The Machine [Open/Accepting]

Zil said nothing. His body disobeyed his mind and reluctantly, he stepped closer to Shadow until the gap between them was closed and as if he had given up resisting, kissed her with such intensity, it would make a newly-wed jealous. As his mind regained control, he pulled away, not sure what her reaction would be. 'Damn it, Zil. You've done it this time!', he thought to himself, worried about their friendship and if she would distance herself from him. He looked down and said very softly, "This is why I shouldn't be near you..."

((Sorry, pulled an all-nighter on Tuesday so I completely crashed Wednesday))

Shadow was completely taken by surprise. Immediately, so many held-back memories started rushing through her head, she remembered the terrors her sister had gone through, Damien stealing her first kiss, and even some about Zil before he turned this way. Her eyes rolled backwards as she fell over, passed out. Despite how Shadow acts as a person, to others, she was surprisingly pure.

"It's always been like that. With the exception of allies nations, there will always be snobbery and tension between leaders. Often, they are used to getting their own way, and they're not used to conversing with people as powerful as themselves." She replied. After all, the priestess was not a social person by nature. Rather, she was far from it. Since her youth, she was forced into these social situations, so she had gotten used to it. "It's rather... tense at times..."

"Ah, I see. Well, then. I will perhaps attend a meeting if that's what you want" Damien said. In his mind he was wondering if there was a way to get these countries to all turn on each other so that his military could just sweep in and conquer all of them without much effort, like what he did with Verillia and Montinagua. "Is this all you wanted in exchange for the medical testing? Do you need protection? There seems to be quite a ruckus going on at Mt. Angelo".

"It... it isn't me that needs protection..." She replied, referring to Damien and his people. "I need to go back whether I like it or not. I've been away far to long. I'm sure the people are growing restless after what happened."

"I see. Well, you do that then. Make sure to get a blood test as well. We will send you our samples once they're all taken" Damien said.

"Of course." She replied. "About how many people are you planning on testing?"

Damien thought for a moment. "Well, we're checking most of the top officials, and some others" he said. He then gave a rough estimate on the number of people. "That's not too much, I hope" he said.

"It's a little more then expected, but I think I can manage that many." She replied.

Zil caught Shadow, placing an arm around her shoulder and another at the back of her head. He sighed and closed his eyes with a smile. "I should have known it would come to this", he said, mostly to himself. He then carried her back to her apartment, stealthily going in through the window. He gently laid her down in her bed, taking off her shoes and then tucking her in. He looked at her one last time, resolved that she didn't feel the same as he did and that therefore, he should stay away. He erased any trace of his being there and left quietly through the window.

"Alright then. I will hear from you later then. I hope you are able to smooth things out when you get back to Mt. Angelo" he said, standing up. He extended a white gloved hand to shake Lianne's.

Once Damien was finished with the Grand Priestess, he headed down to where the twins were waiting. He then ordered the soldiers to leave so that he could speak to them alone.

The priestess nodded and shook his hand before being escorted out of there.

The twins were still waiting patiently for their father to arrive, and when he did, they silently looked up at him, waiting for the storm.

"Soooo" Damien started, "you two walk into this building and didn't let anyone know, not even me, that you had dangerous explosives in your backpack? And why did security not check for this?"

"We're sorry."
"It was perfectly safe."
"It was locked so that it wouldn't explode, even if he broke."
"And he did exactly what we told him not to do, turning it back on."
"I think he thought we were joking..."
