((Artemis: I can help- Satoris: Forgot and alone forever...))
"I..have no clue," Eunmi said. Taking the pokedex out, the first one listed under Flying was 'Gust' - not a very powerful move, but it would do the trick, right?
"Hey, D-Vee, use Gust!"
D-Vee sighed. He would likely end up being the go-to Pokemon for training, wouldn't he?
He painted a spiral that looked like a simply drawn tornado. A gust of wind picked up and swirled around - D-Vee waved his arms around to keep control of its movements so it wouldn't actually hurt Wukong.

"Ah okay," he nodded. "Yeah, that works for me."
"Ax!" the Dragon pokemon cheered, but Ryan held out a hand.
"Not so hasty," he said. "I'm going to use Maugrim and Genbu for this."
He retrieved two poke balls from his belt and threw them up in the air. They popped open and two pokemon appeared. Maugrim, the Poocheyna, and Genbu, the Torkoal. They were more experienced, since Ryan had had them since he'd lived in Hoenn.

"Melty, Frate," Henrietta said and the two Pokemon looked over at her. "We're going to implement your training properly," she said. They'd only had ten or so minutes to get it down, but this would be a better course of action.
The two Pokemon moved to stand in front of her. The arena was the dirt road of route 3, not far off from the lake where Salieri and Eunmi were training.
"I-i'm ready," Henrietta said, giving Ryan the first move.

As the wind picked up, Wukong began to wince, and soon his eyes closed. Unmoving, he could feel Salieri's hand near his legs, tying him down with something. [What the-]
"There we go!" she yelled over the wind as she finished restraining his legs with seaweed from the lake so he couldn't move. The Battle Girl ran over to D-Vee's side so she could face Wukong from a distance and held up a bunch of rocks. "Wukong, you're only allowed to use Mach Punch here! Take down the rocks!"
[What're you-]
He was pelted in the face by a small rock.
[Ow! Hey!]
Salieri continued to throw rocks at Wukong, who bobbed and waved with eyes closed to try and avoid them unsuccessfully. She grinned throughout it. Sooner or later, he'd have to open his eyes to stop getting pelted.
And that moment came when Wukong briefly opened his eye and slung a punch, bursting one of the rocks coming at him into pieces. "It's working! Keep it up!" she yelled as she began to laugh maniacally, continuing to pelt her Monferno with stones while the monkey began to gather up the ability to open his eyes and take them down.

"This is a bit harsh..." Eunmi said, who was an inexperienced trainer. She took Taekwon-do this seriously, but never expected Pokemon to. D-Vee, however, kept up the Gust attack without question.
[I'm going to pick up the pace,] he said as a warning to Wukong as he pulled and pushed the Gust attack with his hands to make it faster.

"Oh yeah! Boost it up!" she yelled when the wind was sped up. Salieri ignored Eunmi's compassion and continued to laugh happily. If she thought that this was tough, she woud be appalled at the rest of Salieri's training regimen for her pokemon. Or how Salieri herself was trained. The way the Battle Girl saw it, there was no reason to sugar coat training. Battles weren't easy. Preparation for them shouldn't be either.
Wukong grit his teeth, angrily glaring through slit eyes at Salieri. But he nodded, accepting the increase of speed as the rocks came in faster. Now, the speeds of the wind matched what he experienced through his Mach Speed technique.
And his fists became orange blurs, darting back and forth in front of him at every stone in sight. The rocks turned to dust that was immediately blown away as the Monferno loudly roared, rapidly punching all that was in his way. Pretty soon, not a single rock was touching him.
Salieri lowered her arms, smiling as she dropped the rocks. She motioned for D-Vee to end the Gust. "Great, that was great."

((How do you guys use abilities?))
"Genbu, Smokescreen," he'd say, "Maugrim, use Taunt."
Maugrim howled as he used Taunt and white smoke erupted from the Torkoal's back, causing it to be very difficult to see.

"Smear smeargle," the pokemon nodded in thanks. Eunmi sat down, silent now that the gust had stopped. D-Vee seemed pleased with being able to help, and Wukong had gotten faster, even just a little.
"Should I be harder on them?"
Eunmi didn't know her stance as a trainer. She just wanted her Pokemon to like her. But not training them to be strong might get them hurt later.
"What do you think?" Eunmi asked, looking down at D-Vee, who had sat down next to her. "Would you wanna do that?"
[It wouldn't hurt,] the smeargle replied. [But I'd think it would be better to train my elemental punches. They're hard to start up without painting them.]
He looked hopeful, but he was almost positive she didn't know what he said - and even if she did, she probably still wouldn't understand.

