What was that?

Darumi was staring at the cotton that covered him.

We were sparring, right? And I lost? It was such a silly strategy. I lost for a stupid reason.

Darumi felt the pain of his pride. He's instigated a fight, sure. He should feel bad if the Cottonee wasn't actually trying to fight. But it seemed like it was, right? Mochi had taken an odd offensive strategy.

I can still move, right? So I should fight. If it's not a fight, then I'll be able to recognize it, right?

His chest puffed up and he spit the flames out, the cotton ignited instantly, burning him at half the damage. However, like this the cotton would burn away, freeing him from his cotton prison.

And he'd rise up, wincing at the lock of his muscles that stopped him half way. He'd take a second and start again.

But how do I fight? I need to keep aware of the surroundings. He looked at the lake nearby. His body throbbed from the Aqua Jet he'd taken, but he was still good to go. His eyes settled on Mochi.

Attacking the water thing, too. So it is looking for a fight, right? He smiled, the flaming eyebrows reigniting with vigor. Not as big as they would be if he was at full health, but enough to show he was back in the game.

They flicked as he seized up again, then he puffed his chest up and released the Uproar attack.

Dali was pushed back a bit by the Uproar, his feet skidding in the sand as he was pushed back. Mochi hopped behind him as the water Pokemon pulled the single leech seed vine off of himself.

"Osha osha!" Dali said, placing a flipper on Mochi's forehead to push him back. He meant to say, no, stay back. Mochi happily obliged with a hop and was suddenly off again, chasing leaves, as though the whole thing hadn't happened.

Dali, who took fighting more seriously, looked at Darumi with a serious gaze. He drew his shell to his side, then stepped forward to point at the fire pokemon.

"Osha oshawott!" he said, declaring he wasn't going to let someone bully his friends. The shell glowed and a blue blade projected from it, but he wasn't going to attack just yet. He was hoping his typing alone would intimidate the fire thing away.

Uproar brought a certain vitality with it. One that stopped you from doing what you could do, you were lost in a train of thought, lost in the noise of it. You might be able to train to control it, but Darumi had no such training.

He must've looked like a bast, he thought somewhere in the back of his mind, like he was out of control. He couldn't stop it now, he didn't want to, the feeling of it. Compelling, as were such moves that caused one to repeat an action endlessly. Once it started, there were few things that could stop it. Falling into a lake and getting an Aqua Jet to the face, for example.

So, Darumi sounded off again, Dali's words lost to him. He couldn't see that his battle was over, not yet. Uproar came again.

Taking no chances with such an aggressive Pokemon - who, btw, Dali probably thinks is wild - the Oshawott launched himself forward, wincing from the loud Uproar. He pulled the blade back as he moved to step forward, then slashed the Razor Shell diagonally up. Once the blade was up in the air, he twisted and shot a Water Pulse directly at Darumi to shoot him backwards.

((You know when I said I'd post after class? Well...))

Except Telekinesis didn't exactly work like that; the only way to cancel its effect being Gravity. Baku wouldn't stop using the technique just because the Solosis used it. The Hypnosis was not a signal that he ended, since Telekinesis was a move that lasted for a period if time. The consequence being that Hitmonlee would now be caught in a mental tug-of-war; the winner of which would be the one with the strongest mental power. Not that Baku had used Calm Mind, most likely putting it in a stronger position than the Solosis. And if that wasn't true, another Calm Mind followed, increasing the moment it was used, strengthening the hold on Hitmonlee.

George bounced forward, continuing his Uproar assault on whatever opponent. Probably Hitmonlee, seeing as how it was closer.

"Psybeam." After, Baku would rip the Hitmonlee away from Solosis' hold and slam Hitmonlee into the ground, firing a Psybeam at it.

((Actually, I meant to post, but my iTouch ended up in the 20 percent red, and I need my music to survive at school.

Artemis, I think Mochi has hopped his way into my heart <3 ))

Alive and wild, it was how he felt. Lost in it, lost in the Uproar. It wasn't intoxicating, but it was emotional. Like a child lost in a tantrum, all reason faded away. He twisted as the blade came, moving around it and his jaw opened to release the sound again. Only, as it came, he was blasted with the Water Pulse. He felt himself fall backward, hitting the ground and rolling up to his feet.

His eyes were wide as the world bled back into view, reason slowly came back and he felt the fatigue p***k away at the corner of his consciousness.

I'm losing.. He looked at Dali. Was this my opponent? His eyes shifted to Mochi. No, that was. Why am I fighting him? The events began to replay in his mind but he couldn't make sense of them, not this tired.

He strained as his body seized again. His eyes settled on Dali. His chest puffed, the fire came and he clenched his jaws as the paralysis hit again. He felt the chaos of it,it was going to explode again. Torch him internally. He shut his eyes.

Control it! He'd trained with his fire for so long, he could do something now. Sustain it in his mouth, control it. It didn't burn here, he was fine here, he had to control it here. He felt the form manipulate, change and shift. Latch onto his fangs. His eyes opened, his jaw parted, flames flicked across his fangs, dancing wildly and chaotically.

Fire Fang, prepped and ready.

