He rubbed his arm and gave the girl a brave smile, "er, no offense."

Now Henrietta was blushing. She looked away from Ryan with a "h-hum." She continued in silence for a bit longer before she said, "I-i'm not good around people." She looked over at him. "Th-they make me nervous."

"Nah, I saw you in that battle there, you weren't nervous. You afraid someone's gonna laugh at you or somethin'? Could be that," he shrugged, "Well, it's more likely someone'll laugh at you for talking funny, so you're kinda digging your own grave, y'know. People don't like it when other people stand out."

"Artemis!" Elizabeth jumped when they bumped, quickly diffusing her tears with quick swipes of her palm. She smiled, looking as happy as Robby would if he woke up to find the world was made of buffet. "I'm fine! Just a little lost; this town is so much bigger than I thought it'd be."
Avoiding potential awkward silences, she quickly checked her Xtransceiver, "Oh, you did call. Sorry, I must've been busy. Wow, it's been ages; what are you doing in Nacrene?"

"I-i just try not to talk," she said. She didn't want to stand out. Was stuttering really something that made her stand out? "Hum," she whispered quietly. She looked down at Darumi who was as happy as ever, as restless as ever. She let him run around and he'd proceed to do circles around them.
During battles, she thought, she didn't consider the other person most of the time. What they ordered, sure, but usually they just melted away from her vision. Save one battle in Striaton City. Normally her biggest concern regarding them was making sure they didn't get caught up in her pokemon's attacks, a courtesy she noticed was not mutual, as she often had to move away during a battle to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

"Pokemon Center stuff..." Artemis said with a sigh. She was easily tricked into thinking Elizabeth was fine, considering she was inept at picking stuff up like that.
"Some nurse ...ah, it's not important," Artemis said, realizing she might get more annoyed if she repeated the incident.
"Is Zack here, too?" she asked, although the proper reply would probably be, "What about you?" or "Why are you here?"

"You're talking to me," Ryan said, "and your friend, the one who's teaching you how to pose, you talk to them don't you? I know shy people and to this day I do not know what they sound like (I'm basing this off reality here. There's a girl in my class and I think she's mute)"
"You're probably more... how to put this... like an apple. All the other apples grow and shine and look tasty, but you still haven't come out of your shell, and sure you look tasty but then your shell is still on, and you'd probably look even tastier if you took your shell off. Er. I'm not trying to pick you up. I mean, not like I could pick up an apple, which is tasty."

"I probably should apologise," Wayne admitted, kicking back on a bench just outside one of Nacrene's cafés. The revitalizing effect of Petilil's leaves had kicked in and he was feeling better, physically at least, though not exactly 100%. The bulb pokémon looked at her trainer, some level of shame present in her eyes.
"What, you're not judging me are you?" Wayne asked, looking to the grey sky. "She's overprotective. I mean, she let me on a journey and all but... I dunno," he sighed, closing his eyes with an otherwise annoyed look, "I'm not made of glass. And she doesn't have to mother me all the time."
"Lil..." Petilil mumbled sadly, hiding against Wayne's side and under his arm, which was hanging over the back of the bench.
"I probably should apologise..."
He sat up abruptly, freaking Petilil out a little, leaning forward with a stern frown, "I've always known, y'know, if I ever wanted them to feel like s**t all I had to do was tell 'em to stop trying to be my real parents. Kind of an a** thing to do. Man, I can't believe I wasted it."
He stood up, stretching a little and Petilil hopped onto the floor by his feet. He recalled a foggy memory, hidden under lock and key. An old enemy that he didn't like to visit. "No," he said to himself, "that's not exactly true either."

"Ah, yeah he's--" Elizabeth looked left. Then she looked right. And frowned, "Where the hell is he anyway?"
She held her head, feeling irritated but quickly calming down with a sigh. "He's probably off getting into a fight somewhere. Did you hear about the Dojo? He did that against some old guy and still lost. Can you believe it?"
Elizabeth blinked in realisation, "Oh, what about you?" she grinned slyly, "Is Jump here with you?"

Henrietta shook her head. It was complicated, she thought. She'd been more... talkative since she started her adventure, but that was because people hadn't been mean to her right from the bat. So, maybe she was coming out of her shell. She looked at Ryan. He seemed like an odd one, but it wasn't as if she was trying to be mean, she thought.
Then he said she looked tasty. "N-no, I..." She looked away. "C-can we talk about something else?"

"The dojo?" Artemis was too engrossed with her painting to notice anything like news about the Dojo being destroyed. She only knew about the situation with the Pokemon Center because of a phone call.
Then Elizabeth mentioned Jump, and Artemis flushed. Pretty obviously, too.
"N-no," she said, looking away. "I'm here for business, not personal reasons-"
Artemis caught herself too late, and her cheeks grew redder.
"Not that- ugh, there's nothing-" Artemis couldn't even finish her sentence. There wasn't anything going on between them. Right? "I-I've, ahem, I've not seen him in a while."

"Yeah, I guess," Eunmi said, texting back, "Text me back in an hour, okay?"
"Oh, Mochi's my Cottonee," Eunmi said, proudly holding out a poke ball. "I just caught him." She brought the poke ball closer to her again, holding it with both hands like it was a rare gem.
"He's fluffy," she said with a laugh. "But I don't know what use he'll be.
"But if Dali can learn Aqua Jet, then that'll be great," Eunmi said. "How does us being in the water with him help?"

She'd just gotten ice cream, and now coffee. She had a feeling that somewhere someone would be jealous.

"Uh oh," Wayne squeaked. Through the crowds of people, he spotted a not-yet-welcome face and promptly dived into the bushes and out of view. Hopefully his movements will have been disguised by the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city. Petilil went up to the bush and stood there, camouflaged naturally.
"Pe?" she asked and Wayne hissed:
"Yeah, I know I said I'll apologise but that didn't mean I was ready to!" he kept his head down, thinking really hard about being invisible in case it worked.
Meanwhile Elizabeth thought she spotted Wayne, but quickly disregarded it as her imagination. For a moment, her face looked a little sad, but she quickly plucked up.
"Hey, that looks like a good place," she pointed towards the café whose bushes Wayne was nesting in, "I know I suggested this so I really should pay? But you could easily go in there and say you're a health inspector, which is kinda what you are really, and get us some free coffee. I'll take a latte!"