((Depends on the ability. Quick Feet and White Smoke would work how they sound.))
Sealed off. Frate's ability to utilize Harden was gone for the moment. "The moment you can," she told her Pokemon who were riled up by the taunting, "use harden."
Then it began, obscured by the smoke were the two enemy Pokemon. Henrietta crossed her arms as she watched, becoming focused on the battle as she always did. She could lose herself in it, her timidness, her weakness. Just the battle, that's all she needed.
Intoxicating.
"Boulder Throw," Henrietta said. There was no such move, but Henrietta made up names for moves she didn't know. Rock Blast utilized bigger rocks, normally, than rock throw. Hence the name. Frate would blast the rocks into the smoke, to lure the enemy out of their obscured hiding spot, to force them to appear.
"Scary Blast when they come out," she told Melty. Her voice was calm, low, a whisper so that Ryan would have to strain to hear it.
And when the enemies jumped out, they would be bombarded with Night Shade.
((Night shade manifests as the target's greatest fear, by the way.))

"Use Genbu's Iron Defense, Maugrim," Ryan said. Poochyena would dive behind the tortoise's shell as it seemed to coat itself in a steel layer. The boulders would blast at him, but he endured the attacks with his strong defensive capabilities. It was similar to the girl's plan to use both offense and defense together.
"Switch," Ryan said, knowing the next attack would be coming from the ghost pokemon once the smoke began to clear. He didn't recognize the attacks she called out, but he assumed that it would be better to use Poochyena's typing to it's advantage. The dark type resisted the 'Scary Blast', wincing ever so slightly as Ryan called out, "Assurance!"
The dark type would run, quickly, a black sort of glow around him as he slashed forward at Melty, the smoke almost completey gone now.
((Manifests as it's fear? Does it still work with weakness and resistance?))

((Yeah, typing still works.))
"Frate," Henrietta said and the Roggenrolla would take the attack. He couldn't use Harden, though.
s**t. Frate thought as the attack crashed into him and he positioned his feet to brace against it. This was no good, without Harden he was weak. He was out of control, his mind everywhere. He needed to focus.
"Melty."
[Calm down.] A voice inside him spoke. At the exact same time as this happened(Maugrim hitting Frate, momentum had not ceased yet, the distance is absolutely none), a flame thrower would erupt from Frate, aiming to torch Maugrim on the spot.
It would appear as if Frate were using the Flame Thrower attack.
[I'll torch the ********!] shouted the voice from within Frate.

((Why are the pokemon talking in the middle of the battle?))
"Bulldoze," Ryan shouted. He knew that Maugrim would handle himself well, since Genbu was typically his training partner - flames were dangerous, but the Poochyena was well aware.
As he landed, attacking with astonish, Maugrim's paws struck dirt, kicking up a wave of Sand Attack. Maugrim's instincts were in play as he avoided most of the weakened flamethrower, but he could smell where some of the fur on his tail was singed. Genbu charged forward during the split-second Maugrim jumped to use Bulldoze, his feet crashing the ground. At this close range, Maugrim landed his jump on the torkoal's back and avoided damage from the earth-wrecking attack.

((Welcome to Legends. That's why.))
EDIT:
In all actuality, Avan had not gone very far from the small group that had gathered at the lake. It was a small clearing, not larger than a living room in a decent sized home.
The boy called out Baku and propped himself down on a rock that protruded from the ground. He recounted the events that happened not 20 minutes ago to the Munna. Baku was pleased to hear that.
Then began their training. Avan aimed for Baku to learn Magic Coat. And the way he had planned may have seemed a bit barbaric, but it was the only way he could figure out. Baku was to be bombarded with George's SuperSonic and Kali's Will-O-Wisp until he could manifest the move and reflect them back. Planning ahead, Avan brought along a bunch Full Heals.
((Blah, short and disappointing post is short and disappointing. But I'm gone for the night.))

((Pokemon have personalities.))
The sand attack was destroyed by the flamethrower, annihilating any accuracy reduction that might have occurred if it had actually hit. The enemy was retreating now, and the order was clear. The Torkoal was about to attack. Maugrum made his escape.
"Minimize and jump," Henrietta said quickly while the enemy was in the air. The problem now was with timing. Melty would minimize and emerge from his phased location, he had been hiding inside of Frate. Now he rested on top of the Pokemon as Frate prepared himself.
The Bulldoze came, the arena exploding into a thousand pieces, stone and dirt splintering under the force of Torkoal's power. Frate was in the air as the rocks came skyward, debris aiming to make up for the damage he had avoided with his jump. However, it wasn't like that at all in reality. This was ammo.
[Do it,] Melty said with a grin and Frate did just that, returning Torkoal's shattered arena back at him in the form of Rock Blast.
It was rapid, accurate and powerful. Frate had gotten better at the technique. Far more than five rocks would rain, all of them that came near Frate would, creating a boulder rain toward Torkoal and Poochyena.
