"Rapid Defense" Ryan said, thrusting his fist in the air. "Yawn!"
A roggenrola's ability to jump, back or up, would probably be minimal. Enough to avoid the damage of the Bulldoze, but not nearly enough to avoid anything else. Rapid Defense was a combination Iron Defense and Rapid Spin technique. Maugrim jumped off away and to the side from Genbu's back as the Tortoise rapidly spun, shining with it's steel defenses again, spiraling quickly to 'drill' the oncoming debris and shooting some back at the opponents. Meanwhile, Maugrim dashed to gain distance, pointing his nose to the air and opening his mouth wide to yawn as he ran between falling debris.

"Launch off," Henrietta commanded. Frate complied, kicking off of the returned debris to launch himself out of the way of the yawn attack as the cloud of it passed by.
Like this, they'd be able to avoid the attacks and by positioning himself to kick at an angle to launch himself toward the ground, Frate was able to accurately bring himself back to the ground.
Landing with some distance between themselves and the enemies, Melty would grin. Frate was not tired, in fact, he was restored. He had analyzed the Torkoal, his ability to raise his defense was different. Frate needed that sort of power, he thought. His own defense raising ability was too weak.
Still, he utilized Harden now that Taunt had faded, as per previously ordered, his defensive power strengthening.
Henrietta had no offensive strategy. No, instead she could bait her opponents. Utilize the time it would take Ryan to come up with an attack. In short, Henrietta said, "Melty, Minimize rapidly, Frate Harden rapidly." If Ryan did not stop this, they would both proceed to use the moves up to five more times, maximizing the bonus they could gain from it.

In spite of its sleepy nature, Yawn is a sound-based move and thus travels as such. Or in other words, unless Frate's jump allowed it to move faster than sound, it wouldn't be able to avoid the attack if it hadn't stopped Maugrim from actually using it.
"Taunt," Ryan said again, seeing that no pokemon was on the offensive. In the time it took for even one Harden or Minimize to occur, Maugrim would howl again, right in the middle of their attacks.
"Keep up the rapid defense," Ryan said, and the top-like turtle continued, spiralling around quickly to slam into the opponents a split second later.

luckily, Yawn wasn't a sound based moveApparently the Torkoal had gone the distance to attack with its rapid spin. This was good, Henrietta thought, it meant that the enemy was on the offensive. It was easier to react that way. Rapid Spin hit Melty this time, doing nothing. The Rapid Defense didn't matter, one more iron defense maximized his power. Still, as Frate jumped away to avoid it, the enemy would reach Melty. Who would phase through the attack, or more accurately, he would now exist inside of Torkoal. Normally, he'd just turn the enemy into a bomb, end his life. However, he couldn't do that now. "Smog," Henrietta said and that was it. Torkoal would, unless he escaped somehow with his slow speed, be a victim of an internal Smog attack and, because the poison was being directly put into the body, there was a 99% chance(1% for bullshit explanations) that Torkoal would come out of it poisoned.

((I thought that since you're just making up how attacks work (like Night Shade) then I can too. It's cool, whatever.))
Smog wasn't necessarily a problem for the volcano dwelling Pokemon, who exhausted smoke almost constantly. Besides the fact that he was spinning at a rapid rate (which would be difficult for Melty to keep up with), he spun to a stop several feet away from Frate. He braced himself, still (if Melty stayed) exhausting the Smog through the pores in his shell, the coals from inside the shell churning rapidly, the start of a heavily controled Rock Tomb. Combined with the heat from inside his shell, continually crushing at Melty as though the pokemon were in a pressure cooker filled with jagged rocks.
Of course, this wasn't a fire attack, just heat pressurized - that is to say, if Melty stuck with him as he traveled around.
"Scary Face," Ryan said, keeping Maugrim moving, but not quite going on the offensive after the Ghost pokemon did that. Maugrim growled, activating Scary Face on Frate to keep the slower pokemon as stationary as possible.

