The flames acted as a sort of radar for attacks. Kali had been hit by his flames and had left the effective zone but that didn't make her safe. Taking the Smog before that she jumped out of, the psuedo-flamethrower and then a Fire Spin, one could argue that this battle wasn't going in her favor.
Add in the fall and the only thing Melty could take from it was that she was too tired or too damage to consistently phase, or to remember to. In short, he had the upper hand.
The ominous wind hit the flames and they seemed to almost battle. This told Melty the direction of the attack. So, the brat hadn't moved? Melty smirked. An ember attack straight down the middle, tearing a hole in the ominous wind and leaving it as about as effective as a breeze against a torrent of long lasting(due to their nature) flames.
Straight through, the ember aimed to explode against Yamask's little girl face.

Absol would move along Henritta trying to use its body to keep the girl from falling onto the ground too hard, once the new trainer popped out Absol got in a defensive position near the girl. But once he saw that the other trainer wasn't a threat to the girl and seemed to help with the situation, the Absol was still very wary of what was going on so it watched the trainers and the pokemon being pushed back by attack.
Almost in que with the Litwick being knocked back by the water attack and the few options it had left Absol was getting ready for a last ditch attack. His eyes would watch the situation then notices the fire burst through the wind heading straight for the Yamask. Absol knew it couldn't leave the trainer's side so he did the next best thing at the distance it was at. So it would gather energy in its horn then slashed in the air sending Psycho cut towards the ember trying to reach the fire attack before it would go off.

((Well that made this whole scene seem more like an awesome climax than it already did. Also, stop trying to internally damage my monkey))
The flames erupted from his mouth just as Chen Zhen vaulted over him. With the grass type exerting his weight, Pansear wasn't able to simply tilt his head and blast his opponent with the fire. Instead, Pansear used it to propel himself into a backflip and land on his feet.
He heard Salieri shouting and looked at the girl. Glancing over his shoulder, the monkey saw his trainer, Chili. He saw his reaction and knew what to do. Chili was closing his eyes with a smile. He looked serene in comparison to his usual energetic self. He resembled Cilan in a way; a look that meant only one thing.
"Salieri," Chili said as the girl counted down, opening his eyes at the last second, "You pass."
Pansear took the blow. Twisting his body at the last second stopped him from suffering any lasting damage; it struck closer to his shoulder blade than his spine; nothing the pokémon center couldn't solve. Pansear rolled and bounced on the ground, striking it with one limb and then the next before coming to a stop on the ground.
The flames had consumed the grass and the trees, leaving nothing but dirt and ash. The ceiling and air vents were caked with soot while the computerised voice in the wall crackled, "Battle Over. Challenger Wins."
"Whoa ho! You're on fire!" Chili grinned, walking across the arena until he reached the center. He expected Salieri to do the same. Chili opened his waistcoat and reached into his inside pocket, "Looks like you have what it takes after all! Well, it's the Pokémon League's rule. Take this Gym Badge!"
He held out a gold badge shaped like three kites attached end on end. Within the kites were three colours; green, red and blue.
"It's the Trio Badge! With this you have proof you defeated a Striaton City Gym Leader!"

