Truth be told he was rather occupied. Occupied when it came to producing his gifts as it were. Stretching his arms carefully and retracting them he'd find himself beneath the shade of the tree. He'd open his multitudinous amount of pockets and begin removing small wrapped packages. Better late than never was the mans thoughts. It seemed the man was a little shaky when it came to time constraints. He would notice a a gift for him beneath the tree...wait two? Toso didn't believe he harbored such popularity. He would lift one and curiously knew not who it came from. Upon opening it he found a pelt...was this a bears pelt? Squid and bears usually don't coincide but it was a lovely gift. He'd drape it upon himself before noticing another this one bearing the name Axel on it. It was a kunai? He'd approach the kunai and remove it only to have it split and provide a christmas message leaving behind a cheerful merry christmas message. Well now...it seemed the man who had treated him with such hostility during their first meeting had warmed up to him. Further analysis of the package Toso discovered a necklace. Real Men don't wear jewelry. That is something you must always remember Toso! His father's words echoed. Still it was an extremely considerate gift, assuming it seemed to have the touches of Axel's chakra and..iron sand? Toso wouldn't wear the necklace around his neck instead he attached it to the side of his leather belt. A collection of phials with multiple inks within them now filled its loops. He'd lock the necklace lacing it through one of the loops making it appear more so a key chain than a necklace. Surely his father would approve taking into account the necklace didn't bear feminine design. Speaking of his father his family was due to visit soon. After placing the last of his gifts his glasses sent off a glare from behind the tree briefly before taking off.

✰ Walking into the the town plaza Miko could see that the tree for the Holiday season had been erected. Well she'd come to lace what little gifts she could manage despite her lack of any true skill in the practice of wood-smiting and she lacked any tools for a properly finished product. Miko would put some thought and effort into each piece she'd made. Walking over to the tree miko noticed an odd pairing of Wanryoku and Samaru still as disabled as ever, but slung over the giants shoulder for some reason. Miko around the large man with her hands stuffed into her sleeves she'd come about to the side Samaru's head was handing and would wave to him before pulling form her sleeves to toss him something he hopefully could still catch. "That's a lil somethin I worked on for ya Sanmiitai-san. Just think of it as a good luck charm or somethin. If i was better at crafts I'd make ya a new am and leg, but I guess a totem for your "spirit" should be nice. In my belief there are two selves in this world, the spiritual self that grows on the spirit realm and the physical self that help the spirit grow. Though your body might be busted to crap you still got the spirit. hope you use that to help it grow. Welp, bye senpai's. Wan it's always nice to see ya around."
walking over the the Tree Miko would place some crudely warped gifts she'd had to get the materials for last minute from her father. The wood would still be rough to the hand, but over time weathering and simply the oils from human hands woudl smooth out the rough parts. Totems held unique meaning to her family and their religion. Though she wasn't very religious it seemed like something she'd have to confront in her life with the profession she'd chosen. Placing the gifts under the tree Miko would walk away from the area not speaking to anyone else after leaving Wan and Samaru. Hopefully she'd been able to give a little bit of levity or hope to Samaru given his condition. [Edit] Yet just before leaving Miko would notice the present from Tosokurai Picking it up she'd tuck it under her arm and would smile and whistle to herself show only slight tells of her obvious elation to the gift she'd gotten, which to be honest she didn't think she'd get anything given her past mistakes.

Arriving at the plaza, Hatsu figured she might as well get some new clothes as well. The ones she was wearing were wearing out, and not exactly the easiest to move in. Hatsu would stop with the group by the tree everyone had put up for the holidays. She would notice a few new objects by the tree, one of them had her name on it. Her duties as squad leader took priority over a gift, but she would be sure to pick it up. "In about two hours, I want everyone back here so we may share what we have found."

Axel walked with his arms crossed the entire time thinking how to answer Hatsu and her question for lack of heroics; the boy didn’t consider himself one to be partial to heroics, but he would do what was necessary to accomplish the mission, and in this case, it included not to kill them regardless of his own personal feelings towards thieves, which were some of the lowliest creatures to ever walk on this earth. “I’ll do whatever it takes to fulfill the mission, Hatsu, if that includes being a hero well so be it. Every good story needs a hero.” He gave Hatsu a smile, stroking his blade, soon after he spoke, the girl gave instructions, two hours, it seemed like a good time frame, maybe too much if she were to ask him, but she was the boss, and it might be more work than he would give it credit for. “Sounds good to me,” he answered lazily, putting his hands behind his head. “What if we find something that’s… not peaceful, and we can’t handle, we should probably have a signal of some sorts. Snow, Ice, and weird grey sand, all of us have some sort of ability that can travel some distance, I think a signal in the sky would be for the best, but its your call, Hatsu. Regardless of that, I think I’ll take the north side.”

