Adira wandered aimlessly around the soul fortress. Her hands grazing across surfaces of different textures and materials, feeling them, pulling the emotions from the walls. They always had a strong story to tell.
Adira had not done this in what seemed like a long while. Mostly as Hell was not the place to do such an act. It was stupid and naive to do it there. It was dangerous...you could get lost among the pain...the torture...the essence of Hell's lower rings.
Adira shuddered at the thought and moved away from the wall, no longer enlightened by the process of pulling the emotions.
Ophelia and Banquo followed their mistress at a distance, allowing her to explore on her own while still keeping a watchful eye on her.

Sylin took in everything once again, making note of all the wildlife that seemed to exist *inside* of a building. Secretly, unbeknownst to anyone there, he had noticed Adira in the corner of his eye off in the distance. He said nothing though, made no thoughts apparent about the girl to Rosemary...
...Sylin was actually a demon. Not that anyone would know. Heegh had sent him to retrieve the lost succubus, alongside the other hell hounds. For now, his mission was to observe. The reason Rosemary found nothing suspicious about his thoughts or actions was because they were actually two fold. One, he had a creature implanted in his brain that would keep surface thoughts safe from mind readers, seeing as how that would be a risk to blow his cover. It would instead release different thoughts that would seem more natural. Secondly...
Well, secondly... He wasn't sure how fond he was of the new Satan compared to the old one especially. Honestly, he was having doubts about his own mission, not that he'd voice it to any of his co-workers or superiors. Ever since Dieamos left and was freed from Hell, he'd lost a valuable companion to disclose personal emotions to. He never did find out what happened exactly to the Abomination, rumor was that he was destroyed utterly to the point where he wouldn't be resurrected in Hell.
Quite frankly, Heegh seemed to want this individual back quite badly. He wasn't entirely sure what for, but it couldn't have been good. Perhaps this was one of his victims that he enjoyed torturing when he was most enraged? All he knew, was that if he failed, he'd have to answer to Heegh... as well as some of the remaining comrades of Dieamos that were still in the fiery realm.
Mentally shaking off this thoughts, just in case the thought grub didn't do it's job entirely, he agreed with what Rosemary had said.
“Yes, I suppose that would make sense. Heaven on the mortal realm wouldn't be perfect enough for anyone, since we're all flawed and imperfect. Still, this is a rather nice glimpse I would have to say.”
He seemed to smile genuinely.
“Thank you for showing me here, Rosemary. This has been very refreshing.”

New Years arrived, and celebration was in the air. The public areas of the soul fortress were full of people partying, and generally having a great time. In the more private, residential area, people were having fun as well. Malos had just woken up Willow, welcoming her to the waking world with a kiss and some sweets. Galantros and Black were putting up some balloons and other similar decorations all over the place, all while playing with the wildlife that resided within the fortress. The angels wore festive colors, but were still on their guard.
Drinks were served, snacks were munched, music was played, and Adira and her hounds were enticed into the celebrations to have a good time. Galantros removed his hood, using it for a game idea he and Black devised.... mixing up names in the hood, and drawing out pairs for people to dance, to mix things up from the usual couples that danced by themselves instead of with other partners. They even managed to get Adira's name into the hood once they assured her that it would be fun, and nobody would make fun of her.
”And our first dancing couple is... …. Adira and.... Eztli!”

(Continuing the little side character stories from days ago)
"I don't believe his name was Nathan."
"How I became a vampire...probably should involve how I met Veni..." she folded her hands and rested her nose on them (Gendo Pose) and looked somewhat dreamily as she thought of various things that involved Veni. "Back then I either did not know or believe in vampires. I can't say if Veni had told me what he was if I would have accepted or rejected him. I can't say if I would have chosen to be this. I am what I am and I can't picture myself any other way anymore."
"When I was human I could hear everyones thoughts and I couldn't stop it. People were superstitious back then so I could not even mention it to anyone or seek help for better control for fear of having the devil beaten out of me. There were things considered women's work and everything else belonged to men. But even so I did my best to teach myself: listening on a person's thoughts while they read a scholarly book for example."
"The first time I recall seeing Veni I was trying to study anatomy for myself and the best way for that I reasoned was studying a person. So he caught me fresh grave digging. I was so startled I ran home and I realized I hadn't 'heard' his thoughts at all."
"Later he was talking to my father about this and that and eventually he asked if he could court me. With all his tricks he looked about my age with brown eyes and had proved that he was self sufficient and successive early in life. Most men married when they were older to younger women because they had to prove they could support a wife. I on the other hand was getting to the point of almost being considered too old to marry. I had no betrothed because he had died and didn't really have any suitors."
"Veni was so wonderful and was such a gentleman. He didn't use what he saw against me like I had feared, he helped me study, he gave me tips, and didn't restrain me when it came to knowledge a woman shouldn't know. Best and worst of all I didn't know what he was thinking. Pure silence from him...I didn't know what Veni really was."
"After going through all the proper steps, he eventually proposed. I had actually forgotten about this part until I was tormented on Ni'Jitogrimiz and had many of my memories...ah...exposed... to Coatli... maybe Jiluzix. But it is also more vivid than many of my earlier memories because of this. Veni had told me to forget for now which is why I didn't remember and why it wasn't completely gone. Veni had just proposed and I was kissing him and he was kissing back in an unusual way, but I let him and then I tasted blood. I thought I must have bitten him so I pulled away, but he assured me it was alright and started to kiss me again. This time I didn't pull away from him until he did first."
"He moved to my neck, I felt his teeth, and began to ask him what he was doing when he bit me. It was the best sensation I had ever felt up until that point. When he lowered me his eyes were red and his teeth looked sharp, but he told me to sleep and forget. I didn't die from that."
"He somehow managed to have us married and yet avoid certain things that would hurt him terribly or he couldn't do. We moved away to what I thought was his home shortly after that. He was only visiting where I lived. I don't know how long it was, but I eventually grew ill. The night I died I hadn't eaten anything all day, I had thrown up several times, and ached most of the day. I didn't know what was wrong or what Veni had been doing to me. I felt better when night approached. I now know that I was at the point where my body was changing, but I could still either remain a human or be changed. Veni gave me one last kiss that night und here I am," she finished holding up her hands in a shrug like gesture with her sharp fingernails facing everyone.
She left out much detail at the end of her story because she was sure that Veni would 'kiss' her during their most intimate moments and her changing involved a lot of that since they were newly weds. He had never deprived her of enjoyment in that even in a time when women weren't supposed to enjoy it and that it was seen as an evil necessity for them so she was actually surprised it had felt so good back then.

