Robby gave his accounts of the situation to those that asked him as he left the forest, but they didn't seem to take his information as all that useful really. But his pokemon being in a battle had led them to let him pass and head to the pokemon center, even if none of them were really that injured. As a result, the obese lad had made his way towards the pokemon center and, apparently not really noticing anyone there as he focused on turning his pokemon in, gave his tired emergency food a chance to heal and rest. So Robby would proceed to stand around, as if waiting for something.

((Seems a little cheap to reserve posts))

Henrietta simply looked at Takamaru as he passed by. She couldn't unwind, she found. Couldn't relax, because it still felt like she had a million things to do. She hadn't properly checked on Eunmi or Wayne and Salieri had gone looking for a fight. Sitting here on the sidelines... It didn't feel right.

Hiba approached. Big, strong man. But she didn't know him. Didn't trust him. So she looked at him when he spoke and down when he finished, her only response a quiet "hum." She'd seated herself at the edge of the lobby and placed her hands in her lap, head tilted downward.

"Ms. Avalite?" spoke someone soon after, likely before Hiba could pursue his questioning. Henrietta's head lifted and she found herself looking at someone dressed in red. He looked at her like he was trying to make sure who she was. He'd take a paper from his pocket and look it over. "Pink haired girl," mumbled the bellhop dressed kid.

The bellhop would look around a bit, not seeing anyone else on his list that he could make out. No, wait, "brown haired kid," he read as he looked at Luka. "Really fat guy," as he looked at Robby.

With a sigh he turned back toward Henrietta, mumbling something about pictures and stupid old fat ladies.

"Y-yes?" Henrietta asked the young bellhop.

"Got something for you," he said as he reached back into his pocket. The look on the young man's face said he'd rather be doing homework than running around the city chasing kids with obscure description for minimum wage. After a few seconds he'd produce a badge. The Basic Badge. "Ol' lady said something about team work and a forest fire. Guess you were in it? Tough mess there. Ah well, you're alive so you get this for surviving that. Lady said she figured it must've taken some kinda team work to survive."

Henrietta took the badge and looked it over. Confusion bleeding away to realization was oncoming when the bellhop said, "ah, look, I don't have all day for this and I'll get yelled at if I take overtime to wait for some brat to pick up shorts for his dumb mom again, so you wanna do me a favor and just give your friends theirs? Save me some time."

Henrietta blinked and took a moment to fully comprehend what he had said before replying, "s-sure."

So, the boy would fish through his pockets again and then he'd produce an plastic ziploc bag full of the badges. One for everybody.

"Thanks a bunch," the bellhop said as he handed them over and then, with a tip of his hat, he was off.

Soon after this the ding sounded for her Pokemon, because healing was based on how many people were in front of you, severity of wounds and a million other factors that let you bullshit how long it takes to get your pokemon treated.

So, Henrietta would slip passed Hiba without giving him a chance to speak again and she'd move to the counter and retrieve her Pokemon.

"C-can you give this to Takamaru please?" she'd ask Hiba as she made her way toward the hall and by him, offering Takamaru's Basic Badge. If he took it, swell, if not Henrietta would give it to takamaru when he got out. Regardless, she'd head to her room to change, leaving Frate outside the door to keep watch.

With the rain that had opened up over the skies like magic, Salieri found that the bulky Plasma armor was too warm for the situation. She placed the Dragon Skull on the side of the forest path as she took a seat under a tree with only minor burns.

As she sat, she began to remove the Plasma armor to uncover her own outfit underneath. "I thought for sure this would be harder to get. Looks like Plasma didn't get away with everything this time."

Salem nodded solemnly, causing Salieri's mouth to curl in fret. "Did I scare you back there?" The Eevee's ears perked up, and Sal continued. "I scared myself a little, too. There's no such thing as a fair fight, and those guys were monsters. But still..."

After taking off a gauntlet, the Battle Girl looked down at her hands. They had remained clean underneath the armor, having been spared the bloodshed. 'I may have gone overboard. There's a limit to the punishment people should have to take. I may have given out too much."

Bill had saved Henrietta's life. Salieri had almost killed him, twice. The more she fought callous opponents, the crueler in battle she saw herself becoming. "I'll stay in line, I promise."

The words didn't resonate correctly in Salem's ears. Salieri was always full of vigor when she set goals or standards for herself. Wehre was the passion now? But her Eevee yipped in approval, happy to know that Sal could at least see her actions for what they were.

