The Machine [Open/Accepting]

By the time Damien arrived at the temporary base, Shadow would still be waiting by the door impatiently for Monica to respond. She was still wearing the Diethelm uniform with a short brown wig that made her look like a teenage errand boy. The wrapped package was still tucked under her arm, and she was debating over weather or not she should just go in and drop it off. The problem was, of course, was getting paid. There was no way she would go out of her way to get that stupid package for free.

"Jian?", Monica said, nudging him lightly. She sighed at the prospect of false hope. She got up after a while, realizing he had fallen asleep again and called one of the doctors, telling them what happened. Immediately, the others rushed in as well to check the situation as Monica made her way out.

The shadow trailing Shadow appeared once again, only making its presence known before slipping into a narrow alleyway.

Shadow's looked at her watch impatiently, feeling as if she was being watched. While waiting on the steps for Monica's reply, she turned her head, seeing a shadow lurking in the distance. She quickly perked up, looking towards the ally with curiosity. She swallowed hard debating whether or not she should pursue the shadow in that outfit. She looked at her phone, then back at the ally before chasing after the shadow with the box still tucked under her arm.

Damien's limo pulled up to the temporary HQ and he got out. He went up back to his office to deal with things that were on his mind, such as the furnishings for the office, but also about the twins' family and what sort of shady dealings were going on. He had spent most of the day travelling, so the HQ was starting to get empty.

A few moments after Damien went into his office, there was a knock on Damien's door.

Who the hell would that be at this hour? he wondered. "State name and reason" he ordered, as he always did.

"I have a report for you sir." The soldier replied, sounding as if he was tired and on the last hour of his shift.

"Enter and present" Damien ordered, then let out a soft sigh so that no one out of the office would hear.

"Yes sir." The man replied, walking inside and putting a small report on his desk. "We finished allocating supplies from Helmshire and started making use of their food production. The economy is doing better and civilian moral has increased." The soldier said, then blinked, recognizing his 'long face'. "Is there something the matter, Gracious Leader?"

Damien waved his hand at the soldier. "No, no. It's nothing" he said and then began looking at the file. "Well, this is good news" he said. "Is this everything, soldier?"

"Yes sir. May I take my leave?" He asked.

"Yes, go ahead" Damien said. Once the soldier was gone, the Absolute Leader went on his computer and began looking for information on the twins and their family.

When Damien began to look, he was probably getting more then he expected. There was article after article about the family. Even if half of it was false, considering the truth, it would have been hard to tell what was real and what never actually happened. Most of the articles were about the twin's aunts and uncles scandalous behavior over and over again, but they all still managed to get out of courts and such due to the obscene amount of money they bribed people with. Occasionally, articles would pop up involving the twins getting kidnapped or such, but according to most of it, information involving them was silenced by courts to 'protect the children'.

The shadow began to brisk walk, noticing Shadow following it but didn't break into a run, only maintaining the distance between them. It soon entered into a crowded area, looking back every now and then, hoping to lose Shadow soon. It appeared rather agitated that Shadow seemed to be following it too far compared to before when she stopped following it after long.

Slightly paranoid, of her outfit and surrounding, she continued pacing after the shadow. 'I'm catching up to him...' She thought.