Rin would follow her squad leader to the plaza, the tree was still up, they'd have to take it down soon. Shed also find another gift to her name near the tree as she walked close to Hatsu, she'd bend down and inspected it curiously. It was a tanto, the wrappings a light blue in color and it had snowflakes along it as well, the black scabbard made quite some contrast with it too. It was lovely, festive but also very good to match with her own unique capabilities. "Well then, guess I'll be thanking whomever made this for me if I ever find out whom it is" Shed say with a smile. Getting up and listening to Hatsus orders she'd nod lightly. "Two hours, got it." Shed nod and would begin her search soon enough, her new gift strapped to her hip, she would need to find a good place for all of her gifts after she was done, well at least the pelt and portrait, her new knife and necklace were easy to carry. " I have to agree, its for the best that we do have a signal and you're right anything unusual up in the air should be enough, after all not every day theres sand floating around. One clone would then walk down the southern path from the tree, while the other would throw up hand signs and walk up the side of a building, up to the rooftops. Hatsu would then go up to the tree, and take the small gift she had spotted before, looking at it as she exited the plaza square to the east. A cute figurine attacked to a small bit of string, she would have to find a place for it later.
Hatsu Putting away the charm into her tool bag Hatsu would then remove from it a small parcel she had received from her brother. Opening it she would find a couple of armored gloves. She would immediately put these on, seeing how they fit. Smiling, she made a note to thank him later. Shortly thereafter, she would find a modestly sized shop. Entering, she found it to be a store for random odds and ends. Adjusting her headband on her forehead she would walk up to the employee that was at the counter in the back of the room. "Pardon me, you wouldn't happen to know anything about any trouble in the area, would you?"
Clone 1 Scaling the wall of the building the clone would find its way to the highest point of that rooftop. It wasn't then best view, but that could be fixed easily. The clone looked down at the two squad members left in the square, especially Axel.
Clone 2 The clone would not find it hard to locate a decent store. with barely any walking, it would find a small ramen shop huddled away in between two buildings. Walking up to a man in the shop, the clone would lean on the counter in between them. "Hello, sir. I have a few questions to ask you. Do you know about any trouble in the market district as of late?"

Axel rolled his eyes at Hatsu and her idea that heroics were not necessary. Saying that she was wrong would be a lie, they were, in fact, just genin, but that didn’t mean that things could turn sour at any moment; they didn’t know just how well armed these guys were, or if they were civilians or people that could use ninjutsu and other such antics… But she was the leader, Axel would have to relax on this one, at least for now; he wasn’t about to mouth off against his commanding officer just as they began the mission, the idea left a bad taste in his mouth. “That’s a great idea…” Axel said, speaking about the clones Hatsu had made, he made a single hand sign and created Iron Sand from the ground bellow him; some of it would crawl up to his person, sticking to his skin as if it were some sort of armor, it would go into his pockets, and whatever remained turned into a single Iron Sand clone. The clone was almost identical to Axel, the main difference being that the clone lacked a katana, but it had other tricks it could use if the going got tough. “I’ll see you guys later, I guess.” Both the real Axel and his metal clone spoke and waved at the two girls before turning their backs on them and walking due north.
“Okay… Lets see, you take left, I take right, got it?” The real one said and the clone nodded at his instructions as they neared the northern part of the plaza. There were some shops here, as well as small parks and many children, not what one would expect for the hiding place of an army of bandits, but looks could be deceiving.
Axel’s clone made his way to the first shop he had available, a flower shop. “Excuse me,” the clone spoke softly, bowing to the shop keeper as he entered, as well as to anyone that may be inside. “I’m here to investigate some troubling news, something about people stealing around these parts?” The clone righted himself once he stopped talking and gave the keeper a warm reassuring smile in hopes that it would open up the people to speak in case something was wrong.
Axel for his part, found that the first place he stumbled into was a small children’s park where mothers were with their children in strollers and other such things. “Hey!” He called out in hopes to get everyone’s attention to him. “Has anyone seem some shady stuff going on around here? People stealing, and the such? I’m here on official business!” The real deal was... less tactful than his clone, to put it in simple and gentle terms

