown up in Fortree, it was only natural that he understood how to navigate in forest type settings and routes. "We found the route, didn't we?

"It's just taking longer than I thought -" He paused as they came around the bend and stumbled upon a two pokemon - a Roggenrola and a Litwick. Not far away was a girl. She made weird movements and sounds and he crossed his arms over his chest as he stared at her.

"What are you doing...?"

((Fixed it. Sorry.))

Eunmi looked down at D-Vee, tilting her head to the side as she observed him. She had always assumed D-Vee was a painter, not a fighter, but since they had started the journey, the Pokemon seemed excited by fighting. And the Pokedex displayed just how adept he was at it when he was with his old trainer.

So what was the focus? Speed or power? Eunmi really didn't know.

"What do you want to do?" Eunmi asked, holding out each of her hands. Lifting the left, she would say, "Speed," and then lifting the right, "or Power?"

D-Vee was by no means a weak Pokemon - he had training in both areas - but it had been a long time since he'd utilized them. He looked back at Wukong and then pressed his palm in Eunmi's left hand. For Wukong's sake, at the moment, D-Vee figured focusing on Speed would be fine.

"Speed it is then," Eunmi said cheerfully.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 16, 2011 3:07 pm

Wukong pumped his fist to his side. Excellent, that was the choice he wanted.

"Alright then, speed it is. So you said that D-Vee has Extremespeed, right?" Sal asked as she looked in her pokedex for the move. Her eyes widened as she read the description. "Wow, that's even faster than Salem's Quick Attack."

The Battle Girl's eyes shifted from the screen down at the painter pokemon. "So you can move that fast, huh? How do you see when you run that quickly? See, Wukong's eyes aren't used to speed he's moving yet. So what do you do to make it work, Deev?"

Ryan's presence startled her. She tensed up and jumped, messing up her kick. She'd manage to catch her balance and she'd spin around to face him, eyes wide with embarrassment, cheeks red. She wouldn't mind being caught training, but it was the whole 'did he hear me shouting?' thing that got her.

Ryan himself looked intimidating. Eunmi had gone for the styled hair look, with the colored lines. But she hadn't ended up looking how Ryan had. Probably because Henrietta found the other girl cute, Ryan looked more intimidating.

"T-t-t-t-t-training," she stuttered.
