Matti had to strain to pull the boy at first, but after a second, things surprisingly started to move quite quickly. Too quickly, actually.. She looked up, seeing a brown hatchling right there and dragging the injured candidate as well. She looked up, amazed, then back down at the injured boy. Was it.. his? But its eyes weren't rainbow, so perhaps not. "Thank you!" she said.
She looked down at Farellen, and shells he was badly off. Tears pricked at her eyes, despite herself. Damn empathy. "You sharding idiot. Don't die, okay?" she said, pressing her hands to one of his injuries. She looked around the sands, desperately. She was a strong girl, but that still didn't mean she could bodily lift a person probably twice her size.
"Someone! Please! I need help getting him back to the healers!"

Martirae
Marty's heart caught in her chest as the Bronze Hunter violently shook his white sibling and threw him to the side. Then anger filled her. Anger that was almost in time with the hatching of another egg and Martirae barely stepped out of the way of the blue dragon, only to be knocked down onto her back. While she wasn't trampled, she was winded remaining on the ground for a few moments longer than she would have liked. But her diaphragm struggled for a moment before air was again hers.
Wheezing, she sat up, sand sticking to her back and hair. Whirling, she took a moment to reassess what was happening on the sands; Two new blues and a brown. Two of which were starting damage control. The blue that had knocked her down was calling for an end to the fight (she wished it luck), the second blue (the Banshee?) was...wailing. Piteously and she could see cracks forming in other eggs almost in answer to it's cries.
She'd had it. Things were out of control and Martirae knew for a fact that the brown dragon pulling Farellan off the sands was not going to get far on his own. She finally moved from her spot to cross the sands to where the brown dragon and another candidate was moving him. "Here, I'll take care of this," she assured the brown dragon then nodded to Matti as she shifted to take up more of the mauled boy's weight into her side.
Huarwar's attention was turned away from the fighting when he felt someone come up to him and place a kiss on his cheek as they spoke. His eyes found Aelyx and he smiled softly at her. "It's interesting to say the least." He replied back to her, an arm moving to wrap around her, pulling her a bit closer to him, to protect as his eyes moved back towards the two bronzes and the one white. Other eggs were hatching and things just seemed to continue escalating some, but at least there didn't seem to be any candidate's being too terribly hurt anymore. At least it had been and then suddenly Hunter was attacking Demon, ripping his neck open. Henwas winced as did Huarwar, though Huarwar did wrap his arm tighter around Aelyx. What the heck was going on at this hatching?
Seeing the small body of the white suddenly thrown by it's former ally, Huarwar felt his heart pounding and he longed to run towards the small body lying on the sands, but that would mean leaving Aelyx's side. His eyes glanced to look at her, worry etched across his features.
While Huarwar was busy worrying about Aelyx, Henwas heard the shattering of another egg. His head turned to see an enraged blue baby suddenly coming right past them, not caring if anyone was in his way. Seeing Huarwar and his lady friend were a bit too close for comfort, Henwas pushed the both of them back, getting clawed on his left leg, a large gash and he hissed at the feel of the claws. The dragonnet didn't waste any time, so it was quick at least and Henwas didn't fall to his knees, he stood there, trying to take everything in.
Huarwar was brought to his attention when Henwas suddenly pushed him and Aelyx back and he stared at his twin, eyes taking in the torn robe and blooded calf he had received for his actions. "Henwas..." His words were just a breath as the older twin waved a hand. "I'm fine, it's just a scratch. Pay attention next time though." Other candidates were moving to the little white as a scream suddenly erupted and Henwas winced some at the sound, his eyes moving to see other eggs shatter. Though his eyes returned to those near the white and then to the candidate who had thrown himself into the middle of the fighting hatchlings. Another one seemed to be trying to help him, as was another candidate.
Limping away from Huarwar and Aelyx, Henwas called back to his twin. "Stay there and keep your head on a swivel." He tore a piece of his robe as he walked, stopping briefly to tie it around the wound on his calf, it would do for now. Another girl had come over to help the fallen boy but Henwas reached them and gently lifted him, from the girls arms. "I can do this, though if you two could make sure that nothing gets too jostled..." It was a surprising act of kindness from the man but, he couldn't just stand by.

~Ryala~
Skidding slightly in the sand, Ryala stopped next to the white body of the Angel. Thankfully, she was not alone. As one of the others started tearing off the sleeves of his robe and telling them to do the same, Ryala was more than happy to comply. Although... her strength wasn't great. She was having a little trouble getting the fabric to tear... ah, there, a part in the seam! Yanking, she finally succeeded in removing first one sleeve, then the other. Folding them over, she applied then to the wounds nearest to her, carefully applying pressure in an attempt to stop the bleeding.
As she did, Ryala silently thought to the white... Hang on... we've got you... please don't leave us... you're strong, you can do this...

