Kyo performed the Substitution Technique without hesitating once he caught sight of the metallic glint of needles in Benkai's hands. He watched from afar as the needles thudded against a thick log and was about to perform the Teleportation Technique but then he narrowed his eyes in thought. 'I really don't want to waste that much chakra...He's persistent, I'll give him that. But at this rate, the fight'll never be over. Alright then.' He took out his fans again and with a flick of his wrists, they began rotating at a dangerous speed. He flung them again towards Benkai again, one aimed at his left shoulder and the other at the abdomen, but this time Kyo rushed forward, running behind his fans and ducked down in case Benkai decided to use any more needles and waited for the fans to hit their targets and for his next move. Different strategies and situations were already running through his mind. Right before the fans could hit their target though, Kyo jumped up from his crouching position, caught the fans, and jumped back a few feet away from Benkai, panting. "On second thought, something's come up. Tch, too bad. I wanted to have more fun," Kyo smirked before disappearing in a plume of smoke and not even bothering to explain himself.

The moment she had gotten halfway into the fields she had been cut off from Noctis, a swarm of undead pumpkins swarming around her. A slight scowl marred her facial features as she counted four. At least she hadn't been boxed in. Of course, the moment she thought that one of the fiends circled her from behind. Never mind then... Rolling her shoulder she smiled then, the pumpkin cronies swaying to and fro in their indecision on when to attack her. "Well, I don't have all day." She said, her voice chirpy despite her drastic situation. They all came at her at once, Jae going through a series of hand signals to summon her clones. One squatted down Jae using her as a sort of lever to jump up and over the swarm that was closing in on her. They attacked the clones, tearing them up. They were animalistic in their frenzy and didn't seem to notice immediately that she had tricked them and had ended up behind them now. Her bright eyes had narrowed by then, her own instincts kicking in. She was trained to show no mercy, she had been trained to feel no remorse when she attacked and she had certainly been trained to take down whomever attacked her. In a fluid motion she had produced a set of Kunai's and ran them through the necks and sides of the creatures. Her lesson from fighting them at the academy when she had first confronted them had been to decapitate them. As they staggered and fell to the ground, she held her arm out, a large crimson circle forming in the middle of her palm. As if she was reaching into a void of darkness, Jae pulled at the red, a glowing red object coming out. As it met the air it solidified, a sword produced from her bloodline jutsu. Using her crimson blade, she decapitated her enemies, holding onto her sword and taking one as a prize with her to later on to the Hokage, her version of a souvenir. Jae took off then, sprinting to catch up to Noctis.

Once she had found him she slowed down, deciding she would present this to him for the mean time. Tossing it at his feet she ran the hem of her clothes over the ruby colored part of her sword, clearing it of orange goo. "Seems like they don't want us here... at least not together anyway." Her expression was oddly cheerful, her mask perfectly intact. Jae was fuming on the inside. Twice she had been attacked by these stupid pumpkin things.

Jae didn't respond with any words, instead she bent her knees slightly, using a barely noticeable amount of chakra to propel herself high into the air. Grabbing onto the lowest branch, she used it as leverage to swing onto the next branch, resembling a gymnast rotating over a bar. Squatting on the higher branch she looked down at Noctis. "I'll stay up here. I'm tired of playing with the pumpkin heads. This gives you the spotlight now. Whoever we are chasing might not have that sensor ability and we could luck out in an ambush strategy." Jae proposed, trying to steer clear from stepping on his toes still. He was of a higher rank than she was, undoubtedly he already had something in mind for himself. Jae didn't depend on anyone to think for her not even her teachers, not that she had any. Her independence had given her that sense of initiative and with it came her reluctance to wait on others to give her orders aside from the Hokage. He was in lead of the mission, if he needed her to back him up, she would but if there was some possibility that she could make things easier and more interesting for herself she would do so.

Jae lurched forward, landing on another branch further out. It took a few tries to judge the trajectory properly and get a good sense of footing in each step but she got the hang of it. Speed was not her main sense of worry, it was staying as quiet and hidden as possible. This was supposed to be a stealthy mission after all.

Noctis looked over as the girl jumped into the trees. He then began to sprint into the forest near the fields. No doubt this man's hideout was somewhere near. These pumpkins were meant to protect something. Or else they would be out in the village destroying things. And the fields seem to be untouched which meant they didn't want attention. He continued running through the tree at a slower speed to allow Jae to keep up with him.

Jae readied her crimson sword in case the fiends acquired the ability to jump high distances and came at her from the brambles she was now leaping through. She easily kept up with Noctis who seemed to be holding back quite a lot. Her eyes narrowed slightly. She wasn't a child nor was she weak. If he underestimated her the entire time she would be the only one looking down on him. Things around them seemed to get quieter, Jae's attention tuned into the finer things. Nothing was a miss which meant they were on the right track. Now it was only a matter of time before the found something or the person causing this.