"I just hope I didn't scare her, too..."

Salieri stood up, now back in her normal outfit with her hair put up as usual. She lifted the bulky Dragon Skull back under her arm and beckoned for Salem to follow her.

Now a little farther down the road, Salieri could spot Artemis and Wayne's frames in the distance. Still standing. Thank god.

"Guess what I got~" rang Salieri's voice in singsong from a distance as she approached her friends.

Jump's eyes suddenly turned wide when he heard his own name. For just a moment, he didn't look so cool anymore. His face lit up, and he struggled to not smile too much. The pitter patter of the rain was dull compared to when she spoke to him. His name felt right coming out of her mouth. Say it again.

He took a deep breath, exhaling softly. His sight did not shift off of Gorm, but when he next spoke it wasn't to him.

"Of course," he said to her softly. Now he couldn't help but have a goofy smile plastered on his face. He couldn't see her with his back turned to protect her, but he still could picture his old friend right behind him. Jump let out a small laugh.

"You didn't think this was it, did you? That I wasn't coming to save you?" The hand he was using the block her from Gorm's path turned to a thumbs up. "The fastest man on the planet is never too late to save the girl."

"Oh cool, it evolved," Wayne said, looking at Dali as he pocketed Deerling's pokéball. He'd figure out what to do with the grass type later on.

"Saved our collective a**, y'know, like something out of one of those comic books." He made his way over to Baker and knelt down over the man's body.

"You're not going to be evil again if we help you to the hospital, right?" Wayne asked, though he wasn't sure what he'd do if the answer was 'yes', or 'yes, mwahaha'.
"Shut up, kid," Baker wheezed, "I'm not evil. I just have different views to you. Freakin' bigot."
"Do you want help or not?"
"...yes, please."

Wayne grinned and recalled Vespiquen on Baker's behalf. He grabbed one of the man's arms and pulled, barely lifting him off the ground and onto his shoulder. He felt something twinge in his back and spoke really fast.

"Eunmi? Err, little help carrying this guy? Oh god, oh Jesus Christ. Why armor, man? What's the deal with that?"
"It's a fashion statement."
"Statement? Are you serious?" Wayne shuffled his feet, trying to find an angle that didn't feel like Baker was crushing his bones. "Fashion question, more like."

--

"Took you long enough to show up," Zack grunted, holding back a grin as he rolled his head. "Got me dying of old age," he wound up coughing and retching, sliding over and shifting his weight onto his elbow. Zack staggered to his feet, fragile like a leaf in a gust, steadying himself against a tree.

Gorm's foot struck the ground at his side. Another one of the potential threats had arrived and this one was fresh, relaxed and overconfident.

"That won't be necessary," Gorm said quietly to Jump. His face fell into a grave stare and he suddenly whistled high pitch without moving a muscle. In an instant, three black-clad men with ice-white hair seemed to materialize out of thin air. Even Jump would have to admit that they were damn fast.

"You called, my Sage?" they spoke in unison, heads bowed past their bent knees.

"We're leaving," Gorm told them, turning his back on Jump, "mission accomplished; there's nothing to gain by staying here."

The middle man stood up tall, clad like a ninja with his face obscured by a mask that showed only the whites of his eyes. His hands formed a finger seal and suddenly smoke began to hiss out of nothingness. Just like at the museum, when Gorm went into the smoke, he became naught more than an indiscernible shadow.

Before his face was covered, he looked back to Jump with a confident smirk. "You're welcome to stop me, if you think you can," his eyes traced down to the broken Artemis and his grin deepened, "But I'd hate to see any more needless bloodshed. Your call."

And unless Jump made to attack, Gorm would step into the smoke and fade from view with his comrades. After a few seconds, the smoke would thin and clear, leaving nothing but dust.

--

Mienshao sensed Gorm's retreat as Virizion arrived. The tree used to intercept his Force Palm was vaporised and the early detonation gave Xen enough time to flee.

With Sacred Sword speeding his way, Mienshao brought his paws together with a double Force Palm that met the point of the attack head on and by swiping his paws apart, he destroyed the Legendary's technique, swirling and slashing and grinding the forest floor either side of Mienshao as it died out.

Xen was surprised by Virizion's double kick on his way past but managed to react. He jumped, spinning and weaving between the pokémon's legs as they kicked out and landed when they retracted and carried on running. He was happy to let Mienshao take on Virizion solo, more than happy.