~Phayton~
Things were getting a little out of control now. First the bright yellow and pink exploded open to reveal a very angry blue, and another egg no one had seen before appeared and hatched a brown; both dragonets charged roaring into battle. Phayton put a protective arm around Jailla again and began to move further away. "Let's go stand over there," he nodded to indicate a spot closer to the unhatched eggs. "I think -- I hope it'll be safer."
Happy thoughts, happy thoughts ran through his mind as he shuffled with her through the sand to the new position. Keep thinking happy thoughts...
Another egg exploded, and a blue started keening and running toward the fallen white. Who looked... Phayton couldn't watch. "Don't look, Jailla," he whispered hoarsely, close to tears. "Don't look."

~Ferrit~
Suddenly Ferrit found herself too close to the battle between the two bronzes and the white, who seemed to now be defending the aggressive one. She tried to scramble away, but running was hard in sand, and she stumbled and fell. The yellow and pink egg burst open and a rampaging blue dragonet roared and charged toward the fight. Ferrit, eyes wide, realized it was coming STRAIGHT FOR HER! She fought to crawl out of the way, but the angry blue dragonet was too fast and trampled over her legs, leaving deep, ugly gashes.
She yelped with pain as adrenaline kicked in and she crawled to what was hopefully safety. Sitting up, she instinctively ripped the hem of her robes into strips and wrapped them around her wounds. That was what you did in the kitchen if you cut yourself: find the closest clean fabric, rip it into strips, bind the injury, and carry on.
Hoping the Candidates who were flung aside like dolls were okay, she slowly got back to her feet. This was not going as anyone planned.

~Haukai and blue Corymth~
The brown dragonet reared back on his hind legs and spoke directly to Haukai, something she did NOT expect. Given the way this clutch was shaking out, with dragonet fighting dragonet and the potential for more maulings, she knew she had to do her best. Fortunately, she knew she was a top notch Healer. "You have my word," she replied to the little brown.
Turning her attention to Skylla, she nodded at her patients. "They're a mess, but they'll live, and walk away with some decorative scars to show for it," she said as she knelt to work on Gavryl -- G'ryl, now, she supposed. "I'll have G'ryl here patched up and on his feet for the Hatching Feast. Dolmar has a concussion, so he's doubtful for re-entering the fray, but we'll see." She grinned wryly at the Assistant Weyrlingmaster. "Stranger things have happened at this Hatching-"
Then all hell broke loose. Eggs were exploding open, hatchlings were roaring, and a Candidate was getting ripped to shreds. "Shells!" she swore as healers and Candidates started pelting across the sands toward the wounded boy, who was being dragged to safety by one of the dragonets. "BRING HIM HERE!" she shouted over the din. She finished what she was doing with G'ryl and started barking orders. "Please move back, we have incoming wounded! Get me another stretcher! Corymth, get ready to transport one to the Infirmary if we need to!"

