Master... GET TO WORK! (spartan x lollypop)

Darius looked over as she opened the door, still in tears. He looked down, her frown something he didn't want to see. "What? Have you come to tell me how stupid I am? I messed up and now Jackie hates me... She'll never want to talk to me again..." He sniffled a little, tears still swelling in his eyes. "The only girl who actually liked me because of my looks and personality and not my money... Now will probably avoid me like the plague..." He wanted to smoke some more, but he was out of cigarettes, smoking away half a box of them.

"No." Maria replied. "... but I was afraid of this." She sighed. She slowly sat next to him, stroking his hair. "She doesn't hate you. She's just angry. It's not your fault that she lashed out at you."

"Yes it is... I should have just kept my mouth shut..." He said, still not looking at Maria. "I think she's jealous of you, but I don't know why..."

"No. It's fine. You didn't say anything wrong." She told him. "I don't know why. People do ridiculous things sometimes, you know?"

"No one will ever fall for me..." He was being stubborn, just wanting the ability to apologize to Jackie for what he said.

"That's a lie and you know it." Maria replied. "You're cute and charming. There's plenty of girls who would fall for you. You just haven't met them yet because you're always cooped up in your room. I mean, think about it. You went out once with me and found a girl you like, but you didn't know it until I told you. Chances are there are lots of girls like that who you just didn't see. I had to try to get you to talk to her, remember?"

(Same problem here. Didn't have internet for 2 days :c)

"You actually think I'm cute and charming...?" He always had the thought that she thought of him as a stupid kid and had a terrible job because of him.

"Yes, when you choose to be." She replied. "You still need to work at it though. You're still pretty oblivious."

"Oh..." He looked up at her and then looked back down. "What should I do? I really like Jackie, but she seems like the type of girl who would make sure she'd get as far away as possible from me because of what I said."

"She'll have to confront you eventually. You're doing that project together, aren't you?" Maria replied.

"What if she tries to swap partners because of me? What if she even stops hanging out with you because of me?!" Darius' head was filled with all of these ideas that what he said not only ruined their almost relationship, but even Maria's friendship.

"You worry too much." Maria replied coldly. "I'm pretty sure Jackie is mature enough to realize that she went overboard and this will all be resolved within a week."

Darius was still saddened, wishing it didn't happen at all. "Okay... I hope everything will be okay by then..." He frowned, wishing it could be fixed tomorrow, but knew it wouldn't. "Would it be okay if I hugged you? Maybe having someone to just hold closely will help me calm down..." He then asked.

Maria said nothing and simply nodded, opening her arms to him like a mother.

Darius moved in slowly, hugging Maria as if she was his mother or sister. "Thank you..." He rested his head on her shoulder as he cuddled closely to Maria.