So he made to grab D-Vee on the way out of the battlefield and drag the Smeargle back to where their trainers were. Hopefully the Legendary wouldn't try to trap them before they could leave.

"Fashion statement, my a**," Eunmi grumbled, helping in hoisting the guy up. "It doesn't even look cool."

Dali teetered a bit, looking quite exhausted and the korean stared at him a moment. Evolved, he said? Eunmi definitely needed to find out more about that, but right now, Dali looked more like he was going to fall over. The teenager managed her free hand to grab the poke ball on her waist and return the little guy.

Salieri appeared and Eunmi rose a brow at the sing song voice she spoke in.

"The decapitated head of ...a dragon?" Eunmi asked, having not heard the explanation on Team Plasma stealing it in the first place. "Oh, s**t, I still have to find D-Vee-"

* * * * *

[Wait, Xen!] The smeargle cried, attempting to resist as his eyes widened. He had to sketch that move. Before he forgot it. But Xen's grip was stronger than he expected, and in a few moments, he was hauled back to Zack and Artemis.

Just in time, too, as Gorm called his ninja henchmen and was disappearing. D-Vee didn't care - his eyes widened in surprise when he saw Jump. He couldn't help the goofy grin that grew on his face. This was perfect - both D-Vee and Jump reuniting with Artemis in the same day. He could finally play match maker with-

[Artemis?] the Smeargle gapped. He dashed over to the crumpled woman, all other thoughts abandoned. He held his hands out, wanting to help her, but unsure as to whether or not he should move her.

"I'm...urgh," she tried to sit upright, to show that she was okay, but she couldn't even manage to say the whole thing, let alone react to it. She was pretty much in the dark to the state her body was in. At the same time that she thought she couldn't feel it, she could also feel agonizing pain ripping through her at any time she tried to move. Were her limbs broken? Muscles torn? Or had she just used too much aura?

"I feel like I'm dying," she admitted to herself, but not to the worried face of her best friend. She didn't want D-Vee or Jump to see her in such a pathetic state - especially if it made Jump's decision to act more difficult.

But she didn't want him to go either. She wasn't torn between justice and obligations like Jump probably was, whatnot with his job and position. She was torn between longing for him to stay and being to scared if he did.

But the decision probably wouldn't be up to him, since Gorm was disappearing faster than ice cream you gave to D-Vee.

Years ago, Jump would have taken Gorm's words as a challenge. But with age came wisdom from experience, and he knew better then to press his luck when the Sage's backup appeared. And if he was going to follow them, then he would have left her there. That wasn't an option.

Pretty quick on their toes, Jump noted, interested but not fully impressed. Still, he made a shooing motion with his hand as Gorm faded away into smoke, and before he knew it Team Plasma was gone. As the smoke cleared, Jump looekd over to where Zack's voice came from. True to his intuition, Zack was already back on his feet, even if he was shaky.

"Old age? Old age doesn't throw down like that. Looks like you got beat up." Jump winced his eyes at the sight of Zack's fatigue, but still grinned. He couldn't help himself. It looked like he was having all sorts of reunions today. "I knew you'd get back on your feet. You never cease to disappoint me, bro."

Soon after, D-Vee and Xen came into the mix. Jump waved over at the Smeargle. "Long time no see, bud! Didn't expect to run into all of you guys today."

And now Jump turned to face Artemis. She was doing worse off than he had thought. Immediately, Jump kneeled down to her side to help her sit up straight. Delicately he tried to shift her body into a sitting position, holding her up to let her lean on him if she felt weak.

"C'mon, don't tell me you're 'urgh'. Tell me something else, something good," Jump told her, looking at her face with his mismatched ones. He joked, but there was some concern in his voice as well. Seeing Artemis hurt so bad wasn't how he had pictured their reunion. He couldn't help but worry a little about her. "Tell me anything. Just try not to move, okay?"

Jump looked her over. Zack had been able to at least stand up, but Artemis couldn't even get up. The Interpol Agent slowly picked Artemis up from the ground, carrying her on his back and letting her arms drape over his shoulders. Knowing her, she'd probably protest if she had the energy. But unless she could move on her own, Jump planned to bring her to the nearest medic.

As he walked with Artemis held for a piggyback ride, Jump walked over to Zack. "I'd get Kiedis and Hexum to bring my car here, but they can't drive. Guess we're gonna have to walk." The Interpol Agent grinned up at his friend. "I don't have to carry you too, do I?"

