Spencer got into one of the vans and waited for them to go. Unfortunately he got stuck sitting beside a student that had respiratory problems and was nasally, wheezing, and snorting.


Christopher got into an SUV and resumed reading.

Avery zipped up her jacket as high as it would go as the breeze of the open door chilled her even more. She looked over as Whit slipped in and sat down in a huff next to her. Bringing in a puff of air that was almost warm.

Whit glanced at Avery as he reached back for his seat belt. He buckled and noticed as he did so that Avery had her hands tucked into her sleeves. Christmas couldn't come soon enough for this girl.

"Thank you" Thomas said in his ever so lightly accented voice. "The vans are just rentals, but the SUV's are fairly fun" he added with good humor. "Everybody in and settled then?" He asked and looked around to make sure everyone was buckled. He could see Whit chuckling at his thoroughness now.

Smiling she nodded and turned to look at Tomas.
Which is where she froze, for, although she had something to say, apparently she'd forgotten how to talk.
"Ah....So....Uhm...we can...go...then?" she offered weakly.

Of course, Michishige was the last off the bus, and was still half-sleep as he got into one of the SUV's with Spencer. As soon as he sat down, he fell right back asleep.

Great. I'm stuck between wheezy and snorey. This isn't going to be a fun trip up Spencer griped in his mind.


Christopher was still reading in the SUV he was in.


Alex sat in another SUV. Those sitting by him avoided eye contact with him. Alex sat with his arms crossed as he usually did.

Avery warmed up quickly, and found Tomas to be an admirable person. He drove well and Whit had nothing but the warmest feelings for him. She rather avoided Ms. Powers general aura for the drive though, as the woman's swell of emotion made her blush, and she couldn't even pin point why. Tomas just seemed to affect Ms. Powers in an area she'd either never experienced before, or had had too far buried for too long to know how to deal with.
Besides, when her powers did seem to stray in that direction Whit would always look at her oddly.
She didn't realize her face was flushing.

Whit looked again from Avery to Ms. Powers to Tomas, sincerely hoping his girl was not crushing on Tomas and served only as a mirror for Ms. Powers emotions.
Tired of worrying he nudged Aves with his elbow and held out his hand. Loving the fact he didn't need to explain with words exactly what he wanted. Which was to play thumb wars. They played, Whit trying furiously NOT to win and simultaneously fend off Avery's long fingers.

They were constantly climbing as the snow came down in big puffy flakes, slower now as the trees blocked their decent.

"Ah here we are." Whit said seeing light shining from the buildings out of the corner of his eye.

"There's the main building" he said pointing straight ahead "even though it's seems smaller it's not. It's where my family always stays, and it has the heated pool in the basement."


"That's the outdoor spa, for Shige. I'm sure he'll want to try it." He said pointing again as they passed it and a side building on the right.



They passed one more building on the left before arriving at the main driveway. but as it was tucked away slightly and had a smaller building nestled behind it, it was clearly the overflow building with an attached garage. Whit certainly didn't seem to bother with mentioning it.

Karley and Telemachus were duking it out on a pair of gameboys, and, if you knew what to hear for, you could tell Tele was losing by the noises he was making. Well, that and the noises Karley was making, on top of her screaming in her head, YEAH! I WIN!


Jordan felt a sinking feeling when she saw the outdoor spa. She hadn't heard about it, and wasn't sure if she'd packed a swimsuit or not. She sighed and pushed it out of mind, not one to let something small like that get in the way of getting excited by the look of the mansion.

"Here we are" Tomas announced shutting off the engine and turning. "It's getting dark so I suppose we can just unload all the kids luggage in the main building for now while we sort out rooms.There should be hot chocolate and snacks waiting for them already." he said it to both Ms. Powers and Whit, but as Whit was currently busy trying to make sure he held onto Avery's hand for as long as possible.....Ms. Powers was all that was left.

She simply nodded and hopped out of the vehicle as quickly as possible. Maybe she could figure out a room plan before he took his coat off, so he wouldn't be as much of a distraction. ,....but then...she didn't know how many rooms were where, or ...WHIT! That's who she could use!
She snagged the boy's hand as he exited the van and reached in to help Avery down, which resulted in a mini train of Ms. Powers, Avery and Whit heading for the main building.

Telemachus ended up having to drag Karley out, both of them still playing the game. He picked up both their luggage easily and followed the three in front, both having an uncanny ability to walk without looking.

Jordan resisted the urge to check her luggage now, and just carried it with her, following Ms. Powers, Avery, Whit, Tele and Karley, who she could see a little bit ahead. She floated over the snow, transferring a little bit of power into her bag to reduce its weight.

Avery was tugged along blindly as she was unable to see behind all the snow and blowing hair in her face. Luckily her small group reached the chalet quickly. She shed her coat, though thought she might be going in slow motion or something, as Ms. Powers was already out of hers and her boots and walking across the floor to the kitchen table with her bag, reaching in to boot up her computer.

Whit was bid to follow and as attached as he was to Avery didn't want to seem creepy, and thus followed. Taking Ms. Powers directions and answering her questions, all of which came before her computer even fully booted.
He was fully engaged and satisfied as Avery had floated over, with no one else in the room to hang with. She leant on the counter with her elbows.

Such were their positions as everyone started filing in with their luggage. Tomas being nice enough to haul in Whit, Avery's and Ms. Powers as well.

Christopher marked his book and gathered his bags. He began going in with them.


Spencer didn't carry his bags with his arms. He used his manipulation powers to carry the bags in for him. No need to make himself tired the first day they got there.


On the other hand, Alex carried all his bags in, even if he had the powers not to have to. However, he always wanted to do things that helped build up his strength. He didn't want to become a weakling.