(( The user creates a frightening mirage. We weren't changing the mechanics, we were just personalizing the image so that it looks cooler when used. It makes more sense, too, considering if the image is meant to be frightening, then we can assume that some people wouldn't fear the same things as other people. Personalizing the image means that, no matter what, you'll be afraid. Whether it capitalizes in your fear or height, or your fear in your insecurities.))Even if he moved the smog through the body, it wouldn't matter. He had taken the internal attack and the smoke now pushed through the entirety of his body, from his lungs to his blood. Even if he got rid of what he could, Torkoals were not anatomically designed to expel blood, and thus, he would not be capable of removing the poison. Melty, who stood stationary, was not picked up with the attack and Torkoal would simply spin away from him, now poisoned. Frate simply didn't look at the scary face to be afraid of it, his focus was on Torkoal who now stood stationary. Henrietta let this pass. Moves that utilized physical features, and moves that upset Pokemon such as Scary face and Taunt, were moves that were harder to avoid the more you tried to keep focus on the target. But that no longer mattered. As Torkoal had taken an internal attack, it meant that the attack had hit him in multiple internal locations at once, including his blood stream. He was, without a doubt, poisoned. Which meant that, even though he had capitalized his defensive abilities with Iron Defense, he was no longer a problem. Within a minute or so, he would collapse due to the poison. Which left the only focus, Poochyena. Henrietta looked at the dog thing. It was moving, trying to keep itself in motion, likely as a method to avoid losing momentum. "Ember, boulder throw," she said. Melty and Frate would then begin their assault. One attack would be used to make the enemy move, the next would be used to try and hit him. In other words, if the Poochyena jumped, he would lose all footing and balance and make the next attack unavoidable, with how close in being fired they were. Alternatively, if he kept close to the ground, he would find himself herded this way and that, but he actually had a chance of dodging. Henrietta, meanwhile, kept an eye on Torkoal. Even if he was going to collapse, he still was a problem until then. Anything he did from here on out would likely be with growing desperation the more he failed to save his ally.

((I can read bulbapedia too. Smog doesn't have a 99% chance of poisoning the opponent.))
Because Smog does not have a 99% chance of poison and Torkoal's rapid attack had smashed into where Frate and Melty had stood for all of about a second since he'd been acting as a spinning top, the smog attack did not 'push through the entirety of his body, from his lungs to his blood' in a god-mod way of autohitting someone. Since, yanno, Melty stood stationary.
Maugrim dashed, zigzagging around the boulders and flaming embers, towards Genbu for cover. He'd managed to avoid the boulders (which were the real problem) but the embers were smaller and harder to avoid. The Ember burned but thanks to Quick Feet, he got to safety quickly.
The churning Rock Tomb erupted from Genbu's back, blasting likewise towards the two opponents.