****

"Decapitated? Maybe." Salieri spun the skull around to look at it's face, then contorted her own in mild disgust. "It's kind of creepy." She looked over to Wayne and saw that he was hoisting up a Plasma Grunt over his shoulder. For a second she thought about how holding a skull wasn't so bad.

"You're still looking your D-Vee? That Smeargle's pretty fast." She recalled that the Smeargle knew a move called Extremespeed, said to be even faster than Wukong's Mach Speed technique.

"I'm pretty sure Plasma's gone, so we don't have to worry about this getting stolen anymore. Let's go find your pokemon, we've got plenty of time now."

Usually Artemis' encounters with the delinquent ninja were a bit more rigid. The woman had defenses like a Bastiodon - one slip up and she'd be closed off again. Not only that, but she'd spent the last five years practically avoiding any direct confrontation with anyone outside her job or family. She even handled all her gallery arrangements via email.

That said, she definitely had played out her next interaction with Jump. She could have written a book - and maybe she had - with responses to keep him at arms length. Mock his ponytail, lash out with vicious, demeaning words to ensure he knew that there was no way she was going to let him in.

When he asked her now to tell him something good, she looked up at him, her mind was blank. She wanted to scoff, sit up and push him away. Tell him that he was being sappy, and that she was as immune to his charms as a Flying type was to an Earthquake.

But she just couldn't.

"I'm fine," she said, her head drooping to rest against his neck. D-Vee couldn't contain his grin despite his concern for her.

"I just used too much aura," she said reassuringly, waving an arm weakly as it dangled over his shoulder. The numbness of her body was still there, but when he moved her, she could tell that, at least, it didn't hurt when someone else did the moving for her.

"You smell good," she murmured sleepily, quiet enough that likely only he would hear it. Had she been more awake, she would have jolted back, flushed, and taken it back. But it was the only something good she could think of to say, and her brain was too unfocused to retract it.

This side of Artemis was as rare as finding a Chansey in the Safari Zone, and likely ten times harder to keep from fleeing. D-Vee smiled, glad that they had the opportunity to see it, and definitely had to work to keep from commenting, or worse, breaking into song about it.

Instead, he looked up at Jump and beamed. [Kiedis and Hexum are here too? This is the coolest reunion ever!]

The smeargle glanced back at Zack, his cheerful demeanor taking over.

[I heard you and Elizabeth got married! Congrats!] he grinned. How D-Vee knew and Artemis didn't just proved how out of sync she was with the world.

* * * * *

"I don't even know where to start," Eunmi said sheepishly. Even before the rampaging Deerling charged at them, the initial fight with Baker had her all turned around about which direction D-Vee had run off in.

"He was chasing after that woman," she thought. Did he know her? She didn't think it was anyone she knew.

((There we go, feminists, straight from the horse's mouth: women don't care about politics or morality, their heads are filled with love and kittens!))

The weight lifted from Wayne's shoulders and Baker started kicking and complaining. Solosis rolled on by with a bored expression as his Telekinesis lifted Baker effortlessly into the air. Wayne blinked.

"Oh yeah, I forgot," he said with half a laugh, "Thanks, Solo."
[Meh,] the psychic would've shrugged if he had the anatomy for it, [Whatever]

"This is degrading," Baker muttered but knew better than to fight back. At least he didn't have to walk.

"Sal, we need to get out of this place: forest fires, monsoon rain, big, massive, huge Deerling? This place is crazy. We're pushing our luck just by standing here. We can find Smeargle-man later; he's a pokémon, he'll know how to stay safe."

--

"I'd appreciate it," Zack said dryly, "but it looks like you've got your hands... full..."

He trailed off as the sappiness intensified and just let them pass. D-Vee barked up squeakily and gained Zack's attention. The man frowned and said, "Y'know, I still can't understand you."

Moving was a pain in the everything. Soldiering on, Zack got a few steps forward and slowed down. He stopped, staring at nothing like a man contemplating the biggest decision of his life. Then he turned to D-Vee and asked meekly, "Think you can sketch me up a stretcher?"

[It doesn't work like that,] Xen told him.
"I can't understand you either."

The rain in this area had gone thanks to Artemis' pressure attack. It was quiet bar the crunching of footsteps and whispered voices and you could hear the chopper's hum a mile off. The big black bird circled and set down in front of the three. Its side was emblazoned with a white WG logo and the hatch lifted up to reveal a spacious interior with enough room to lay injured people down or hold a unit of agents as they readied for deployment.

