Usually we require you to buy a Shiny Pokeblock through the shop or craft one via Ambrosial Alchemy. There are also random times where shiny Pokemon will appear for capture in missions and events (like capture contests).

It's designed to be a fighting game that relies less on execution (see, shoryukens, 360* stick rotations, buffering charges through block/hitstun), your specials are a simple button press on a cooldown. That doesn't mean this game sacrifices in depth: there are still links, cancels, footsies AND A GIANT RUSSIAN ROBOT PILOTED BY A DOG.

It's aiming to be the Hearthstone of fighting games and if it's anywhere near that successful, you're going to be hearing a lot about it this winter. Also, this project is led by Seth Killian, a dude who did a lot of work on SF4 so he kinda knows what he's doing.
