The Fallen had fled their land, hoping to escape the curse that plagued their people. Perhaps if they left their hearts behind, they could do the same with the curse. They could be free. And for a time, it seemed that they had succeeded. The land they had found was definitely better, they were free of the pain that had always eaten away at their bodies...
Though they had freed themselves, the curse was not so easily beaten. It was tenacious. Persistent. When two of the Fallen found themselves with three children of their own, there was hope that they would grow up free of the curse.
It was not to be so. The curse persisted even here in two of the children, slowly beginning to eat away at the strength of their wings, showing in the wear and tear on their halos...
...but one...one showed no such signs. He was a wonder to the Fallen...one of their own...but with no signs of the curse. Could he be a good omen for their future? Or something else entirely? Only the future could say...
