It was fun, watching her try to crawl along toward her weapon. He could have nudged one with her foot, either an inch forward to give her hope or an inch back just to make it that much harder, but really, this was enough. It was a bit calming really, and so he stayed to watch rather than joining in the fray.

So when someone came to help his new toy, maybe even take it away, he was not pleased. Not pleased at all. So he stalked him, but he held back to gauge his opponent. He was tall and had a long stride so he could easily keep up. This was his new prey.

The hunter was in his sight now, the thing that had taken the first hunter that was somewhat interesting to him.

But maybe it would be more interesting to let them escape. Then if she recovered he could toy with her again. Oh that would be fun.

Ofelia blinked when she heard her name and turned, looking face to face with someone who, by the look of their coat, was in her group too. They must have come after her, or maybe before her, or maybe even the same time as her, but the point of the matter was this person was standing next to her, talking to her, and had even used her name. That was a long train of thought and Ofelia shook it off, grinning and nodding. "Yup, name's Ofelia Tanner but most jus' call me Ofie. Ya here ta land me a hand holdin' the fort?"

Her raised eyebrow was the best way she had of saying 'and your name is' without actually asking the question. The teen was doing her best to keep her eyes out for anyone approaching, anyone who might need a hand during the last stretch.

Wash spotted Wilson, not far away. And they weren't alone...

He shifted Ami to one shoulder and raised his shield, scanning the dark, peering desperately at the jumping shadows.

"WILSOOOON!" Wash shouted, finding his voice suddenly.

"How the hell d'we get outta here?" Well, they'd come in, right? Surely the rescue party knew how to get out. Hopefully. He'd endured enough nightmares for one lifetime; now he was running on pure adrenaline.

Oh, it was getting defensive. That alone made the new hunter more interesting. Now he closed the gap, moving forward, khopesh summoning with practiced ease into his hand before he lashed out at the colt.

Really, he was just going to wander off and ignore her? Really? The war chieftain almost felt insulted.

Oh well, a few wing beats later and she was bearing down on him again, getting him with another swipe of her blade.

Someone shouted his name and he turned around to find Wash toting an Ami. "Ami! Are you okay?" Clearly not, but it was the thought that counted.

Still carrying the mist hunter on his back, he looked around the Lair before he said, "Not too sure, but follow me!"

He began to sprint--via his highschool track days--and winced as the war chieftain swung her blade at him. As much as Wilson would have liked to retaliate, he had something more important to take care of. He wasn't going to let someone die if he could help it. Not again. He wasn't going to have another Stan on his freaking hands.

A sigh of relief as he reached the exit at last and walked through the portal. "Hey, Wash---" He turned around and stopped.

Wash wasn't there.

"s**t."

Ami would've normally been entirely flabbergasted and appalled that someone was carrying her in this manner. She would've complained and reprimanded until she was let down, so she could walk on her own.

For now though, there was nothing she could do. Her entire body was limp, and she was left to cling to Wash's body. She couldn't even stop crying. She'd ben holding back this entire time, and now it was coming on full flood.

She could even see Soren stalking behind them. A horrible nightmare show, that she was forced to sit front row center for.

Junpei? she thought weakly. Of course there was no response. He was broken now, how would he be able to talk. At times like this, he would remind her to thank Wash and tell her it would be okay.

"Thank you," she said quietly before the pain choked her out of talking. The horseman began to attack. She wished for nothing more than Wash to put her down and escape on his own. She wasn't worth this effort.

He brought up his shield, a second too late, and his arm took a heavy blow instead. It felt numb, and was harder to lift. He couldn't defend himself - couldn't last for much longer.

"I'm...I'm sorry," he muttered to Ami. Wash found himself apologizing a lot lately. He didn't want to die here in the dark, seconds from rescue. He didn't have many options, though, so he stood his ground, for what he feared might be the last time.

Well that was rather anticlimactic. But one or two out of his grasp wasn't a terrible result - there were still a handful of Hunters to pick from. Be it because of proximity or because Shik just disliked seeing them try to cart off their fallen, he set his eyes on Tori.

As before, the horseman flew at her and did a fly-by slice, turning to face her in a lazy loop in the air. "Mmm. Will you scream for me?" he asked casually. "It's growing too quiet here for my liking."
