"And already starting to look like you." Van said with a grin. "I'm taking this as a good sign that she'll grow up to be much better than her brother and sister. It's be nice to have someone in this family that isn't somehow connected to the world of thieves."

"We'll have to wait and see. Although, regardless of whether or not she ends up a thief, I'm proud she's my daughter." Mala muttured softly with a faint chuckle.

((*noms burger*))

"We still haven't come up with a name for her yet..." Van said softly, feeling a little guilty that they've had their baby girl for a while now and still hadn't named her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I have a couple ideas, but I don't know if they'd fit our little baby girl or not." Mala admitted, continuing to lovingly gaze at the little infant.

((*turns to list of anime/vidya games for "inspiration"*))

"How about....Anise?" Van suggested, a soft smile on his face as he gazed at their baby girl.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Anise...that sounds lovely." Mala smiled all the more as she said it. "Little Anise..." she muttered softly once again, gazing at that pretty little baby.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Anise it is then." Van said, his smile widening as well as he held a finger out for Anise to grab with a tiny hand.

((This is totally random, but there's this blog I read called Cake Wrecks. It's purpose is to make fun of badly decorated, yet professionally made cakes on an almost regular basis. For some reason, today's post made me think 'This seems like something Anime would get a kick out of.' So here's some random, cake-related lolz.))

Anise giggled slightly, grabbing onto Van's finger with a wide baby grin.

((I had a feeling you'd like it. XD There's a metric ******** (I almost typed 'feelong' and 'fruckton'. I CAN'T TYPE TODAY.) of archives too. If you liked those, then you should totally read them all and follow the blog ritualistically. It's hilarious. XD If you don't want to go through a few years' worth of bad cakes (sprinkled with awesome cakes on sundays) then at the very least look for the cake that inspired their mascot, the Naked Mohawk Baby Carrot Jockey and gaze on in confusion. XD ))

"Oh yeah. Definitely worth the pain." Van said with a grin.

"Definately. Oh, she's so adorable and sweet! I hope she always stays this way!" Mala cooed in delight.

"I'm sure she will for a few years." Van said, wiggling his finger for the baby a bit.

Anise giggled some more, squeezing Van's finger a couple more times.

"Certainly a strong little baby too." Van said with a chuckle as he let Anise squeeze his finger to her heart's content, so long as she didn't hurt him. "Good to know she came about before I lost all my power."

{Very muchly so. biggrin I lol'd when I first saw it. XD}

"Well, she is our baby. That, plus," Mala gave a pause for effect, grinning all the wider. "Her daddy's pretty damn strong himself - no matter his mortal standing."

Anise continued to giggle lightly, playing with her daddy's finger for a moment longer before tiring herself out and falling asleep.

Van smiled softly before placing a gentle kiss on their child's head. "Good night, Anise." he whispered so as not to wake her up. "It's like coming home with the baby for the first time without actually having to go home." he said quietly, returning his head to Mala's shoulder. "Although a nap does sound pretty good right now. I'm exhausted." he said with a yawn as he cuddled a little closer.

((I'm pondering about joining Return to Mushroom Kingdom, but wonder if the Mario canon involved includes the Paper Mario games or not. I was hoping to be one of the partners from the first game if so.))
