((Jump: Artemis, is it weird that everytime we have sex I imagine this guy in a maroon shirt cheering me on? I wanna say he's my power animal or something but he doesn't look like an animal, he's just a dude. Does that make me gay? I don't think I'm gay if we're having sex, but I keep imagining this same guy. Help me out here. Artemis: God you're dumb.))

[WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE OUT OF FULL HEALS?] Baku, confused, managed to get out as his body defied him and did a few turns int he air; followed by floating awkwardly down then back up again with no real aim or direction. Baku wasn't yet able to manifest the Magic Coat.
"Ah...um...I guess I didn't buy enough." Avan dodged an incoming Munna that floated quickly by his head. "These things aren't cheap you know!" Baku floated past the trees and into the woods. The boy got up in a hurry and returned the Pokemon before he could float too far away. "Lets get you to the Pokemon Center."
"Kali, George!" Avan called out as he returned to the clearing. "We'll continue later I guess." And when he said later, he meant much later, or not at all; completely depending on whether or not he got around to it. "Back to Nacrene..." Avan said warily. He was tired and didn't want to walk back. Oh well.

"Christ, no need to shout my ear off." ["What the hell do you expect?! I agree to look after the kid for one day. ONE day."] "Now you're gonna look after her for a couple more days, what's the problem?" ["You- you a*****e! You knew full well that I'd refuse if you asked me straight, so you trick me into agreeing to just the one. Now this?! Oh, oh I will get you for this you little b*****d, I swear it."]
Zack frowned, holding the Xtransceiver up to his ear in phone mode. He'd managed to find a quieter area of the city, away from people, in which to conduct possibly the most dangerous phone call of his life. He sighed discontentedly as Jacqueline roared on the other end. She was right, of course, but it was either leaving Katelyn in her care or in his father's.
And as soon as the scenario-
--- "Daddy. Daddy. I am in a tree." "How the hell'd you get up there?" "Help me down, Daddy." "Yeah one sec, I-" "Daddy." "What?" "You can't reach me." "..." ---
-played through his head, he knew leaving Katelyn alone with her grandfather for as long as just five minutes would cause some irreparable damage. Thus the angry spec ops assassin became his daughter's babysitter. The angrier one anyway.
"Well would you stop actual swearing? Elizabeth once drew a very graphic diagram of where my balls would be if Katelyn picked up bad words." But the voice had changed. High pitch, sweet and innocent: ["Daddy? When are you coming home?"] "Oh, is that you, Katelyn? I'll be home soon, okay? Just a couple more days." ["Kay... is Mommy there?"] "She's erm... shopping," probably, "but I'll tell her to telephone you when I see her again, okay, baby?" ["I miss you Daddy."] "Is that right?" Zack looked to the sky with a smirk on his face, "I miss you too, Katelyn. Are you okay with Aunt Jacqueline?" The voice changed again. One guess whose to: "SHE'S HAVING THE TIME OF HER GODDAMN LIFE"
And through some kind of immense button pressing power, the hang-up tone was sharp enough to cause Zack to jerk back from his phone. He viewed it with disdain, snapping it closed and into a watch shape yet again.
"Glad to hear it."

Artemis stared after Wayne as he ran off, silent for a moment. So Elizabeth and Zack adopted him? She looked down at the ground, a small smile forming on her face. A genuine one, not one she'd learned to fake since people were always so put off by her frowning all the time. Kids like that needed families to support them, especially, from what Elizabeth said, they were older when they lost their families. She had new found respect for people she already thought highly of.
"I called..." she paused, drawing away from the thought. She looked up at Elizabeth and nodded. "Ah yeah. I have a gallery opening -insert whenever it happens-. I figured, yanno, I'd invite my friends."
She paused, looking up, as if trying to remember if she'd called them all. There weren't many, so it didn't take long.
"Yeah," Artemis said. "Though now that I think about it, Zack probably isn't into art... still, you seem more like the type to enjoy it."
* * * * *
Eunmi put hers on and asked in a similarly distorted voice, "Yeah? What idea?"
D-Vee, his momentum already forward, pushed further and down to roll, just barely avoiding getting kicked as the leg swung over him. In the same movement, his tail flicked against the ground. He turned and ran for another quick attack, his tail continuing to drag - he didn't have time to stop and draw, but he was forming the marks of a painted technique while keeping moving. His quick attack let him charge, aiming for an upper cut (not quite a sky uppercut though).