((I don't like petty battles where people don't understand things. Mostly because I hate explaining things in gross detail.))
An internal attack, that is to say, one that entered the body by such a means wouldn't require any sort of spreading by the pokemon. When one moved their body they essentially put it into overdrive. This was the reason, for example, that with exercise you increased your body heat, enabling things such as fending off the cold. It is also the reason that one must remain calm and, if possible, still when they are bit by something poisonous. With excessive movement, the body picks up how it acts, namely the blood. In other words, Torkoal, who had not dodged the Smog attack, (or he wouldn't have been able to expel it), would have the smog push through him. With the rapid movements of the rapid spin that he maintained until he became stationary, even if Melty had only utilized a small bit of Smog, Torkoal would inevitably find himself having spread the poison on his own.
In other words, it wasn't anything like god modding, it was the direct result of relying on excessive movement. In short(because you already expressed taking the hit), at the very least the Smog had moved through the body and had time to sit within the body until Torkoal himself had stopped moving to expel it. The end result was, because the attack was internal, the most likely result was Torkoal being poisoned. If he wasn't, from having poison sitting directly in his body for that long, it would be a miracle of God.
(if you want an experiment, go get bit by a black widow. Anywhere. If you don't want to test just blood, swallow one without chewing, or inhale one, let it bite your lungs. The end result will be, 100/100 times, that you will be poisoned because the poison has entered your body. Logically, that is how poison works. Once it gets inside, it is damaging you, and you are poisoned. The poison move being used internally meant that the status was being directly administered, not that it relied on the chance(chance of poisoning) to enter your body to poison you.)
((To make that short and sweet. Your previous post indicated that you had already taken the move. Because of the way in which it was utilized, the poison status effect would be the logical outcome. If you have a problem with the logic, you're free to dispute it. Or, if you're that upset by it, you can ignore the condition and continue to battle. I don't mind, I'd rather you understand and, more importantly than understand, not be upset.))
Now that Poochyena was burned, it was over. Henrietta had assumed that the internal smog would poison Torkoal, now that Poochyena was burned it was not a 'can I win', but 'how long until they succumb to their injuries?' The short and sweet of it was, she had already won.
"Dodge it."
There was nothing to declare it, and officially it wasn't true. Still, if all she had to do was avoid the enemy until they defeated themselves simply by not being tucked away in their Pokeballs or being healed, she was confident. The Rock Tomb came and Melty, who was small, would simply find a place to hide within the cracks.
"Send it back."
Frate, meanwhile, jumped out of the way. Smog would seep through the cracks of the rocks before exploding with the ignition of the smog, one of Melty's special techniques. Ignite.
One side of the rocks exploded toward Torkoal and Frate would lunge to kick them, increasing their power to increase the power of Rock Blast, suping up the attack for if it hit Torkoal.

((You directly stated it moves from the lungs to the blood stream, and as Torkoal can use Smog as well - and as I stated - Smog was expelled through the proper means a Torkoal would expell it - through it's shell. So the smog could be absorbed from the lungs, or whatever, and passed elsewhere.
I'll accept your explanation only because I'm new here and I don't want to step on toes, and because I also hate long explanations when they are not needed. I understood your attacks intentions, and I stated a counter that was ignored.))
Ryan withdrew both his pokemon before they were injured any further, considering both were now suffering from status ailments. The girl had no control over her pokemon - continuing to battle would only kill his.
"Your pokemon work well together," he commented, looking in disappointment at one of the poke balls. "I'd say you don't even need that tututaykondo stuff."

((My apologies sir.))
Henrietta looked at Ryan when he recalled his Pokemon. She was confused, the battle was over? That was the end of it? It wasn't as if she lacked control over them during a battle, if one looked at her, it was more like she accepted the b*****d side of them when she lost herself in the conflict. It was assumed among trainers that didn't know any better that pokemon centers were magical healing devices and even if you blew someone's lung open, the machines could heal them.
Henrietta was one of those naive sorts.
"H-hum?" She looked at Ryan as all of the excitedness of the battle melted away, leaving her timidness to settle back in. She shook her head at his words, she needed to learn it. She had to. After her battle with Jeffery, which had ended in a lot of blood and Eunmi saving the day, her confrontation(both) with Gorm, the crazy nurse and whoever had attacked her in the train yard, she -needed- to learn how to fight.
"I-it's not an option," she said, though, to avoid long winded explanations for a guy she didn't know.
"B-b-but th-thank you."

And she was back to stuttering. What was with change in attitude this girl had? Two seconds ago, she looked so intense she was almost intimidating - if it wasn't for the fact she was a short girl.
"Huh? Yeah," he nodded. He wasn't a sour sport - he'd admit defeat if he needed to, and the girl was good. She didn't have to say thank you for that.
"Ax axew..." the pokemon grumbled. It held its stomach.
"Oh right," he said, snapping his fingers. "Sorry, lil' guy, I forgot."
He turned back to Henrietta.
"I'm Ryan," he said, and held up his Axew. "This is my Axew. My Torkoal is Genbu, and the Poochyena is Maugrim."
The Axew clamped its jaws tightly. That wasn't what it had been complaining about - it was hungry.
"You are...?"