Atop that, iron sand that is almost, if not completely melted cannot be controlled by Satetsu bloodline means. Rank D: Small to medium amounts of earth/metal to iron sand. ( Knolls, small hills, etc. ) Hagane Bunshin no Jutsu [ Iron Clone Technique ] After performing the needed handsigns, the user will create a powerful clone composed of their iron sand. Because of its composition, the clone is extremely durable, however, it is also slower than its creator. Unlike other clones, whence this one is created, the user can further mold it with another technique. • Only one iron clone can be active at once.

The snow haired girl would see the exchange between her team mates and shook her head. "I'm staying out of that..." shed say in a low tone while leaving to her search, she would make the proper hand signs and soon enough the water near her would materialize into a water clone. It was still odd to have a clone she could touch and have it not vanish. "Alrigh then you go through the street vendors I'll stick closer to the people and shops." shed tell her clone whom would nod in agreement. Might as well not get the real her in trouble after all it was supposed to be something innocent and quick. Unlike the real Rin the clones headband was at a different angle around her waist. It was the easiest way to tell them apart. Soon enough the two would split somewhere along the way.
Rin would begin to investigate all through the shops, she had grown hungry so she also decided the occasional free sample was in order while she asked various shop owners if there was anything up. She also thought it would be a smart idea to ask the locals, often stopping closer to the older gentlemen using a coy and innocent behavior to gather any information they might have to give. The elderly men playing board games seemed to be the ones whom might yield the best result among the crowds. " Excuse me fine gentleman, I'm sorry for the intrusion but I was wondering if you'd heard any news or rumors of bandits in the nearby area? " She would ask a group of elderly men playing a board game she wasn't really sure which, she hadn't given it a closer look.
Meanwhile her clone was window shopping and asking local women, mostly mothers and families if there was anything they might have heard stopping a couple whom had a child with them. "Excuse me, do you happen to know if anything negative has been circulating around? Any news of bandits or other unfortunate things?" the clone would ask hoping to get some answers or some form of hint into any situation that might've happened. She hoped that the rumors were a lie and they could just report back quickly that they'd found nothing of interest.

Hatsu The store's owner was an older woman, white hair wrapped up in a bun on top of her head and a white and blue yukata adorning her small frame. She looked up at the genin with drooping eyes behind small spectacles, watching the dark-haired shinobi approach her. Confusion crossed her face briefly before her small eyes lit up with a memory. "Eh? Oh, right. You must mean the thieves from a few days ago--last weekend, I think. She chuckled and pointed toward the door. "I wasn't one of the shops they hit, but you can check with young Airi across the way. This old shop doesn't really have much worth taking to someone your age."
Clone 1 For the moment, there was nothing of note to be seen in the street below.
Clone 2 The man who ran the ramen shop had a large frame, and clearly worked as a chef, given the size of his belly. After all, the saying was not to trust a skinny chef; it meant they didn't eat their own food. The sudden question seemed to throw him a bit off guard, but he seemed clueless. "I had a dine-and-dash yesterday, but aside from that, I've only heard rumors about the thieves. I hear five stores were hit over two days, but no two thieves had the same face." Frowning slightly in concern, he picked up a bowl and started wiping it out. "Sounds to me like there's a band of them."

Axel Given it was the middle of winter and, although it wasn't snowing, snow lay heavy on the ground under a heavy sky, only a few people actually went to the park. The few kids that were there played with each other in the snow, building snowmen and making angels, as well as a barrier to start a snowball fight. A pair of talking women turned their heads toward Axel as he approached, giving him a dirty a look until they noticed the headband wrapped around his arm. The sight of it put them on edge, and suddenly they seemed nervous. Of course they would be, after everything that had happened recently. One of them, a blonde woman, spoke up with a glance at her friend. "I mean... everything you guys do in general is shady... No offense." It was clear she meant offense.
The other, auburn-haired with dark eyes, scowled slightly. "We'd be better off if the shinobi stopped fighting. What do you guys even do, besides fight each other?" The question became rhetorical as the women turned and walked away, fetching their children from where they played not far off.
Clone As the middle of winter, the flower shop was somewhat empty, only one customer anywhere in sight. A woman stood up from behind the counter, young, with dark hair and pale skin. She wore a pink flowery yukata and her hair was pinned back with an elegant barrette. Her head tilted slightly to the side, a slender hand going to her cheek in thought. "You mean the thieves? I caught a glimpse of one of them running from the bakery next door. Wearing dark, ratty clothes. But given his size, he couldn't have been any older than you are." She gave the red-haired genin a small smile and an apologetic bow. "You might want to check there for more. I haven't heard much, unfortunately."

