Once the light show was over, Guile sat on the pedestal for a moment and stretched a bit. "Phew! A few thousand years can really take their toll on a person. Geeze I'm stiff!"

Mala wasn't very tired in the least this time. Either the spell really was as easy as she had stated, or she had grown considerably stronger over the years.

"Welcome back to the world of the walking, talking, and the crude." Larai joked with a small smile.

"Not to mention barren and magic-deficient, apparently." Guile said hopping off the pedestal before clapping his hands together. "So, what can I do for you fine folks as thanks, hm?"

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Don't get sealed up again, if you can help it. Also, if a man by the name of Atius asks about us, say nothing. I'd rather not deal with any more trouble from him." Mala said with a small smile.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Should I even bother asking why?" Guile asked curiously, though he guessed they wouldn't tell.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Let's just say he's a reoccuring pain in the a**. Like a hemeroid that just won't go away." Larai said, remembering the one occassion in which she did meet him. He was a filthy cretin who couldn't take his eyes off of her breasts for the life of her.

((I thought they were kids when Atius 'met' them. XD Unless she met him again offscreen.))

"Duly noted. Of course, I never really thought about what I was going to do after I got out...." Guile said holding his chin in thought. "Especially considering my wife's probably dead by now."

"That just means you get a fresh start. New faces, new life. I hope you enjoy it." Larai said with a smile.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Bah, I used to put on magic shows, but apparently I'm out of a job if everyone's got technology on the brain."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"You'll be surprised. There are mostly just idiots who don't believe in magic. You can make a quick buck if you've got a sneaky friend, or if the magic is distracting enough." Larai replied with a soft chuckle, her grin spreading all the wider. "Of course, you can make a more honest living with it too if you're too honest or lazy to pick their pockets and all."

Guile blinked at Larai a few times from behind his mask. "I'm going to blame this on having a thief god for a dad." he said, having not expected such a blatant amount of 'I'm a thief' from her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Normally, the only reason why Larai didn't come off as much of a thief was because she usually tried to speak politely or she didn't speak at all. "What can I say? With my looks and the way the people here don't take magic seriously, my only hopes for making money in this wasteland are either stealing or prostitution - and the seccond really isn't for a girl like me."

"You know that's no excuse considering the world wasn't like this when you two set off before." Van pointed out.

{My posts aren't any better. To be fair, though, I'm playing DRAGON AGE II, BABY.}

"Okay, okay, I admit, it's kind of funny hiding and seeing their faces when they realise they've been robbed by a pretty girl." Larai chuckled. "I guess Kai's rubbed off on me after all."