((Internal damage ftw!!!))
…what?
Salieri felt a little shaky, and her passionate demeanor became quiet and tired. It was only now that the battle was over that she realized how brutally close it was. “I…I win?”
And then the full impact of this revelation slowly dawned on Salieri, her face growing brighter and more joyous every second. “I WON!!!!!!” she yelled happily as she jumped up, pumping her fist into the air. Cilan, who had seen the battle through the glass, shook his head and smiled. He wasn’t much older, but Salieri’s rookie status made him nostalgic to when he had won his first badge.
Chen Zhen took another deep breath, this one being a sigh of relief. He looked over to his trainer, who gave him a thumbs up. “Chen Zhen, nice!”
The Pansage returned the thumbs up with a weak smile, followed by his knees buckling. Chen Zhen kneeled, putting a hand on the ground to support himself. That was exhausting. Salieri, looking concerned, ran over to Chen Zhen. “Chen Zhen, are you okay?” she asked as she kneeled down next to him. Once again, the monkey gave her a thumbs up. This time, his stomach grumbled as well.
[Need….food…]
Salieri rubbed the green leaves making up her pokemon’s hair. “You hungry? C’mon, we’ll get something to eat. No, even better. I’ll make you dinner tonight!”
Chen Zhen’s eyes widened and his jaw dropped, but before he could make a response he was enveloped in a red light and returned to his pokeball. Sal put the pokeball away and walked over to Chili, accepting the badge. She flashed a grin and took out her badge case, fitting the badge into the slot.
“That’s one,” she whispered to herself happily before looking back up to Chili. “Thanks Chili. You know, I learned a lot from you and Cilan.”
Now that the battle was over, Salieri didn’t view Chili as an opponent. Come to think of it, she never really saw him as anything else. Were his eyes always that intense? And was his waiter outfit always such a good look on him? In confusion, Salieri looked over to Cilan, her face flushing with red. Was his hair always so…green?
“You…you guys are…” she stuttered, her face turning increasingly red as she rapidly turned from Chili to Cilan, before facing her previous opponent. "I..."
And suddenly, Salieri’s eyes turned into hearts and the fell to the floor, a huge dumb smile plastered to her face. Before she fell completely unconscious, she heard Cilan sigh and say, “Don’t worry Chili, I’ve got this one.”

Kali raised her precious, golden mask in defence; but there was no need after all. A cresent-like energy blasted through and disrupted the fire attack, preventing it from reaching. She looked in the direction of the attack and saw an Absol standing next to Avan. That Pokemon did that? However, it was a relief to see Avan was safe. She lost sight of him when he was blown down the alley and he was carried off by the Tropius.
Now it was her turn to retaliate. A purple mist leaked from Kali's mask and formed a large ball above her head in almost no time at all; it opened to reveal a hideous, evil eye. It stared at the Litwick and released purple-blue waves of energy. A Hex attack. If the Litwick decided to some how dodge, the Yamask could move with the eye above and release its waves where ever needed. If it was another fire attack, she'd move out of the way.

It would appear that the Absol was on Kali's side and not Melty's. Evidence of this existed in the form of his attack being stopped, but not the Hex attack. Melty merely moved out of the way of the attack, moving backward as it crashed downward into the street.
At the same time Melty attacked in the gap between attacks. An Ember attack. If a Hex was fired to stop it, he merely had to fire another one. In fact, it this turned into a rapid fire match then he was fine with it. His powers of fire had been boosted with Flash Fire, it was Kali who was more at risk of tiring herself out should she turn this into a battle of stamina, especially with the superior amount of damage she'd taken.
And if any Ember hit the ball it'd destroy the eye, with ease.

"I need... to get to Melty..." Henrietta was tired and light headed and she struggled to get down the alleyway.
"You need to go to a hospital," Cress said as he put a hand on her shoulder. She turned her head to look at him. She wore a tired expression and blood covered that part of her head.
"He's... They're going to kill each other... Melty, I don't want him to die.. So please don't stop me," she said and she started down the alleyway again.
"You can't possibly hope to make it all the way. You'll collapse long be-
Spoke too soon. Henrietta hit the dirt, barely catching herself with her forearms before her face hit the ground. She grit her teeth and strained herself to stand.
"You look like you've taken more damage then your Pokemon, there's no way he'd get up from wounds like those, you shouldn't be trying to," Cress said as he stepped over.
"Come on, let me take you to a hospital, you'll die."
"Once I'm sure Melty is safe," Henrietta said as he slowly, but surely, managed her way to her feet.
and Cress watched. During the match, her will was broken with a few words. Her will to fight.
All of this comes from her concern for her Pokemon? A Pokemon she probably hasn't even had for a while.
"What is.. Melty.. to you?" Cress asked.
"My friend and I put his pride on the line like an idiot. Melty doesn't deserve this just because I got attacked by that Yamask," Henrietta said as she started down the alley again.
Cress was impressed. This was not the same trainer he'd battled in the gym. She could push herself far beyond her physical limits for a thing called compassion. He smiled softly and stepped around in front of her before kneeling down, his arms moving behind himself.
He was offering to carry her piggy back.
"Come, miss Henrietta, I shall play the role of your noble steed," Cress said and Henrietta practically fell onto his back. His arms caught her legs and her arms barely locked around his collar.
I'll have to explain the blood to my wife, but oh well.
"Th-thank you.." Henrietta mumbled into his ear as her head rested and Cress merely smiled and moved forward.
The two were off down the alleyway, eventually reaching the end where Avan and the Absol stood. Absol, having stopped Melty's ember attack. Henrietta saw this and instantly struggled, weakly one might add, to climb off of Cress' back. He obliged and she stumbled her way in front of Absol.
"Don't... Don't put them at any more risk," she said.
From the looks of things, one could see that they were at a standoff. Henrietta, in her daze of blood loss and head trauma, could observe that much instantly. Now was the only time they had to recall their Pokemon. She looked at Crown and hoped he'd understand this as well.
Simipour was awaiting orders. If either Pokemon chose not to return to their pokeball, he'd move faster than they could match(being a much higher 'level') and they'd eat Hydro Pump.
So, as the Ember attack went off, Henrietta turned and took Melty's ball, clicking the button to recall him.
And so he was recalled, putting an end to this long and terrible 'match'.