Rin The men all looked at each other in confusion before one spoke up. He had peppered hair, but his gentlemanly mustache was solid gray. "You mean the ones that attacked a while back? When the residential district was destroyed?" He eyed the headband around her waist. "I thought you all took care of that problem..." A general murmur of concern passed through the group.
Clone The couple exchanged anxious glances. It was clear they didn't like the idea of talking about it with their child there. The mother scooped up her child into her arms, while the father spoke. "Besides half of the village being turned to dust? There've been thieves all over the place." He sighed and rubbed the back of his head. "The plaza was hit pretty hard last weekend. I heard a rumor that there's a bunch of orphaned kids behind the thefts. They might be hanging out in some of the ruins left from the attack, if that helps."
The woman gave him a sharp look, glancing at the headband at the clone's waist, and jerked her head in the opposite direction, indicating that she wanted to leave. Catching the look, the man sighed. "Look, sorry, but I really don't want to get involved in this." He took a quick step back before turning away altogether.

Axel’s face twisted with the woman’s words, she didn’t anger him, for the most part he actually agreed with her, shinobi were shady, in that she was right, they both were right, but to have someone believe that maybe, just maybe, the ninja didn’t have an interest in the villagers was… to put it simply, dangerous. “You’re right.” He said bluntly, untwisting his face and following the women. “they are shady, and sometimes even dangerous, but not all of them are like that. I too believed, and still believe, that shinobi aren’t the most… trustable bunch, but having worked with some, I can tell you that they are more like you thank you think. Ninjutsu may be dangerous, but it can also be beautiful.” As the boy ended his short speech he made a hand sign, a small portion of the Iron Sand he had stored floated behind him and formed into a flower, which then hardened into its solid state. He placed the flower’s stem between his index and thumb and handed it to the woman. Without another word, he turned his back on the woman and walked away.
The clone bowed back to the young woman and spoke back slow and soft. “Your assistance is welcomed greatly I’ll be sure to stop by your flower shop at a later moment in time.” The clone walked out of the store and caught sight of Axel at the other end of the street, it called him out by name. It was strange to hear a clone calling out for you, it was almost like one calling out loud to oneself, it rubbed him the wrong way, but with the villagers in mind, he tried to not make too much out of it. Once the two were together, the clone told Axel what he had learned. “Oh and, give me 50 Ryo.” Axel rose an eyebrow. “Why would you want 50 Ryo?” He crossed his arms. “I uh… I’m hungry.” Axel stared incredulous. The clone was made of metal, how could it get hungry?! “… You are a clone… I doubt you even have a stomach.” The Iron Clone put his hand on his chest and gasped. “Hurtful! You know what would make me feel better? 50 Ryo!” The real Axel mumbled and dug his hand into his pocket, then produced the money. Once the money was in his hands, the clone pat Axel on his forearm, but the clone was so cold he winced back.
The two boys turned their back on each other, the clone went right back to the flower shop, while Axel headed straight for the bakery. He pushed the doors open slowly and approached the counter. “Good day, sir. I’ll have that, no, the other one, thank you!” After ordering a pastry, he dug his hand in his pocket to produce the money. “Hey, you haven’t had problems at the bakery, have you? Some kids stealing, or something of the sort? I heard some news that you had been hit, I’d like to help capture whoever did this.” Axel would say, waiting for his response to pay up. Meanwhile the clone entered the flower shop and picked up a single blue and white flower and paid the woman with the 50 Ryo, he lingered in case she said anything, and then left due west to find Rin. He found the girl in the streets, or her clone better said. “Here.” He said offering the flower. “The real me is following a lead, it seems they might be kids, but they have hit places before. You find anything?”