((I have no clue if you are being sarcastic, but I like Mochi too. biggrin Plus actual mochi is delicious. hmm- As long as it's not got red bean paste in it... I like red bean paste, but not so much of it...))

Dali had a look of determination on his face that would be seen for a moment. He disappeared in a flash, the necessity of having to use the newly learned Aqua Jet allowing him high speed movement. If he had trouble controlling it at all before, he didn't in that moment. He reappeared behind Darumi, Razor Shell readied.

[I won't let you hurt my friend,] he said as he slashed from behind.

((Nah, I'm being quite genuine. He puts such an adorable image in my head! And I agree. It really is good. I like fruit fillings in it.))

Darumi's eyes widened as Dali disappeared.

[Where-

The Pokemon spoke from behind him. He twisted around only to be caught by the slash. It cut clean across the skin, skin breaking and blood coming from the wound. It wasn't fatal, but it was a clear indicator that this match was over. His footing was lost and he fell backward, away from Dali.

The fire in his mouth dispersed all at once, the fire blinking away as it danced one last chaotic motion.

No!

A cry of pride. Lost in his mind, he reached, mentally, his will driving him. He reached out, but he caught nothing.

Pride is such a stupid thing to fight for. Henrietta's words echoed in his mind. She sounded so sad, so pained. That's right, that day she'd taken a Hydro Pump for him.

He hit the ground, his eyes closing, one last image, it looked so far away. Mochi bouncing, happily, playfully. The scene bled into darkness and Darumi fell into unconsciousness.

A green crosshair glowed on Wukong’s body like a tattoo as soon as he grabbed onto the painter’s tail. And then the sky rumbled. Primal instinct told him that meant there was going to be thunder. He didn’t have to look up to know what was coming next.

In a last ditch effort, the monkey pulled back on D-Vee as he had intended and yanked him up into the air, whipped up over Wukong’s head. In this position, the Smeargle would take the brunt of the attack, unless he could escape the sheer speed of the wickedly fast Thunder strike.

As for Wukong, by holding onto D-Vee’s tail he too would be electrocuted if the Thuner blasted into the pokemon. If D-Vee used that Extremespeed technique, he’d continue to hold one so he could get pulled away to avoid the electric attack and keep fighting. The worst case scenario was if D-Vee took the attack. Wukong could not keep up this sparring if he took the conductive shock of the Thunder attack.

He just hoped it was enough to take out D-Vee if it hit.

In the lake, Salieri pulled her head back on wriggled it out of the way, grasping at Emi’s breather in the meantime after her attempt missed as well. The two girls were doing identical things, locked in a never ending struggle of grasping for each other’s scuba masks. Sal took a second to think how if Luka was still watching, he’d probably think it was kind of hot.

While they floated and struggled, Salieri swayed her weight upwards so she was upside down and slid her hands back to grab Eunmi’s wrists. Holding onto the Asian girl’s longer arms, the much smaller Salieri curled into a ball and spun around. When she uncurled, she was right side up.

If she wasn’t floating right now, she’d be standing on top of Emi’s shoulder’s. To make sure she had them in position, she pulled Emi’s arm’s up over her head, and then pulled herself downwards slightly.

A true warrior of the Shaolin way was able to feel the blood in their veins and control everything inside their bodies. They were rumored to attain mystical fighting prowess by extending this ability to the fullest. Salieri believed that she would one day get at that mystical level, but she wasn’t quite there yet. But since precision was necessary for her stunts, her dexterity was on point in more than just her hands.

Her toes touched to the side’s of Eunmi’s face, and with them she tried to quickly grab onto the breather and slip it right off of her opponent’s face by pulling her legs up quickly and catching the strap to the breather in her teeth.

If anything, she’s probably surprised by this. I bet my toes are really cold right now.

On the land, Chen Zhen's ears perked up when he overheard Dali. What's going on there?

The Pansage ran over to Darumi and Dali, jumping up and clapping his hands. He pointed his palms to the ground, and in a flashing circle of green arrows appeared his Air Balloon. Chen Zhen hopped onto the grey orb and floated above the two.

[Wow, opponent switch! You've gotten a lot better since we last battled!] he told the otter, genuinely impressed by his speed.

((Chocolate or green tea ice cream - you should try the ice cream if you ever get a chance. I'm not a huge fan of green tea, since its so bitter, but it makes REALLY good ice cream. Not too sweet, but just enough. :3))

Dali let the blue blade disappear, a splash of blood smacking the ground as he did so. He stood over the fire pokemon with concern, looking off to see Mochi bouncing around. The pokemon stopped abruptly when it saw the fire pokemon on the ground.

"Nee...?" it murmured. He hopped over. He placed a leaf gently on Darumi's stomach. It wasn't like a Petilil, the leaf wouldn't do anything to help, but Mochi didn't mean for the Pokemon to get hurt that badly.

[You should be more careful,] Dali said, his brow furrowed. [Are you hurt?]

"Nee! Cottonee!" it chirped, having no visible mouth, but looked at him happily anyway. Even in poke speech, it was hard to discern the babbling the Cottonee spoke, but it seemed alright.

