As Kagae would raise his cup once more he found that he was shaking and wobbling too much to pour it into his mouth. Placing the cup back down he complied with being knocked out as his forehead slammed onto the table.

Kagae lasts through 3 full rounds of shochu consumption. He doesn't manage to stay conscious after his 4th, however. Miyako! Can you outlast the Crab?

The heat from Lord Sun seems rather unbearable today, as everyone drags their feet and needs to take constant breaks. You make TERRIBLE time.

Despite the longer day, the sun sets long before any of you arrive at your destination: Kuwagatamushi Mura.

By the time you arrive, all the peasantry has settled in for the night, and only the light of Lady Moon even informs you that you've even arrived.

Ujina Denbe, since you got the highest Athletics roll, you're at the head of the pack when you bump into a banner at the edge of the village. It's hard to see at first due to it's dark colors, but as your eyes adjust, it is clearly a banner bearing the Scorpion Clan Mon.

Taking the sake with a sigh, she looked at it dubiously and then drank and hoped she wouldn't regret it.

They were well past due, and with the extra time it had taken for them all to get along, with the rest apparently even more worn from their travels than he felt, the Hare was eager to just get into the town and relax for the night. At the rate they'd gone, he didn't think they would have much option left but to take a full day of rest to get everyone in order for more travel. He almost disregarded the banner as he came across it in the eagerness to get them all some sleep.

Almost.

"Hold- something's wrong."

Just as quickly as he recognized it, the hairs on the back of his neck all stood up and he called the wardens to a stop in a suddenly hushed voice. He took a look about for any signs of men who could spot them here, mostly toward the town, but if this had really just happened it wouldn't be unreasonable to think there might be scouts about.

"Kojiro. Miyako-san."

Tersely, but still low, he called them forward, rather hoping their Crab would have the sense to keep quiet if he noticed the banner himself. The scouts' confused story was making a great deal more sense now.

"Can either of you explain this?"

It seemed the Scorpion had taken over Kuwagatamushi Mura.

Kojiro strained his eyes in the darkness, trying to make out subtle indications on the mon to indicate exactly who it would belong to. If only he wasn't so tired!

If there are people hidden in the shadows, they are too skilled at their art for the likes of you to spot them.

But no, it looks like everyone has turned in for the night, as far as normal people go, such as the peasantry of this village.

The mantis courtier would trudge along with the rest of the pack, wondering whether or not he had overdone at at last nights meal and was paying for it now. Clearly he needed to work on his constitution, for he didn't want to make late night arrivals a habit - or more accurately, he didn't exactly want the party to wind up mugged one of these dark and spooky nights.

He would meander behind the Bushi in the lead who were seemingly rather paranoid all of a sudden. Which, while not unusual, either meant a legitimate problem or that he was going to have to make up for them doing something stupid.

"What's wrong? Is this the wrong village or something? I could have sworn we went the right way; however long it did take us to get here..."

Hisashi, you can give me a TN 15 Perception/Hunting roll to retroactively recall your heading/bearing. It's higher than normal due to the fact that the sun has already set.

Unless someone gave you a very, very, VERY wrong map & set of directions, you've been on the road you were supposed to be on, going the northwest direction you should have been going.