Wukong stopped when he saw the paint, not knowing what to expect. He recalled Eunmi mentioning that D-Vee painted his attacks. The Monferno didn't know that meant in battle.
Armed with that knowledge, he knew he had to disrupt it, but before he could make any moves to do so D-Vee went on the offensive again. Wukong, using his Mach Speed technique, took a tiny step backwards to avoid the uppercut in response to D-Vee's reappearance. To others, their high speed techniques would make them flicker in and out of existence on the battlefield.
The Smeargle was combining his set up and offense fluidly. Wukong needed to break both.
Inhaling sharply, his chest puffed up with air. And then he lurched forward, opening his mouth to spit out a beam of heat energy at D-Vee. His old trainer had taught him how to concentrate his Heat Wave attack. Because of this, it was a bright red color, almost like a laser coming out of his breath.
The air whistled from the powerful beam, which barreled it's way towards D-Vee.
Salieri smirked, narrowing her eyes up at the Asian girl's. "After we get Dali started, you and I should have our match underwater! You know, my kung fu against your taekwondo? Whoever gets their scuba thing knocked off first loses." She gave Emi a playful punch on the arm, trying to make it lighter than usual in a conscious effort to improve accidentally beating up on her friends. "I want to see what that girl I met in the rain learned after all these years."

The upper cut missing, D-Vee pushed a foot forward to stop his movement and push away, but wasn't quick enough for the concentrated Heat Wave. He braced for the impact, raising his arms to avoid taking it head on, and was pushed back by the force. His tail flicked, finishing a wave drawing, as he pushed his hands to the side to force the lingering Heat Wave aside. His arms were scorched, but he did his best to ignore the pain. He gripped his tail and pulled it up and off the finished drawing, first green paint bursting from the wave, but quickly morphing into a blue liquid.
Water, a Surf attack, water-bender style following the wave of his tail. It drenched his arms as he moved, which was probably soothing, but really aimed to give Wukong trouble as a large wave grew forward to come crashing down.
"Underwater?" Eunmi had never done this while Sal had. Was that fair? Did Eunmi care?
"Challenge accepted," Eunmi grinned. She glanced at Dali. "Alright, you gotta focus on Aqua Jet, right? How... does that move even work?"

"The only art Zack can appreciate is martial art. But I'll definitely attend; we'll be in Castelia City for a few days and just between you and me? I do not want to spend all my time putting up with Zack and Kero butting horns over everything..."
Elizabeth waved over to a waiter and called for a glass of water, and with knees as weak as Luka, he wobbled over to the kitchen making Elizabeth very much doubt she'd be getting a full glass.
"So is it all your art? I can imagine you'd dedicate at least some space to little D-Vee. Where is he anyway?"

"Ah," Artemis said, slowly sipping her drink again. "No, it's all my work."
D-Vee. Her oldest friend and companion. She didn't like to admit it, but she hadn't seen the Pokemon in years.
"You know how energetic he is," she said quietly. "And you can probably imagine how boring it would be,being cooped up in an apartment while your trainer does nothing but paint."
Artemis smiled weakly, masking as best she could her sadness.
"I let him go," she replied softly.

After a short visit to the Pokemon Center, Avan decided a trip to the library/museum would be a good idea. Unfortunately when he got there he found it closed.
"Waiting?" He asked someone standing outside. But then on closer inspection he saw it was the one who engaged Cress and Chili in double battle in Striaton, Wayne. "Hey! I saw your battle in Striaton. You're pretty good." Avan took a second and pulled out two pokeballs from his bag. "Wanna pass the time?" He asked, holding the pokeballs up.

"Oh, that's... I'm so sorry," Elizabeth laced her fingers and kept a firm watch on them, better than making eye contact. It was never a good subject among trainers, losing a pokémon -even if you did so voluntarily- it always left a hole.
"So... I hear the leader of Team Plasma is making an appearance on Castelia Tonight. Can you imagine that? Half the world seems to think he's a terrorist and he's going on a late night talk show!"
--
"You're the guy from the gym..." Wayne said, recalling how Avan was... exploding with lust... at the sight of topless Cress and topless Chili and...
'wait my shirt vanished as well... oh no.'
"A battle? Well, alright, but just so you know I had a girlfriend."

"I'd heard of some guy making speeches in cities," Artemis said, "It's all very political. The Pokemon Administration is getting a really bad rap because of it..."
The woman looked off to the side, her finger tracing the top of her cup lazily.
"I suppose I'll have to watch it," she said, looking back at Elizabeth. She didn't typically keep up with... well, anything. She liked to seal herself off into her own little world.
"...what's your take on it?"

"Huh?" It took it a minute to register. "Oh!" Avan rubbed the back of his head. He saw me? He laughed nervously, clearing his throat in attempt to cover it up. "It's not like that." That was awkward; and he called him on it so suddenly. It made him wonder just how comfortable he was. "I'm Avan by the way." The boy smirked. "Shall we...take this elsewhere?" He asked playfully seductive-like. Ren could vaguely recall someone getting yelled at for battling in front of the museum.
This was going to be fun.