Absol was still in his battle stance waiting for the next move from the rouge Litwick but before that could happen the Yamask seemed to launch it's own attack at the pokemon. Absol started to notice this and saw that this fight was going to get worse before it got a ending and he was planning on trying to stop that pokemon by any means but before that could happen the female trainer that he was with earlier stumbled in front of him as if using herself as a shield, he watched at first to hear what she was saying. Listening lightly to what she was saying as well as the quick actions of recalling the pokemon seemed to put a end to the fight but the fire move was already launched and heading right for them. Absol saw that she was barely moving so he would quickly move under her and then stands up quickly and pulls her out of the way just in case that ember move would still carry some fire power to it. He would quickly move her to where the other trainer and Simipour was.
[not sure if the attack was getting canceled out by hex]

Avan nodded at Henrietta's look. He knew this had to end as well. As she returned Melty, Avan crossed the field and picked up Kali. "You've been fighting all this time...I'm sorry I'm such bad trai-, heh. Sorry..." The Yamask shook her head to disagree. "Well, I'm still sorry." He smiled and returned the ghost Pokemon back to her ball.
Coming back to the girl and the blue-haired trainer, he saw that she really was banged up. "Uh..." He started, "Please let me come." He rubbed the back of his head. It was a bit awkward since it was Kali, and by extension him, who had caused those wounds. He wondered if the blue-haired trainer knew that. Still, Avan wanted to help, or at least stay with her. "I want to make sure she'll be ok."
First an short introduction, "I'm Crown..." Avan said to the one who held Henrietta. What made this even more awkward, was that Avan still did not know the girl's name. He'd ask when she was in more fit of a condition.

Henrietta was supported by the Absol. Slowly she pushed away and patted its head. "I'll be..."
She looked to Avan and saw that Kali was no longer going to be trouble and as soon as she saw that it confirmed that Melty would be safe. And at that moment she lost consciousness.
And found herself in Cress' arms, cradled like a child. Despite the blood and wounds, she looked peaceful for the first time that day. Cress looked to Avan as he spoke.
Depressed? Guilty? Cress stared at the trainer, ascertaining his emotions and then he shook his head.
"I'm going to need your full name, and his as well," Cress nodded his head in Kijin's directions. "Normally, I'm supposed to call the cops. However, this time I'm going to decide what to do without the cops. First, your names. Hurry, too, this girl needs medical attention.
"Second, you'll have to forfeit some cash to cover the cost of the property damage you've caused. Third, I want you to avoid any pokemon battles, wilds or trainer, until tomorrow when you are to come by the gym first thing. I would ask what happened now, but this girl needs to go.
"If you skip town, or don't come by, I will be informing the police, by the way," Cress said it all with the same tone. A mixed sense of kindness and seriousness. Nothing bitter, nothing angry. Obligation and kindness, like a knight of sorts.
He smiled softly at Avan and said, "I do hope these terms are okay for you? It's as easy as I'm allowed to go, anything else would compromise my position as a gym leader."