K'gan and Singarth
K'gan had been on patrol when Singarth started to hum, even miles away from the weyr itself the sensitive blue had been linked to it's brethren and sensed the coming of a new generation.
"Noooo" K'gan groaned and flopped back dramatically in his saddle along the back of his partner as Singarth circled. "We're going to miss it all, just our luck to be on patrol. Even when we know nothing is going to happen here for days as well. Urrrgh." He groaned again, pouting as he sat up.
Singarth for his part was unaffected by his riders disappointment, after all he had a direct link to the dragons in the weyr, up to the minute updates at hand for him from the other dragons he was friendly with. He kept up his melodic humming with a few clicks and whistles thrown in as the news brought fresh energy to the blue. He swooped and twisted to show it. He was full of enthusiasm and excitement and joyfully kept his rider updated as well as they guided over the open meadows of western territory.
"A bronze is out first, thats good...
...He mauled a boy, I hope he's okay...
...now a greeen has hatched, oh she is making such good sounds...
...she impressed....
.....now a brown is hatched and impressed to one of the injured boys..."
And so it went till they had finished their sweep. As soon a they had K'gan told Singarth to report that all was well to their wing leader and they both popped between. As usual K'gan counted the long three breaths it took to get back to the weyr. Then they were over the weyr and gliding down to the hatching sands.
In the brief time it had taken them to between back the sands had descended into chaos. A pile of dragonets were piled in the middle in a huge fight, one poor little white was off to the side and far too still.
Candidates lay scattered around painted in white and red. K'gan looked down in horror then he decided. Directing Singarth away from the sands to where the healers where. He slid off Singarth's back down beside the two healers. "Hakaui, Nora. What can I do?"he asked curtly, he was no healer but he knew the basics thanks to training, like how to apply pressure to a wound and apply numb weed. He spared another look out across the sands. Then. "Shards, Farellen!" He didn't know the boy well but he had liked him, he had been good fun and willing to throw himself into his game. Which was why K'gan throw himself out onto the sands.
Hurrying across the warm gold and red space he met the two candidates that were already helping him and shooed them aside, lifting the young man clear into the air, speed was of the essence after all. "Thanks, I got him." He assured Martirea. "As many candidates as possiable need to stay on the sands." He gathered the fallen man against his chest, nodding at the small brown that had dragged him free of the chaos originally as thanks Holding him firmly he tried to avoid making wounds any worse and carried him back to the waiting healers. "Haukai!?" The healer was already there, but his desperate call was more a question, would he make it?
After helping Dolmar, Aislin returned to the sands, waiting around the edge. There were so many injured she hardly keep track.. She scanned the crowds, trying to see if there was anyone injured who had not found help. It took her friend violently shaking her arm before she noticed the violent confrontation going on across the sands. "Oh, that poor white!" Aelyn cried when the little hatchling was knocked aside. "It... it won't die will it?"
"It'll be fine.." Asilin promised, though she had no way of knowing that. They told you what to do with injured candidates, but not injured babies. Seeing there were already others trying to stop the bleeding, Aislin went to the side of the sands instead. "Are we allowed to move it to the healers?" she asked A'ral. They were usually told not to interfere, but surely, surely, to save its life...

Waving to Casgar, Nemo said, "You've missed a lot of drama. One of the bronzes had already hatched, then he attacked a couple candidates..." He pointed to where the healers were. "Then two of his brothers hatched, another bronze and a white, and they've been fighting, and honestly it's taking a lot right now to not try and pull them apart myself right now if only to stop mauling the candidates." Nemo paused, then looked at P'tius, "Are you okay?"
Sinking down, P'tius covered his mouth, eyes wide. He said nothing for a moment, only glancing at Casgar. Finally, he swallowed and asked, "Who are you again?"
When Casgar walked up, Jacomus found himself ignoring the fighting hatchlings and pained screams. His focus zeroed in on the headman, a rather sappy smile starting to spread on his face. His brother's question broke whatever spell was occuring, though, causing him to turn, only to look down. "Oh... Flashbacks to the hatchings you Stood for, I take it... P'tius, this is Casgar." He turned, offering his hand to Casgar, the other already occupied with petting Fidget. "Casgar, this is my brother, P'tius. The one whose nose I broke, last time we were around each other..."
"I still owe you for that."

---
Chaos was reigning supreme as Nora watched in horror as the hatchlings fought. The white, blessedly able to break from its own shell, looked like it was now actively dying. He didn't know much about dragon healing, but he knew a patient when he saw one. But then, there were candidates, too, and while Pern needed all the fighting dragons it could get, he once again knew nothing about dragon healing. He hurried to Farellen, already getting things out of his bag faster than Plague could hand them to him. "You're doing exactly what you need to right now, K'gan! Set him down here, his arm needs setting, wounds cleaning..." The robes were, unfortunately, unsalvageable. If he lived to see another Hatching and to Stand again, he'd need entirely new ones. Several would, really.
Plague hummed, handing off bandages. She grabbed one of the numbweed jars, hopping up to the table with it. Concern reflected in her eyes as they flashed yellow, red, and even white.
Farellen didn't react as people .. and a dragon, moved him, other than groan in pain, he was strangely aware of a rushing sound in his ears, "th....whi...?" he tried to ask, but coughing instead, a small spray of blood would coat anyone near his head from a tear in his cheek, letting blood seep down into his mouth, if he was lucky, his ribs were only cracked and his lungs weren't damaged, luck however, didn't seem to be on his side today, the Healers could tell him. Then he felt himself being transferred, he cried out as his broken arm was bumped where it dangled. He only just registered a Healer? yelling then he heard a familiar voice and tried to turn his head in that direction " ...'gan?" he murmured, trying to stay awake, knowing somewhere in the back of his mind, that going to sleep when injured like this was a bad thing..... why oh why had he tried to stop the bronzes from killing one another? and the poor white, he would never forgive himself if it died because of him ... if he survived anyways
(i can't keep up, but if you helped Farellen, pretend i tagged you... sorry)