Rin stared a bit sheepish, she had caused confusion and worry "I'm sorry if I've caused some concern but no, that problem was well taken care of I meant more like...well local thieves? Anyone stealing from stores or maybe even mugging people?" She'd ask the gentleman with the peppered hair and the gray moustache. "It seems like theres been a big amount of stores hit and its cause for concern." shed tell the man, and would make sure the others heard. She was doing her best to keep the situation from erupting into rumors or more trouble than necessary. She hoped the clone was having better luck. Meanwhile the clone had felt a less than friendly approach from the villager couple. They were clearly upset and had given her the cold shoulder which wasnt exactly good, it meant that she and other shinobi would have dificulty getting along with the villagers if things kept going as negatively as they did. The attack had a lasting effect on not only the shinobi but the village and it was starting to show its rather bitter fruit. She had wanted to say something more to them but they had brushed her off almost as quickly as she had approached after answering her questions. The man had been at the very least much more kind than his wife. The clone felt about as bad as the real thing would."Thank you for your help." the clone would bow to the man before he left. Soon enough Axel would show up with a rather lovely blue and white flower, althought his way of offering it was less than romantic it was still a lovely gesture. "Oh...um thank you." The clone would thank him with a gentle smile, had it been the real deal she might've blushed. "Well from what I gathared it appears to be some orphaned kids whom are behind the thefts. They're hanging around the ruins left by the attack or so the rumor goes." The clone would speak. It had managed to find out a good deal at least it was a lead and they hadn't come up blank. "We've got a bit more time might as well put it to good use." the clone would continue, perhaps a little more searching might yeild results. It would beign to head over to where the real Rin was after a quick bow to Axel.

Hatsu Hatsu examined what the older lady said carefully. Finding something she said to be peculiar, Hatsu pressed her on it. "Someone my age? Ma'am, you know something about the thieves don't you?" it wasn;t much to go on, but Hatsu was beginning to suspect that her culprits were not going to put up much of a fight, compared to what they had been prepared for.
Clone 1 The clone would watch and wait some more, creating two hatsuyuki clouds around her.
Clone 2 While the dine and dash was peculiar, the clone just decided to make a mental note of it for the moment. "Five other stores? Do you know any of them off hand?" The clone scratched the back of its head, trying to get as much information out of the man as she could.

Hatsu Once again confusion for a moment, but then her expression grew annoyed. It was clear the woman didn't like Hatsu's word choice. "Now look here, girl. You can't just go around accusing people." The way the black-haired genin made it sound was that she was purposely hiding something from her. "All I know is that the kids are supposedly around your age. You shinobi need to stop being so paranoid about everything. Accusing an old woman..." Done with being generous to Hatsu, the old woman turned away and grumbled back to her seat behind the counter.
Clone 2 The man thought for a moment, trying to remember everything he'd heard. "Well, a lot of the stores around here are odds and ends, so most were ignored. But I know the bakery was one, young Airi's jewelry... a couple of clothing shops, and the apothecary." Placing his hands on his hips, he frowned at nothing in particular. "Hope that helps."

Axel The women paused when Axel continued speaking, not having expected him to pursue the conversation. They looked down at the flower he'd produced and then at each other. Were they being flirted with by a kid? The auburn woman took the flower and they watched in silence as he strode off.
Once he and the clone parted ways, the baker waited patiently for Axel to decide on what he wanted. He was a middle-aged man with a mop of brown hair and gray eyes. Off to one side, a girl not much older than Axel himself worked on rolling out dough to prepare bread for the oven. Handing the red-headed genin his pastry, he took the ryo gratefully. However, on his way to the register, after hearing Axel's words, he paused and raised a brow in his direction. "Yes, actually." His voice was deep but warm. "A group of kids hit several stores around here. I thought it was fishy that a couple of preteens were ordering so much, but they claimed their parents gave them the money for it. Then they took off before they paid." He crossed his arms with a slight scowl. "Unfortunately, I'm not as fit as I used to be, and they were gone by the time I got to the door."

Rin The gentleman shook his head. "No muggings, but there were a group of kids that stole from some shops last weekend, if that's what you meant." Sitting back in his seat, he considered what he knew about the situation. "I think I heard the oldest was maybe fourteen or fifteen--around your age. But I don't know much more, unfortunately."
Another spoke up when he finished, and eyes turned toward him. "I was here during a couple of the thefts. Both times, they split up, so it's a bit hard to figure out where they went. But they all headed in the same general direction." He pointed in the direction of the residential district.