Hold was empty this time though, empty aside from Jacqueline and her niece, who was sat on the opposite bench and staring at her feet until they landed. Her face lit up when she saw her father and she managed to dodge Jackie's outstretched hand and run off onto the ashen wasteland.

"Daddy!" Katelyn raced into Zack's stomach and nearly bowled him over. He staggered with an oof and simply looked shocked.
"Hey, whoa, what are you doing here?" he addressed Jacqueline, "What are you doing here?"

"This situation has been classified as an Incident. World Government needs a representative to be on hand and make sure Interpol don't muck it up." She glanced to Artemis and Jump but looked back in time to see Zack's frown. "And I volunteered."

"You brought my little girl to a battlefield?" If he didn't look so ruined, he might've seemed threatening.
"I had faith that you could handle it. Just barely, it seems," she inspected Artemis, compared it with Zack and then saw that Jump was perfectly fine, "I was right."

She spoke to Jump and Artemis, "Get on board. I'm going to drop you off near the medical unit in Nacrene City. There wasn't just a handful of trainers in the forest when it ignited," she glanced over to Zack, "more than a few people were injured."

"What about Wayne?"
"I don't know," Jacqueline smarted, "You'll have to find out when you get to the medical tent, won't you?"

Zack was quiet but soon felt small hands tugging at his tattered vest. "You're bleeding, daddy," Katelyn's tiny voice wavered. First time she'd seen Zack with so much as a papercut; she didn't think it was possible for her dad to get hurt. Reality struck and brought tears to her eyes.

"It's fine, don't worry," he said, eyes on her and cutting out the rest of the world, kneeling down even if his bones screamed and placing a hand on her head with a smile, "I just had to beat up some bad guys. Didn't you know your dad was a superhero?"

Katelyn blinked, silent. Zack felt like he lost ground but was committed.

"They call me, uh... Fire...Man," he trailed off and Katelyn carried on staring. Zack's face dropped and he shot a glance to the others, "What are you looking at?"

((If only governments ran on the Power of Love. Actually, we'd avoid a lot of s**t if governments ran on the power of love.))

Artemis’s last comment hadn’t flown over his head, but Jump silently allowed the words to sink in and his cheeks turn pink while the helicopter landed. If he started sweet talking her now, he knew that she’d kill him when she was back on her feet. Besides, the low whipping sound of the chopper’s blades drowned out her fragile voice.

It’s still weird to see him as a dad, Jump thought to himself as he watched Zack and Katelyn. Katelyn may have been too young to remember Jump’s visits to the Redgrave house, and he hadn’t seen Wayne for a year or two (how long was it? Jump couldn’t keep track of time these days). But whenever he saw Zack talk to his kids, he couldn’t help but think of the old Zack from their adventuring days.

It was a funny contrast. Although he wouldn’t tell Zack at the risk of his masculinity, it also warmed his heart. Jump leaned down until his head was only a few inches above Katelyn’s. “Psst, Fire Man is his secret identity. You can’t tell anybody!” he whispered to her with a wink.

Don't cry, kid. I hate it when kids cry.

“For justice, okay? And you didn’t hear it from your Uncle Jump. My name is, uh, The Comet! Yep, that’s me.” Another wink. “If you’re real good you’ll get a name too.”

While he was on a low level, Jump looked to D-Vee. “Kiedis and Hexum are probably looking for me right now. Finding me when I go high speeds is near impossible, so Hexum must’ve just gotten on my trail.” Jump looked to the skies, which were beginning to clear up back to the natural state before the fires. Sunlight poured down through cracks in the inert stormclouds.

He turned his head down to D-Vee. “But I know they’ll be surprised to see you too. Oh, dude, quick! Hide in the helicopter and when they come out, scare the sh-“

Jump bit his tongue. There were children present. “Scare the pants off of them! Hehe, they won’t see it coming!”

Readjusting Artemis on his back, Jump stepped into the helicopter. With Jacqueline’s arrival, this reunion was starting to become bigger and bigger. Unsurprisingly, she was all business. Jump placed Artemis in the corner seat next to the window. Then he leaned out the window to face Katelyn again while jabbing his thumb back at Jaqueline.

“Wanna know what your Aunt Jackie’s superhero name is? It’s The Sourpuss!”

It wasn’t like he could take her seriously right now. Or any of his old friends for that matter. But then again, he barely ever did. Jump's cocked his head back to smirk at Jackie. "I like what you've done with your hair, The Sourpuss."

