Maria was a bit shocked at first, would the little girl have bitten someone? Then, after looking through past memories of herself at the dentist's office, decided not to question it.

Ali tried to open really wide so Haloween boy wouldn't think she was biting him, but his fingers were bigger than her whole mouth! At least she wasn't like a puppy. Puppies had sharp baby teeth.

Christopher flossed all around Ali's teeth. "You're doing a good job" he said to her as he flossed.


Dr. Sullivan smiled under his medical mask as he wrote up the dental report. He walked over a cupboard and opened it up. He waited until Christopher took the floss out of the patient's mouth for a moment. "Alright. So what flavour fluoride do you want? We have banana, mint, bubblegum, strawberry, grape and of course, plain" the dentist said to Ali.

"Plain? NO! Not plain!" Ali said as she tried to remember the flavors. Failing somewhat at that she pondered for a moment before coming upon a solution. " Is there any yellow? Like crocodile teeth?"

"I didn't know crocodile teeth were yellow. Maybe they don't brush enough" Dr. Sullivan joked. "Yes, there is banana. It's yellow. You want that?" he asked.

"HMMNNnnNNnNMnNnn" Ali said as she looked at the ceiling and wiggled her body back and forth in contemplation.
"Yeah!" she finally decided with a nod.

"Alright then, banana it is" Dr. Sullivan said. He got out little children's fluoride trays he had especially for Ali. The last time he only had adult sized trays and had to cut them. He got out the banana fluoride and began filling the trays with them.


While the dentist was doing that, Christopher resumed flossing.

Ali flappered her lips as a string of floss threaded through a gap easily. She shook her white blond hair out of her face and tried to sit up a little as she was feeling quite done with the floss, that last one had felt funny. "Crocodile teeth are always yellow!" she said. "But Aligators brush!" she added pointing to her gator plushie on the counter. It observed the goings on with a wide open -very white grin.

"Ah, well I'm glad alligators brush. They'll have less cavities then crocodiles then" Dr. Sullivan said as he walked over with a tray full of fluoride in each hand. He handed the trays to Christopher to hold and then put the seat up so that Ali could sit back while the fluoride was on her teeth. "So, shall I explain to you how to insert the trays?" the dentist asked Christopher.


"Uh, yes please. I'm a little unsure" Christopher replied. Dr. Sullivan wanted him to do the fluoride. Was the dentist trying to get him to learn most of the basics or was he just being lazy?

Ali peeped at Christopher's hands at the yellow foam filled trays. They didn't look big. But she was starting to realize the subtle difference in perception for things outside of the mouth versus in.

Dr. Sullivan explained to Christopher on how to insert the trays into Ali's mouth and put them on her teeth. After Christopher did that, the dentist went back to writing up the dental report.


Christopher stood by Ali and held the suction in his medical gloved hand. He was waiting for a minute to pass before he removed the trays and suctioned all around Ali's teeth.

Ali tried really hard not to drink back any of the banana flavor. The fairy man had said not to last time. but the trays were really full! At least he'd let Halloween boy hold the wand thing for backup.
She hoped he was counting too, cause Ali had forgot to keep going after 18.

After a minute finally passed, Christopher removed the trays and placed them on the tool tray. He then suctioned all around Ali's teeth. "Alright. That's finished. Are we all done, doc?" Christopher said to Ali, then asked Dr. Sullivan.


Dr. Sullivan returned. "Almost" he said. He pulled the tool tray back over once Christopher put the suction back on. "I just have to take one more little quick peek at your teeth" the dentist said, picking up a couple tools.

Ali opened up wide and tilted her head way way waaaaay back for the fairy one more time. At least she was almost done. And she got to learn the fairy tricks because of the Halloween guy.

Dr. Sullivan did a quick once over of Ali's teeth. "Mhhmm. They're all good. You make sure to keep them that way. Now you can go show Ms. Powers your nice shiny clean teeth. Remember no drinking, eating, or rinsing for at least half an hour. The fluoride has to settle. Ya got it?" the dentist said to Ali.


Christopher began removing her bib.
