Karuto chuckled at her words and rose to exit "I guess that makes sense" He said as he pushed in his chair. "I hope to see you at the summit Lady Hokage" He said with a grin before bowing and making his exit from the room.
For him it had been two days and some change, but for Sanae it probably only had been a few minutes. Time is silly. Or was. Or will be. Either way, he poked his eyes and nose over the third story window sill of the Hokage's office, Kaoru patiently waiting on the ground and keeping an eye out. Or maybe she was bored. Hard to tell."Psst. PSSST. San."he barely tried to whisper, precariously balanced hoping he didn't fall and break his neck. He'd seen a few jutsu at the academy when he was young that, even now as a Jounin, he needed her permission to learn. Two of them, specifically."I need your go ahead for a couple thingus. Today was the big day! Kumiko had gotten herself all nice and prepared to go to the office and snatch up her headband after her genin training. She had made all the exact preparations. Making sure her alarm was set early to go and get her things, tiptoeing past a sleeping father, grabbing a pastry other way out! It was the best plan she could ever construct! It truly would have been amazing had any of it actually went anywhere. Instead, the academy graduate would have overslept and been awakened by her younger sibling waking her up as usual. Aaaaaah! I'm late! Panicking at her tardiness, she raced to get ready and bid her father farewell as she sprinted along to the Hokage's Office. Mentally cursing to herself, Kumiko rounded a corner and almost ran into somebody before standing in front of the building.
This is it. My debut! The first step towards becoming the next Hokage! Let's do it! She cheered herself on, walking inside right after running into the door. She scurried towards the Kage's office before poking her head inside. There in the office would be Sanae, the Hokage and Uzimaki member that the child had grown to adore! Mostly for the Uzimaki background though. Okay, that and the body. God she wished she could grow up already.
"Hokage!" Kumiko announced her arrival, simply entering the room and keeping her distance as her lit up eyes would shine bright at her. "I've come for my headband!...Actually, I wanted permission to use my mother's old one. Is that okay?"
Oh snap, was that a new genin? He'd better bail before he got assigned a new student or smacked again. Without a response he slowly slid away and back to the ground, heading out with doggo.

While the real San quietly slipped out of the building to go train, her shadow clone was busy moving the broken desk back to where it was supposed to be. Upon seeing her, Kumiko would be able to tell that she was not Ivilice Takamatsu. While news had been slow to spread there was a new Hokage who had been in charge of the village since the days following the deadly attack. She was deeply red of hair and her kimono bore the symbol of the Uzumaki clan. She also appeared to have only one arm. "Go for it." The response was short and to the point. San cared little for how one represented the Leaf, only that they did it with a goal and honor.

One arm! She had one arm! Kumiko would do her best to prevent herself from staring at the lack of an arm the clone of Sanae (that she didn't know was a clone) but would maintain eye contact that faltered back to the missing limb every now and again. Much to her surprise, she would be allowed to use her mother's old headband as her elation increased tenfold. "Really?! Awesome! Thank you so so much, Hokage!" She said, digging into her jacket and pulling out the headband right then and there. After securing it to her forehead, Kumiko would focus back on Sanae. Glad to her the Uzimaki back in the best position, she would begin to back out of the office with a wave. "Thanks again! I'll be cool and let you do Kage stuff so one ar- I mean, have fun!" Kumiko would awkwardly stare before running out to go do boring genin stuff.

The clone blinked as it tried to get a bearing on what exactly the man was referring to. Then it dawned on her that he was referencing quite an old conversation. Just after Kanzaki made his request to speak with the real San, she climbed in through the window without nary a care. "Tag out punk," she said to herself with an impish grin. The two fist bumped and then the clone dispersed. San took a deep breath, shook her head once, and then settled into her chair as the memories fused together. The furniture had yet to be fixed but San had at least moved it all back to where it was supposed to be. "S'what can I do for ya Kanzaki?" She parsed through the new memories, apparently there'd been some rigmarole going on in the office and that left her a tad soured. Still it was nothing to be too upset about it. Holding out her hand for pup she couldn't help but smile and coo "Whose a good girl? Is it you? Are you a good girl?"

"Not good! Best!"Kaoru plainly said, although her accent was pretty terrible, sitting down and stomping on alternating fore paws in excitement. Kanzaki knew she'd taught, but this was his first time hearing it. "Don't get comfortable. You're taking us out to eat. You wanna know more about me and fun fact: I am broke as ********> Nobody was going to turn the tables on Kanzaki and get away with it, even as he was the one to cancel when she called him out on it. He wasn't kidding about being broke, what with few actual missions under his belt, and while the canines had fed him, they did not have a chef's palette. San could finally he how weird he was and send him away as often as possible. Either that or things backfire horribly.

