I…I…yes…I was concerned. sweatdrop My Mother would have been particularly offended had I shown up alone. She would have taken it to mean you don't care enough about our relationship if you wouldn't have bothered to show up. sweatdrop

Oh sweetheart…this is a private plane. I don't fly commercial. It's furnished more like … um … like living accommodations is the best way to describe it. It's smallish and has a back bedroom. They take off when we get there. It will be just us, a pilot and a couple of staff. neutral

Oh, I see. This private jet must be a very extravagant model. One of Big Paulie's more lavish expenditures, I would assume. *Becomes a little tense with the thought of Big Paulie, but he tries to let the feeling pass.* confused

A private jet would still have to record the flight plans and get clearance for take off. How long do you expect we will be in flight?

I'm sure they do need to get "clearance" or something like that. I'm not a pilot so I don't know. I've never worried about such details…it's the pilot's problem to deal with. *shrugs* The flight will be about 4 hours, but it could be longer depending on how long we sit on the runway to wait to take off.

*She notices him getting tense.* Do you have trouble flying, William? confused

No, I have flown before a couple of times. Wait ... your mother would have been offended if I couldn't make the trip? Had my vacation not been approved, that would have been out of my control. There is nothing that I care more for than you, my love. But I do have a responsibility, a dedication to my position as an Officer of the Law. I would think that your mother should at least understand that much.

I know my darling…I know. She only sees it from one point of view and this would be hers. She's under the impression the Police can do whatever they please. It all has to do with my Father and his death. She's very jaded about and distrustful of the Police. sweatdrop

Yes, I suppose I can see it from her point of view. I know there are a few officers who take advantage of their positions and for the wrong reasons. But for the most part, most lawmen take their jobs seriously and are there to serve and protect.
