Eva accepted the helmet and lowered it over her head, noticing the wide view. She felt so enclosed though, so...trapped. She pulled it off immediately, holding the helmet at her side instead. She would wear it only if they encountered trouble, but refused to equip it prior. As Scarlet asked the question, Eva nodded and silently started heading toward the cylinder.

I stepped closer to the door and it slid open. Both of my weapons, my rifle and my hammer and my rifle, were on my back. Same with the weapons from the rest of my family; we weren't going to just walk in bearing them... that wouldn't be good.

My eyes were shifting in an out between normal sight an energy sight now... I peered through the door, looking to see if there was anyone inside. It would be very difficult to hide from me in this state...

The elevator came to a stop, the doors slid open. Genesis stepped out into the hall beyond, then reactivated its internal sensors and map. Something felt...odd. It detected a presence outside the facility, about a mile away and a mile above. "Nova... there's an unknown entity blocking our exit. Why don't you find a place to hide Christopher in the meantime? I'll investigate."

Eva waited with the rest of them, watched Scarlet intently. Deep down, she felt a hint of that familiarity she'd had when the numbers first scrolled in her head. It was comforting. As the time passed and still no signs of activity occurred, Eva began her careful descent of the stairs. They spanned downward for what seemed infinity, leading far into the earth's belly. The temperature declined from the surface's mild climate to nearly 40º. She remembered this place all too well, after having scrambled up these stairs with a gun-firing robot in pursuit.

Nova nodded and gently escorted the boy away from the elevator, scanning the surrounding area for a safe empty place. She found a location she suspected to be safe, and she headed in that direction.

We crept silently through the halls, and we looked around.

Remember, Southeast people may be here too. I said quietly.

I doubt they will recognize us. Was Odessa's quiet response.

Still, better not to tip them off, yes? They might think we're Northerners. Came Lukas's near whisper of a response, surprisingly quiet coming from the big man dressed in gold armor.

Right. Yeah. Agreed.

Can't think of anything for Chris... I love how Raowan and Devon are the only two to have songs with lyrics. xd LOL ))


Eva ignored the family's exchange, and looked off in the distance of the opposite direction. She set down the helmet on the floor near the stairs, and started walking toward one of the round catwalks. She heard the whirring of Caretakers coming from multiple directions now, but did not hide or panic. She felt that familiar presence drawing ever closer, and that was enough to keep her from running. They noticed her, at least seven different machines, and closed in around the circle. Eva's eyes danced hopefully over them, searching, waiting... None of them were it.
There were four of the type with scanners, and three of Nova's generation. Each robot started to adapt a weapon in its arm, and still Eva made no move. She just stood, surrounded by enemies, waiting...

The 4 of us looked at each other. I sighed. We did not come here to get her killed!

We scurried between the gaps made by the caretakers. We stood around Eva, almost clustering protectively around her. Isabella rose her shield, but none of us really made any other move besides that. We each stared the Caretakers down. Eva was the only one not wearing her helmet, but there wasn't much we could do about that... she had left it behind on the stairs. We could only hope that she was trusting her instincts... cause we were trusting ours.

"Okay then, guess I'll watch then." Virgil said as he took a seat on the ground.

Dante opened his eyes and shifted his hair, revealing the demonic looking eye. "Erase." Dante commanded then suddenly the missiles disappeared. "Well, it's been a time and a half, but I best be going now. Toodles." Dante said with a smirk as he hair moved back over to cover his eye. Then before anyone knew it, he was gone, back into the real world, exhausted beyond belief. My God that was close. he thought grimly as he leaned himself against the wall. "This is Dante, er, could someone come help me up?" he asked sheepishly.

"Well well well, I dunno whether to call that one a draw or a Technicality." Virgil commented after the Corrupted disappeared.

(( O_O ... I'm wondering how Lukas got through the gaps... isn't he supposed to be a huge guy? xd *Notices little details.* ))

Reality set in when the others grouped around her, Eva turning to her comrades with nervousness, "I didn't want to get you all involved!"
It was a flurry of blades and gunshots, all seven robots leaping into action around them. She ducked down in the center, hands shielding her ears from the noise. Two of the new Caretakers lunged at Lukas with electrified blades, the third shot at Scarlet. Two scanner-bearing androids pounced on Odessa, while another sliced at Isabella and the final dived into the center of it all. Eva screamed as the Caretaker towered above her, aiming its gun for her head. She fell back, inched further away...
A hand firmly pulled at the collar of her armor from behind, and the world spun as Eva was removed from the circle with blinding speed. She heard the shot ahead of her, a millisecond too late. She felt her savior set her down a short distance away, looked around frantically to see who it was...