San was taken aback by the fact that Kaoru could now talk. It was a bit shocking but in the world of ninja perhaps not all that unusual. "That's right, you are!" It was fun playing with the dog, something she rarely got to do these days was to simply sit back and enjoy herself. Likewise it didn't seem like she'd be able to sit back and enjoy a nice dinner either, Kanzaki was pretty up front about not being able to pay. So there was that, maybe they'd get comped since she was the kage, who could say. "That's a nice look," she replied sarcastically. Getting up from desk she walked towards him with a slight scowl and a yawn. "So long as you don't make me broke it'll be fine." Part of her wondered just what the hell she'd gotten herself into now. Though it seemed as if time would tell. On the way out of the office she let Nobuyuki know that he was responsible for giving genin their headbands for the time being.

Once an ANBU on missions of clandestine nature, now reading and signing off reports as acting Kage. Shi Akatoki was dressed for battle, but his weapons remained sheathed in favour of an ink pen to scrawl his tightly-packed signature on marked lines where necessary. Whenever the pile of documents stacked in the 'IN' box started to look like a dent was being made in them, someone would enter, silently place new ones in the pile. The new ones would be placed in the stack, the less important ones near the bottom. And then what progress Shi had been able to make would be taken from 'OUT' box, leaving an empty tray behind as the person left to file the report elsewhere. The door to the office was left open, awaiting visitors. As Acting Kage, Shi was not privy to the highest ranked information, not until it was necessary, so Shi felt no compulsion for the extra security or privacy during this task. Besides, with Konoha still under reconstruction from the devastation of the UHV attack, having verbal reports and small requests walking in and out all day was becoming expected.

I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.
Amarantha strolled into the building where the Hokage's office resided, her head held high and eyes looking straight ahead. She had graduated the academy, despite her older age, and had passed her classes with little effort, as far as studying was concerned. She had her flaws, sure, want human being didn't, but she also knew where her strengths were. She brushed her hip-length flaming red hair over her shoulder, allowing it to drape across the snow white fur coat she was wearing. The coat was a final gift from her father, before he passed on, an early graduation present, he had said the day he'd given it to her; as such she rarely took it off. He heels echoed off the wide open walls of the hallway as she made her way to the Hokage's office. Amarantha's mother had informed her that the last Hokage was no longer holding the office, but that a permanent replacement had not been decided upon. In place of an official Hokage, they had a temporary; Acting, Hokage.
Her mother had made it quite clear, however, that she should treat this temporary Hokage just as she would the true, permanent Hokage. As if her mother had needed to tell her that. When she came to the door that led to the Hokage's office, she took a deep breath and squared her shoulders before she stepped right up to the door and knocked, three times exactly. The strikes of her knuckles on the wood were firm and precise, confident in their delivery. Exactly as her mother had drilled into her.

Shi finished reading the sentence he was currently on before marking his spot with a gently placed finger so he could look up at the person who has knocked on his door. Green eyes stared across the large, empty space of the Hokage Office, taking in the long, free-flowing hair and the thick, plush coat covering up the slender frame. Shi blinked, taking in the sight before his memory caught up to why she looked familiar despite knowing they had not met before. "Newly graduated." Shi had spoken, voice low and calm. He leans back in the chair, his right hand beckoning Amarantha to approach through the open door while the left hand abandoned its place on the report to go to a small stack of folders, each with a name and freshly placed seal marking the graduation date in a corner. A small, square photo was paper-clipped to each file. "... Vlakhusha? Amarantha." Despite the foreign name, Shi spoke it in the exact same manner that the Genin's Academy teacher used to.
"Ninjutsu specialist." Shi read aloud, not looking up from scanning through the thin report. "You have shown potential for higher roles, with the caveat that you temper yourself first..." The acting kage was mostly speaking to himself. "Hyouton..." He speaks a little slower as he reads, and the fingers of his right hand trail under the words, as though guiding him along. He appears to have some difficulty reading. Eventually, after some slow minutes of almost absolute silence, Shi looks back up. "This doesn't say what your goals are." He reveals. "What do you want to achieve as a shinobi of Konoha?"

"You can't be too stupid if you were trusted to deliver a message like this. Your kage would be a fool if you were yo. At any rate such talk is for the summit." That much was true, San would not discuss any possible alliances with messenger. Konoha was in a very delicate state politically right now and she had to be careful about her dealings and moves. For now they would go it alone, they had to. If the village could not succeed on its merits the possibility of being scrapped was all to real. "Oh and when you go home, tell the Kazekage that Konoha will be represented at the summit." Her reply to the other leader was vague but concise enough. Somebody would be attending it to represent Konoha. Perhaps that would be San, perhaps not. It really all depended on when things got started.