Noctis stopped he stood straight and looked around. There was another reason why he was going slower. So that the pumpkins could catch his presence. If they went too fast they might just pass the entrance to the hideout. As he looked around several glowing eyes began to surround them. Noctis smirked, their numbers had increased dramatically. Trying to keep someone away from a certain area."We should be close now, lets deal with these first though."Noctis slowly pulled his black katana out of its sheath as the temperature dropped severely. The pumpkins attacked some tried to wrap vines around him and others tried jumping at him. Noctis slashed at the vines and then cut right through the pumpkins jumping at him. They really didn't seem that much of trouble but if Jae wanted to she could jump in at any moment.

The moment she noticed that Noctis was stopping, Jae halted, taking a seat on the branch she had landed on. She was a few paces behind Noctis, staying true to what she was supposed to be doing, watching his back. Unfortunately they had ended up in the damn box she hated so much and as she looked down at the ring that had enclosed around Noctis she wondered idly if it would do her good to even waste effort to assist him. She was sure he could handle it but it would be very impolite if she just stayed seated where she was. With a small sigh, she tossed her own sword down at the head of one of the fiends off toward the right. The blade imbedded itself into it's skull, the creature letting out a high pitched wail in response. Unfortunately for it, that alone didn't kill it. Jumping down, she used her momentum to topple the fiend over from above and grabbing the hilt as she collided with him she pushed the whole of the blade deeper into it's Pumpkin cranium. With a sideways sweep she leveled the blade in a horizontal direction from the inside and she pulled up, cutting the Pumpkin's head in half from the middle. It staggered and collapsed, Jae not bothering to attempt at saving it for a souvenir. She was already moving onto the next opponent, a slight smirk twitching to life at the corner of her lips. She was having fun, despite her annoyance with these redundant creatures.

Wanting to save Chakra and keep her tricks to herself, Jae relied on her blade, hacking left and right, up and down as she downed the relentless foes. It wasn't long until she had done her part, her icy blue gaze lit up as she turned to look at Noctis. With her adrenaline coursing through her veins she was more than alert now and it had caused a light flushing of her cheeks. This was much more entertaining than training on her own. "This is getting old." She stated simply, her expression of enlightenment saying otherwise. Jae was a women of many expressions and many responses, some which never added up. This was one of them. This was fun for her, no matter how she tried to pass it off as something fleeting. She blinked rapidly and almost comically at that as she looked at the number he had faced off against. Whistling, she smiled, her childish grin eerie."Sunbae is actually good." She said, presenting a back handed compliment to him. Her sarcasm was notorious, reason being for her almost null amount of friends in this village.

Despite having orange goo being flicked in her general direction Jae didn't flinch or shy away. Instead she stood her ground and smiled, her grin cheshire like in appearance. So he has a sense of humor... She thought to herself, happy that she was not stuck with another Reiko. That thought alone almost put a damper in her mood. Shaking it off, she waved her hand, as if tossing of his comment. She paused, feigning as if she just caught on to the jest of his words. Pouting she looked at Noctis, narrowing her eyes."Girl?!" She said, ignoring the meaning of what he was saying and zeroing in on a ridiculous portion. "Not girl, Sunbae. It's Jae and you are doing a very good job keeping up with me, considering your age." Her mock pout smoothened out to a smug expression. She could do this all day but she was sure they were going to lose such leisure able moments in a few minuets. As he sheathed his weapon, Jae griped the handle of her sword more tightly. The moment she dispelled her blade she would have to use more of her blood. Already she was drained in one arm. She was going to have to be careful about how much of her bloodline she used now so she would go armed for the time being. "Well, don't strain yourself too much, Sunbae. I'm going to stay hidden for the time being." In a little sort of hop she was back up where she had been minuets prior. Looking down at him she waited for him to take the lead once again. Her blue eyes flickered just over his shoulder and up ahead. She was feeling a little on edge now, not that she would ever admit. It was better if they met this foe head on already instead of staying in suspense.

He looked over at his sword made of blood."Oh don't worry I won't I'm just getting started."He crouched over the ground and began to follow some drag marks, no doubt the pumpkins made them as they moved. He began to follow them slowly so that he wouldn't lost the marks, it was like taking a walk in the park.He continued the drag marks till it lead him to a hill, it was covered in vines Noctis pushed them aside to reveal a large boulder blocking what seemed to be a doorway. He knew this was the place. He noticed a single seal on the boulder, he tossed a Kunai at it but it was deflected."Some kind of barrier seal..."

Jae stiffled her laughter from where she was perched. I know you are older, that was my point. She didn't say anything in response, instead she left it open for his discretion. Watching his back while he focused on the trail, Jae's expression went from aloof to blank very quickly. So, they were at the right place. Now, it was only a matter of getting through the barrier. Jumping down, she decided it was now prudent to stay within close distance from one another. "Obviously...so how do we get through it?" She asked him, looking off towards the right. She lazily swung her sword in a rotating circle. If it deflected everything then brute force was going to be pointless, unless countered with something stronger than itself. Wasting Chakra to get to that degree was foolish, they needed to save whatever they could for what was inside. "Almost makes one wish there was a key." She said sarcastically, her gaze wandering to the left now. Despite her nonchalant mannerism she was very much on alert.
