Running Character Total: 89 pts Character: Edalla and Green Moilath
While Edalla and Moilath had good luck in the water last time, Edalla wanted to do some hunting on the beach instead this time. It wasn't that she was afraid, no, she just knew there could be some good things to be found on the beach too. So she worked on gathering all she could, her green helping as well.
Edallamine...Moilath's mind spoke gently in her own. The small woman looked over to where her green was and knew something was up. She walked over to her with a sigh, before seeing a little green firelizard being shielded by her wing.
"Let me guess...you want to feed it and keep it,"Edalla spoke, feeling a pleading coming from her green. Boy, this scenario was very familiar, she mused to herself. She reached into her basket and pulled out some meat she had kept from her meal, in case she got hungry later. She offered it to the flit gently, watching it clamp onto it.

A dragon (your dragon maybe?) becomes a floating platform. He or she takes you (and his or her rider if it's not yours) a little bit further from shore. They mus have been lucky because you wind up catching quite a haul! Some yellowgills, redfins, and a rare green shellback are all brought in to be salted, boiled, smoked, and dried. Tasty! +10 points
The offer to ride out on the massive bronze dragon had been quite the offer, as Sauzath was still a bit too small to do it herself. Though the green had admired the bronze, quite openly, she was almost hesitant to be left on the coast by herself -- while her rider was out on the water. Niviora's assurances were plenty, but they did quite little in the grand scheme of things.
But the group of riders, Niviora included, had been quite plentiful in bringing in a haul -- multiple varieties of fish that helped to ease the tension and worry, for it was more for the dinner table.
41-50: As you begin to reel in the net or line, you are overpowered by a strong wave, and your catch is set free. Shardit! That had been a good haul, too! Nonriders or riders without XP points, take -5 points. If you are a rider, your dragon is able to support you, and you manage to bring in a full net of packtails. Riders with XP points add 5 points to their total.
Nerves about fishing once more after such a close call from the prior week had Nonami's heart racing -- and there's a moment of pure terror when there's another net in hand. Yet as they worked to pull the catch in, the waves threatened to pull them into the ocean once more. Negoncath's teeth in their jacket back braced them, and with the added strength, the net was successfully hauled up -- with a netful of packtails to boot.

Relaxing, lounged against the curve of Tiernoth's neck as he enjoyed being away from the shore was the downtime Zi'aso needed, humming under his breath as he cast out once more. It was a surprisingly fruitful day, and maybe the fish were getting a little too smart near the shoreline. But by the time him and his beautiful dragon managed to make it back to the Weyr, his bucket would be teeming from a successful venture.
51-60: As you're preparing to run your net, you discover that the beach is swarming with spiderclaws. You decide the fish can wait, and instead, start gathering the shelled creatures. That's good eatin'! You are successful and able to bring back quite the haul! +15 points
Cortun. Menyherth's tone was gentle, but plaintive -- the wingleader in question running through the net to make certain there was no holes that might have been missed -- and gathering it up in preparation to be cast. But he glanced up curiously, finding Menyherth's gaze cast out to the water's edge -- and all the movement along the sands.
"Well, that's lucky." At least he could gather some up, before heading out to fish.
81-90: The line snaps and slices your hand right open. Ouch! Not only did you lose the haul, but you now have to visit the healers and get the wound dressed. Roll a D4 to see how severe your damage is! -5 points
Nothing but a flesh wound! It stings, but will heal within a sevenday.
The line of her net snapping hadn't been what Dystzha had expected -- perhaps it was the zealous thought of possibly hauling in a second deepfish. But it sliced across her palm, sharp and hot, and left the candidate yelping. Sent scuttling to the infirmary as her net was attempted to be fished out of the water had been embarrassing, but at least it wasn't a very deep wound.

You fish with a pole this day and return with a bucket teaming with yellowfin and fingertails. +5 points
It wasn't much, but it was at least contribution. A bucket full of yellowfish would at least be more food on the table, and he'd managed to get quite a few. Perhaps the filets could be used to make cakes.

T'mul's hand was healing, but he had decided to scour the shore rather than risk the water. Thankfully, his luck on land was substantially better than it was at sea, and he wound up stumbling upon a small flock of sea wherries. With a little luck--and some skill--he managed to trap one with a snare. The thing was plump and fat, and while the meat might not be as good as standard wherries, he had no doubt it would be a welcome change to the menu.