Aly’on(Goes to yell at some healers)
Aly'on had not expected a peaceful hatchling after the touching fiasco he had seen, but he had not expected this level of sharding chaos. Let alone for the bronzes to be so interested in killing each other and for that small white to be shaken and tossed like a rag doll. He could spot his brother, Rylyrr height and dark skin tone made him stand out amongst the others. He had to do something. He left the stands, and headed towards the healers.
He bullied his way through, moving swiftly and leaned over the edge and shouted. “Any Dragon Healers about? If you have flits and can get to the stands, I can have my dragon rely instructions to the candidates trying to help the white and start a supply chain.”
Ihiannsith sent out to Rylyrr, eyes whirling yellow, grey.
Rylyrr "Make sure you are putting pressure on it... and Aly'on my brother trying to find a dragon healer to instruct us." Could they move the hatching? He wasn't sure and wasn't sure if it just would make things worse. "I'm Rylyrr and lets also try to keep an eye on where the fighting hatchings are... so we also don't get mauled."

Miach (HR)
Miach inhaled sharply at the turn of events and when the Angel went down, Miach flew to it’s side to try and help. Her hands shook as she looked over its tiny body. While she was wanting to be an apprentice dragonhealer, she hadn’t started the training for it yet. “You’re going to be okay.” She said softly to the dragon. Could she drag it off to the side? Miach pulled her robe up as far as she could without exposing herself to hold to some of the places the dragon was bleeding from. Miach looked to the masters standing off to the side and used the strongest voice she had. “Can I move it to the side?” She asked with only a quiver to her words.

Kambri (W)
Just when he thought he could get the greens to move from the infirmary set up to the edges of the sands, all hell broke loose where he had been standing not more than a few minutes before. Kambri looked to the greens, “looks like they’re up to something and may need a little help. Maybe we can play over there later.” He said, pointing to the side he had mentioned before—still hoping they’d move there. With that, he was off back to the fighting dragons—only to go flying in the air for a moment as the Frankenstein’s monster knocked his legs from him and he fell backwards onto the sand and then swiftly trampled by its clawed feet. “Argh!” He said through it all. While he was very scraped up, it wasn’t enough to stop him. “Wait! Calm down for a moment!” He called, shielding his head with his arms.

Silviu (HR)
No… no… nonononono… Oh, no.
Silviu had stood frozen with fear as he watched the bloody battle between the Angel, Hunter and Demon, sick to his core but unable to look away. He knew that hatchlings hurt candidates, but this… this was wrong! They tore the flesh of their own siblings, dragons out for the blood of their own kind!
And then… then the tiny little white dragon was in the air, a spray of green ichor fanning out from its soaring form like a gruesome rain. The boy’s knees hit the ground a moment after the Angel’s body crashed into the sand. He dry-heaved even as he cried, hot tears spilling over without care for decorum. All around him, screams and panic and crying and violence.
The poor, poor baby...

Disgust rose in his throat again when Angel was shaken and tossed aside by his brother, and Dezerac's blood ran cold. He'd thought Demon terrible for taking such delight in maiming Candidates who'd done nothing to provoke him, but Hunter was a wretch, tearing and discarding his own brother for getting in the way. His brother! It was not for him to help; even if it had been in his nature to disobey his training, others were already rushing to do so. He continued to stand silently in place, jaw clenched and eyes hard. The Hunter had dared to judge him, while his rage and utter lack of self control would be the death of his brother.
A beast, a fool, a wretch. He would have turned his back, had it not been dangerous to do so.

Mattavi
"Thanks." Matti nodded, climbing to her feet and she helped Marty lift the boy, trying to keep his hands, arms, chest from moving too much as they did. She was grateful when the other candidate came and lifted him up and she nodded.
She gently crossed the boy's arms over his chest, then looked at the other two. She was no healer, but ships were dangerous places, and she had more than enough experience moving injured people. "Two to his torso, one to his legs." she told them, taking her place on other side of Henwas to help support his back and chest while nodding towards his legs to Marty. That was the best way to transport someone without increasing their injuries. "Straight and smooth as you can." she added, begin to move gingerly towards the healers. She could only hope the rest of the clutch would leave them alone as they did.
What constituted a mauling, she wondered. Probably what was happening ALL over the sands. With a sigh, Shalaera carefully crossed off one of her bets as a loss. She was just gonna eat that one. As for the others....