Avan sighed with relief when he saw he in the arm of the man.
Gym leader? Avan was surprised. He hadn't expected that. The manner of dress threw him off. But even so, he hadn't expected the gym leader to be so attractive.
"A-Avan Briendal." He stated as him name. "Crown is my nickname...but, but you call me whatever you like."
As for the other guy, he didn't know. But he'd have to thank him and his Pokemon properly when he got the chance.
For the cash, he'd try to give as much as he could, but he didn't have much to start. Traveling wasn't the cheapest way to live life. As for avoiding battle, that he could do; or rather what he had intended to do.
An invitation to come to the gym by the gym leader himself? Accepted. Apparently the reason for it had yet to sink in for the boy.
The he mentioned the police. ((Like the police ever did anything~ Lol jk)) "Don't worry, I'll be there. The terms are fine."

Drip.
Drip...
Cress looked at Henrietta. Yup, she was bleeding badly. He had to go. Now.
"I'm sorry I must depart now. Would you please obtain that other trainers name for me? Here," he gave Crown his number, "call me when you have everything. I expect to see you in the morning. Thank you," he said and he was off.
Cress raced down the street, and then another, onward to a hospital.

"Right, of course." Avan accepted the phone number and watched the Gym Leader run off. He waited till was out of sight, and then a large smile crossed his face. Ahhh...I got his phone number!
Composing himself, he approached Kijin, thanking him and asked his name, saying that gym leader wanted him to get it.
Later, he'd have to check on Henrietta in the hospital. Or sometime after his meeting with Cress. He'd bring flowers. Girls like flowers right? And a card. Yeah, that'd work.

Absol would nod lightly as he feels the girl move off his body, he would nod lightly before hearing her sentence stop and fall back into the other trainer's arms. The Absol wanted to catch her but saw that she was in capable arms once it saw that she was being taken care of the pokemon would make its way back to Kijin. The Tropious had finally regained conciseness and started down the destroyed alley way moving back towards Kijin as well slowly moving up behind Avan.
Kijin leaning against the wall as he braces his ribs a bit he spots Absol coming back towards him and smiles a little then hears Avan come up to him and starts to ask for his name,"Honestly i'm not in the mood to tell you nor deal with this, if that gym leader wants my name and information i'll see him at the hospital now would you mind getting out of my way I have some more pressing matters to handle." He says slowly standing up he would pull out his pokeballs and recall Absol who was right next to him and almost on cue with him getting up Tropious would use her veins to pull Kijin onto her back above Avan's head and head towards Steelix. Kijin would recall the pokemon right away as Tropious was now heading for the pokemon center.
Once they arrive he slides off Tropious and recalls it into its pokeball he would move into the center ringing the bell a few times as he waits for nurse Joy to come and take his pokemon. He would let her handle healing them as he lets her know he was going to be in one of the rooms upstairs. He would groan and grunt a bit as he heads up to one of the rooms and almost immediately crashes onto one of the beds passing out.
The next day Kijin would slowly sit up on the bed groaning lightly feeling the slight pain from his ribs, he pants lightly as he tries to catch his breath a bit before moving out of the room and heads downstairs heading towards the pokemon center's front desk. He finds his pokeballs sitting on the counter with a note with them that has his names on it. Kijin opens the note and starts to read it," Dear Kijin I know this is a bit odd considering but I think you should know that your pokemon are fine but your Steelix has scar along its body that we couldn't heal i'm sorry. Love Nurse Joy."
Kijin would look at his pokeballs and sighs lightly as he rubs his ribs a little feeling like they shared the same scar, he would then put the pokeballs on his waist then starts to head for the hospital remembering what he said what he was going to do. As much as he didn't want to do this he did say he was going to do this. He soon heads for the hospital asking where the trainer that the gym leader brought in was once he knows where the room is he arrives and takes a seat near the door.