"Eva, stay here!" Genesis instructed the woman, already backing away toward the conflict again. Its gaze met with hers only a brief moment, but it could sense the torrent of emotion evoked in her. Familiarity. It returned to the edge of the battle, target locked on, and plucked another robot out of a mid-air leap. Genesis grabbed it by the arm, spun it around, and slammed the enemy into the wall behind them. Sparks flew from a very confused Caretaker as it slid to the floor.

((You'd be surprised what the big guy can do. He's based off of my mentor in the Mystic arts that I'm RPing right now. That's why he's so quirky. I'm playing a real person's personality. You know those tunnel mazes for small kids you might see at Burger king or McDonalds? My mentor is a big guy, like Lukas. I've seen him worm his way through one those things without much trouble at all. "These padded pillars aren't gonna stop me!"))

We didn't come here to let you get killed, Eva! I said as the caretaker's advanced.

Lukas suddenly had his maul on hand. The first robot's blade struck Lukas in the chest, but there was a sizzle and sparking as the ceramic in the armor did it's job and protected him from the electricity. He grabbed the thing by the arm holding the blade and shoved it in the way of the second. He other arm, the arm holding the maul, bluured, and he bright it straight up and brought it down on the second caretaker's head... it was too fast for a normal person too see.

I brought one arm up over my visor as one shot at me, the other reaching for my Hammer. I felt the impact, but the bullets bounced right off of the armor and pinged into the walls. I pulled it off of my back and dashed at the one attacking me, to bringing the hammer down horizontally on the robot's head and neck.

Odessa undulated out of the way of one of the scanner bearing robots. She grabbed one by the arm and jerked it to a stop, before kicking it hard right below the arm joint... if that worked it would rip the arm off and she could use it to bludgeon the robots with...

Isabella moved her shield so quickly it seemed to be there instantly. The electric blade hit the shield and she went to shield-bash the caretaker attacking her, which would knock it off balance. She then lashed out with the mace to smash off it's head...

Odessa and I noticed Genesiis as our parents delt with their respective Caretakers.

Hii Genesis! Fancy seeing you here!

((Hehe, I'd love to see that. xd I'd probably break those play-places now, with how violently I'd tumble around. 'Twould be World War 3. ))

Genesis knelt down in front of its broken opponent, ripped off the Caretaker's face plate, and removed one of many microchips within. It snapped the chip in half before its data could be transmitted to the main terminal. It half-turned toward the conflict, only to discover the battle already over. Then Scarlet greeted it. Genesis smiled as it stood up, "Hello! You were that presence I felt watching over Christopher, correct?"

Eva recognized that voice, that method of speaking... She pulled herself into standing, leaned partially against the wall for support. She approached the others slowly, every movement labored as if she were struggling in a current. The only struggle, however, was in her own mind. Eva stopped a few feet away from them, "Genesis..."
The robot turned to face her, tilted its head to the side in curiosity. It said something to her, but the words were jumbled as memories flooded her. She recalled the same images; the tank full of fluid, the green monitor, and the faceless robot kneeling over her. Her eyes started to tear up, and her voice was laced with every bit of pain she felt, "Genesis..."
Two strong-but-gentle arms wrapped around her in a hug, her sobs absorbed by a hard shoulder. The robot's hand stroked her hair.
"I'm glad you came, Eva." Genesis said with nothing but sincerity, and smiled down at her.

((Hehehe mrgreen He's not only my mentor, but my boyfriend too. heart I'm glad he's teaching me these things. Though crawling through a play-park is more stubbornness on his part. He's not gonna let a small space stop him XD))

I wandered over to Genesis, leaning on my hammer like a cane.

Yes... how could you tell?

Isabella and Lukas looked at each other as they finished off the last of the caretakers. They then turned and studied Genesis closely... They had never encountered a nice Caretaker before. It intrigued them.

So this is the famed Genesis?

{He's practically human.} Lukas commented in our little ancient language.

I watched him hug Eva, and as she broke down crying... again. I looked up to the robot and leaned against the wall next to them.

((EDIT: Did I mention he's also avidly reading this RP too? He likes how I portray the Mystic art and the character Lukas.))