****

Salieri looked back into the forest. The flames were all but dead. If Wayne was confident in D-Vee's survival and Eunmi didn't know where to look, then maybe he was right.

"You've got a point, cowboy." The Battle Girl readjusted the Dragon Skull under her arm. It was too big for the short teen to simply carry. "I can drop this off and we can look later if we have to, or something. But we should probably check if everyone else is okay."

Sal walked over to where Baker was floating, looking up at him like a child watching a tank in the aquarium. "Who's this guy?" she asked, curious beyond the point of just knowing that he was Team Plasma. After all, if Wayne and Eunmi saw it fit to help him then he couldn't be terrible.

Or maybe, like Henrietta, they were just better people than her.

"...wait, did you say huge Deerling?"

((Pretty sure the world would collapse if we needed love for governments to function))
PostPosted: Sun Dec 04, 2011 2:37 pm

((It was more a statement that Jump gets paid to save people, and Artemis really isn't involved because her job is a desk job she doesn't even attend.))

D-Vee nodded. Although Hexum and Kiedis would have a difficult time finding them, the helicopter would probably be a big indicator. They'd be able to find that, right? He took to Jump's advice, and leaned up against the wall. His tail glowing he painted a zigzag over his body, and suddenly he seemed to disappear, camouflaging with the side of the wall. It'd work on Kiedis, most likely. D-Vee forgot Hexum didn't see like that.

Artemis clenched her teeth together and held back a groan as Jump set her down. The woman tried her best to look put together, leaning against the window and using her arm to try and prop herself up. The pain was still there, but she was aware she could feel herself gradually regaining her ability to move.

So this was Katelyn, the daughter Elizabeth had mentioned in their conversation. To anyone who had ever inquired, or even just assumed, Artemis hated children. D-Vee said it was because Artemis wasn't grown up enough to handle the pressure of anyone else's problems outside of her own, but Artemis would justify it with a list of things kids did that annoyed her - mostly being sticky and loud. Plus you couldn't roll your eyes at them and say mean things without them taking it personally and start crying.

Of course, Artemis was usually so hostile, the chances of her being within 10 feet of a child were very unlikely. She tilted her head and looked at the little girl, noting all the resemblances to her parents. She didn't even realize the small smile that had formed on her lips.

Jump was good with kids. He was loud and rambunctious, and kids seemed to enjoy that. Artemis couldn't contain the chuckle that escaped her mouth when he called Jackie The Sourpuss.

"Do you know what a comet is?" Artemis called out from behind him, a small smirk on her face. Her eyes pierced the back of his skull before directing towards the little girl. "Think of it as a star with a tail. That's why he wears his hair in a ponytail." She gestured with her hand to Jump's tied back ponytail, despite her body's resistance.

"Artemis," she nodded as an introduction, her eyes softening with her expression. "But my umm," she paused, "super hero name is umm... Nightingale?"

She settled on something that wouldn't easily be countered into a joke about passing gas by Jump, but also something that didn't make her sound like a torrential force of nature that was already claimed by actual comic book characters.

* * * * *

Eunmi nodded at Wayne's conclusion. D-Vee trusted his own instincts a lot more than hers, so she had to agree that the pokemon was capable. She was worried, of course, but not irrational.

"He's just a guy with different beliefs than us," Eunmi said with a shrug. She didn't like the guy, since he refused to let her pass without a fight. But it hadn't crossed her mind to leave him there. They should probably help Seohyun up too. ((I don't know if she's still there.))

"I don't actually know much about that... you said it was a Deerling?"

"Yes, I came to the conclusion that ponytails are ridiculous," Jacqueline said dryly and she pushed past Jump, keeping her arms folded until she got to Zack. Grabbing his shoulder, she effortlessly wrenched him to his feet and held him there. He looked at her sideways, tired.

"This was Plasma, wasn't it? We have intel that they're working with the FLF," she said in a subdued tone, "Between this, the aborted bombing at PokéLand and the Dreamyard Incident, it makes three attacks in as many days."
"What do you want me to do about it?" Zack frowned. He checked on Katelyn, her attention fixed on The Comet and Nightingale.
"Could use the firepower. You fought today, how did it feel?"
"I'm not coming back, Jacqueline."

Zack broke away and scooped Katelyn into his arms. Bit of rest, Aura recovering. Felt a million times better. Katelyn looked over his shoulder and met her Aunt's eyes, Zack saying: "I have other commitments."

"Yeah, right! Anyway, basically whenever it eats grass it becomes a giant killing machine."
