Missing the snitch, Chelsea narrowed her gaze. Honestly she could have used a quick end to the game. Then Issac attempted the grab and narrowly missed. What luck for Gryffindor. It meant Chelsea was given a second chance to grab the snitch.

Lavinia was secretly very excited for the start of the season. She liked playing Quidditch. Practically skipping onto the pitch despite trying to contain it, she took a deep breath. Dagrun made her way out onto the pitch, not exactly hopeful, but not dreading the game either. She wasn't going to let the quaffle in. That was all she had to focus on, at least. She joined her teammates, retying her shoe laces and stretching her arms and shoulders. No point in cramping up mid-game.

Mary was on the pitch earlier than she usually had been years past, mostly because she wasn't trying to hold down breakfast or dinner or praying to God for a win. Remember Proverbs 21:31, she had reminded herself. Just as her New King James Version translated for her from the original word of God: The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord. She and her team would no doubt do their part, but in the end luck and of course God's will determined a great deal of who won. Especially when it came to catching the snitch. Mahalia was pretty great in Mary's opinion, definitely better than last year, but that didn't guarantee a win and nor did their great chaser, beater, and keeper line up. But, she was confident they would try their best and have a game they could be proud of.

Looking up into the stands she took a deep breath. At least it was Ravenclaw they were going against for their first game. Ravenclaw was known for their want to be in the library (or their common room, which Quinn said was cozier and almost as quiet as the library most days) than a quidditch pitch. Most of the school lost faith in Hufflepuff two years ago it felt like. And thus the crowd didn't seem as large as other games. Good, Mary though, less pressure for her and her teammates even if the Ravenclaw team could say the same thing.