[Th-thanks,] Dali said sheepishly, glancing at Chen Zhen. [You wouldn't happen to be any good at healing, would you?]

It didn't matter that Salieri's toes were cold - the fact that feet just grabbed her face made Eunmi gasp, spluttering in surprise as she lost her breathing device. Her eyes widened and she mouthed an inaudible, "s**t!"

She wriggled quickly, trying to escape so she could make her way to the surface.

D-Vee withdrew his hands as he was pulled, curling to tuck into a ball. His tail glowed and the paw on his back did as well, activating Endure as he braced for the impact. It was risky, because it meant one more hit would knock him out, but the Thunder probably would regardless.

The Thunder struck, a giant bolt crashing down to strike both of them. D-Vee cried out in pain, his eyes clamped shut.

Wukong's eyes widened. Endure. He hadn't seen that one coming.

ZAAAAP!

"BLAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"

The Monferno, crispy like overcooked potato chips and still smoking hot, let go of D-Vee's tail as he spun on his heel. After a full rotation, he fell onto his back in a daze.

[Sparring...is over....for now...urrrg,] he coughed, wisps of grey smoke popping up with each one.

And right after that, his trainer burst up through the surface, proudly holding up Eunmi's breathing device. "Winner!" she cheered before falling back into the water. The Battle Girl swam for the surface, keeping it together enough to not grin underwater.

Chen Zhen's tail popped the balloon, letting him return it to the hammerspace where he kept it (his leaf hair) and landing on the ground next to Darumi. The Pansage looked down at his hands.

[...actually...]

The training with Robby's Pignite, Bacon, was also for Chen Zhen. His Recycling technique was something he wanted to advance, because-

[I have this idea.]

He clapped his hands together, and green arrows of light spun around them in circles. Chen Zhen kneeled down next to Darumi. [I've been thinking of way to make my healing something more.]

He pressed his palms against the Darumaka's side. The whole area of the wound now had the green arrows spinning around it, giving of wisps of green light that smelled like sage plant. The loose blood began to seep back into the body, and the broken skin started to knit itself.

When he removed his hands, the wound was almost entirely closed. There were still bits of skin and drops of blood on the ground that Dali had slashed away. Without those elements, he could not fully heal the slash. He could only mend it with as much material as he was given. He could not heal more for something less with his Recycle technique.

He grinned, barely able to contain himself. [That's the best I can do,] he told Dali sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. He hoped Salieri would come over soon, he wanted her to see what he had done.

[That's really impressive,] Dali said, looking the Darumaka over. [I just hope he's calmed down when he wakes.]

Eunmi gasped for air as she broke the surface of the water. She spluttered for a moment, arms wavering to keep herself afloat until she caught her breath. Once she did, she slowly paddled and stepped onto the sandy shore.

"G-good... match..." she said, her hands on her knees. Her bathing suit cover up clung to her frame tightly, drenched with water, probably weighing her down a bit. She smiled as she twisted to look at Salieri.

"Sorry if that wasn't really a challenge," she said, pausing to breath. "I've never fought in water before."

"Osha...!" Dali said, waving his shell to get their attention. Come over, he said.

D-Vee meanwhile, had been thrown to the ground and he rolled, arms spread as he lay on his stomach. His paw print on his back made a funny shape, like a paint splatter, and slowly was reforming into a paw print as he caught his breath. He looked a little burnt and seriously exhausted, but he managed to wobble to his feet. He pulled his tail forward and drew an oval shape on the ground with two little diamond shapes next to it. It glowed and a shower of sparkles fell over him - Recover. He fell back to the ground in a seated position and sighed.

He should have been able to avoid getting that close to being beat. Was there something wrong with his technique...? It had been years since he'd had a proper battle.

Kijin finally managed to get back on the paved path after wandering through the brush and tall grass. He sighs lightly and looks around blinking a little as he looks around at the area,"Man took me long enough to find my way out of that place." He stretches his back a little before looking around at how barren the path was,"Hmm it has been a while since I actually trained let alone used any of my new pokemon maybe it is time to give them some training."

He pulls out three pokeballs releasing his three pokemon Venipede, Blitzle, and Purrloin. Once the pokemon were out Blitzle let out a cry as sparks start to fly from its mane hitting Venipede making it jump and begins to charge at Blitzle. Purrloin manages to move out of the way from the sparks and climbs a nearby tree and watches the two pokemon start to fight. "Oh boy....maybe I should have brought out one at a time until they calm down a little bit."

He grabs two of the pokeballs and points them at their respective pokemon returning both Venipede and Purrloin leaving only Blitzel out at the moment, the pokemon looks around a little surprised by the disappearance of the other pokemon. It looks around and looks at Kijin with a heavy snort looking ready for a fight."Well then looks like your still full of energy....I know just the perfect friend for you." He grins and pulls out another pokeball and unleashes the Steelix from its pokeball. "Ok Steelix give Blitzle a work out but don't knock him out just wear him out, ok?", he says to the large pokemon giving a thumbs up the pokemon returns with a nod understanding and soon the two pokemon start to battle each other.