A thoughtful silence occurred for a moment, until Eztli spoke up.
"So... What was it like to awaken as a vampire?"
"Interesting question, that's one that's somewhat on my mind as well..."

Rosemary gave Ezlti and Thas a look and turned her gaze downward before putting on a more nuetrual face. "For many it is pleasant: better vision, new sounds, smells, and other senses. For others it's not very pleasant. Often we wake up thirsty and it is such a thirst that makes it near impossible to think clearly the first time you experience it. Well I can't tell you for certain how it felt the first time, but since I still know how it feels after all these centuries.
"My mouth gets very dry, my throat so parched it burns. The rest of me feels very weak even though I'm not, my whole body aches. I am so hungry it is like I haven't eaten in weeks and I can no longer think clearly or even try to study any topic. There is no distinction between friends and family, they are now food. I look at people and can no longer see them, just their blood in their veins. I only see that, smell it, hear it, sense the warmth coming off them.
"I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted the first time until I saw it everywhere. I wanted that blood more than anything, like people and air. In humans the greatest instinct is to get oxygen especially if they're being suffocated by someone even if they're holding their child. They will drop their child to try to become free for air.
"I wanted it so much it hurt but Veni held me back and it must have been a chore considering it was apparent, even when I was new, that physically I was the stronger. He fed me, prevented me from feeding too much and regretting it later... honestly our instincts would have prevented such regret of the sudden desire to eat what we once were... mostly... depends on the person... but I didn't wake up like I should have after I fed. I stayed in that more instinctual state of mind for a while which is unusual and usually means I wouldn't come to, but I did..."

Thas couldn't help but think What made Rosemary come to?, while Eztli actually asked the question.
"If it's not too personal to answer, what made you come out of that more instinctive state?"

Rosemary growled a little and bared her fangs at Eztli and partially at Thas, "use a charm to become human and I will demonstrate."

Sephiroth took this opportunity to present Thas with a new Bible in which he had bookmarked and highlighted several passages, scribbling some notes, "I remember you mentioned Michael, and I wanted to give this to you before I forget to see if you see what I see."
Whenever Thas would read it, the first passage Sephiroth had highlighted was Exodus 3:2-6. Sephiroth's notes on the side said, notice how it says angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush and then confirms that it is God in that bush. The next place he had Thas read was Joshua 5: 13-15. Sephiroth noted that despite no name is given to this angel that it is obviously Michael since in Revelation 12:7 it is apparent he is the commander of the army of the Lord because it is mentioned that Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. Sephiroth also noted that it was curious that when Joshua fell face down and worshiped the angel that he didn't stop him like the angel did in Revelation 19:10 and that the angel in Joshua said the exact same thing that God said to Moses about the sandals.
The next passages were all from Daniel one being from chapter 8:11, 25 and basically asking if he agreed that the Prince of hosts and Prince of princes referred to Jesus, noting that elsewhere he is called Prince of princes, King of kings, and Lord of lords. Then he had Thas read all of Daniel 10 and highlighted in a different color 'Michael, one of the chief princes' and near the end where it says 'Michael, your prince.' And finally he had Thas glance at the whole of Daniel 12. He highlighted "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people" and wrote next to it 'who else is said to be the great prince who protects his people?'

When Rosemary bared her fangs, it readily became apparent to Thas what she had in mind, at least in some form. Eztli was still a little slow on the uptake though, and took out his transformation charm. The other angel raised an eyebrow, which made Eztli question Thas.
“What?”
Thas shook his head.
“Nothing, go on. Just know you were warned.”
“What do you mean?”
It was at this time, that Sephiroth showed him the bible and the notes he had taken. Thas just gave a slight shrug, which caused the younger angelic to roll his eyes a little and then transform into a human.... still, Eztli braced himself for whatever was about to happen.
Meanwhile, Thas seemed genuinely interested and surprised at what he found and discussed with Sephiroth.
“I know of only one other person that fits that description, and that is the Son of the Lord... Could you seriously be suggesting that Micheal and He are one and the same? A theory not shared by most, certainly, but with what is laid out here, it certainly seems plausible.”
