Houou was so accustomed to these roads that h was starting to recognize even the smallest landmarks. If only there were different means of travel that didn't place him out in the open road for anime to see. He wasn't quite confident in his skill to fend off many enemy's with blood falcon at his side. However, he knew that e was skilled enough to draw their attention as the young girl escaped. These are issues that constantly weighed on Houous mind. Little blood falcon was really growing on him indeed if he was thinking this heavily in her safety.
"so what will you do once in takumi young one? Do you have any friends there? Or perhaps you have a mission set aside? You know if you are ever in Sasagi village again, you need only talk to the bartender Magnus. He will make sure you are well employed."
Houou was still adjusting to being responsible for someone so young, but something about it warmed his heart.

"I... don't really have anyone I know," Luna answered, both truthfully and falsely. Of course, there were people like demon man and Houou, but she barely knew them even if she greatly appreciated the warmth of their brief passing. There was also the one who saved her from the flood, but Luna understood that for the time being, she could expect no help from her savior. Other than those people... Luna really had no one, so for most intents and purposes, she didn't have anyone she knew. Very hesitantly, Luna further replied, "And I'll think about Magnus. I will remember him." The idea of taking jobs was still so foreign and new to her, but it was eventually going to be something she needed to tackle. Returning to Sasagi would... probably be in the same boat. Anyways, she finally got around to answering why her destination was Takumi, "I heard that Takumi was something like a merchant's and crafter's capital. Fighting and... stuff like that. I guess I'll be expected to do that one day, but I don't know if I'm ready yet and... and I'm scared, so if I can, I want to find work in one of the workshops."
For all the hesitation Luna professed, though, it appeared that she was at least taught the basics. She diligently kept her eyes on her surroundings as she walked, though unlike Houou who's thoughts were full of how to defend, Luna's eyes were kept peeled for whichever way was the best direction to run in depending on the circumstances of any danger that may present itself. It was a cowardly solution, but Luna honestly believed that this was best way she could have the least burden on Houou.

Atsuma waited together with Atsuko for the battle that would ensue. It appeared to be that the boy was quite nervous. He was out in the real world with real life consequences now. This was different from hunting the salamandar. He'd be going up against actual people with real motivations. People that would stop at nothing to achieve their goals. Atsuma felt the same way. Nothing would stop him from going back home. No matter how long it took. "You know this is pretty cool. I...I never thought I'd be doing something like this hehe..." He whispered to Atsuko. Hopefully the man would trust him a little bit more after the mission was finished. If the mission ever got finished Toya wanted to kill it had been much too long. Magnus would never give Atsuko such a mission if he knew Atsuma was involved. Things were turning out brilliantly! The only downside was that Toya could not kill the men or the child. Oh how sweet it would be to save the child and ultimately slay him. His eyes asking why as his life slowly faded away...Like paper. He'd make note to not use any genjutsu in the incoming battle. As far as the red eye'd demon was concerned, Atsuma was a ninjutsu specialist.
In the distance, Atsuma could see 4 inidividuals approaching. Suddenly his breathing grew heavier and the only thing he could hear was his heart beat and breathing. It was almost time to act. In Atsuma's mind he was already playing out several scenarios for possible actions. The enemy squad was composed on a puppeteer, medic and genjutsu specialist. From his studies of Doujutsu back in his academy days, Atsuma knew more or less most of the basic capabilities of the Sharingan. Using genjutsu against someone who possessed a pair of them was pretty much useless. Atsuko could incapacitate that specific enemy without a hassle. The medic was in a team of two offensive players leading Atsuma to deduce that he was not an offensive medic and mostly support based although he could be very wrong about this. It suddenly dawned on him how diverse medics can be and how much of a problem that posed. Atsuma and Atsuko...Wow their names are literately two letters apart what in the ******** the two would each go for specific members. Atsuma had fought and won against what most would consider to be the most eccentric puppeteer known to man. He was sure he could take him on...Or maybe he was being too over confident. The most vital part of each scenario was protecting the child. "Alright...I'll go after the puppeteer and keep the child out of harms way..." He whispered to Atsuko. Hopefully the man would agree with the plan.
When they were finally close enough to engage, Atsuma moved. He wouldn't use his flute in this battle. He still hadn't mastered the use of the flute to perform jutsu higher than D rank. That was a problem he'd later have to over come since it composed most of his style. With a quick blur of hand seals the boy created a tornado about 10 feet above the puppeteer. The bandit would effectively become unable to move within it and puppeteers were required to move a lot in order to use their puppets. Just the process of summoning the puppet required arm space that he currently didn't have. Tetsuhiko was a curious puppeteer though. He could manipulate his puppets with a magnetive field. It was quite curious. Snapping out of his flash back the boy quickly flicker stepped in and grabbed a hold of the boy. While Atsuko was still far away the boy spoke some words to the child. What had Atsuma said? Either way he quickly created a Kaleidoscope of paper butterflies and sent them straight at the medic and Genjutsu specialist before they ever knew what was happening. The butterflies would rapidly target the two and morph into shuriken. This would give him enough to to run away from them as they would be busy avoiding the technique.
Toya could feel his blood racing. Adrenaline coursing through his body after so long. Magnus wanted him to watch and count supplies?! This is what he was made for! Everything in battle became so bright, so vivid. It was light all of his senses burst to life and become literal antennas capturing everything in high definition. When Toya flicker stepped to save the kid, he had used the opportunity to vent a little. "Keep quiet or I'll slit your throat." The boy's eyes widened and tears began to form. Toya loved children. While Atsuma dealt with dialogue and politics Toya had to figure out what to do for the rest of the battle. The puppeteer was temporarily sedated, but he needed a place to keep the child safe. Where in the hell would that be? Then the idea hit him. Creating a Kaze Nori, Toya would place the boy on top of it and send it up into the air. The child would panic of course, but that was the fun part. Toya had made it large enough so that the only way the child would fall is if he was an idiot and wanted to commit suicide.
Now that Atsuma had successfully dealt with the Child's safety he turned his attention back to the puppeteer who was currently trapped in his tornado jutsu. The man's shouting was drowned out by the vicious swirling of wind. It was quite disheartening to see. The boy would use his low air pressure technique to remove the air within the tornado effectively encasing the puppeteer in an air tight tornado ironically enough. This only sped up the process of the low air pressure technique and cause the bandit to experience almost immediate asphyxiation. Atsuma would see him struggling to breath and his face go dark. "OH NO!" Atsuma shouted in despair. He had actually killed the man instead of just incapacitating him. "I...I didn't mean to!" Atsuma knew he was meant to kill people. That's what shinobi were trained for, but it was just so odd killing for the first ever. It felt so wrong for some reason.
It wasn't glorious or anything, but that's all that a shadow clone could do for the time being. Watching the man suffocate wasn't nearly as fun as watching someone explode and turn to dust from within a tornado. But at least that was over with. Now all Toya had to do was wait for Atsuko to finish on his end. If Atsuko couldn't handle his side then Toya would definitely watch him die. And take those eyes. The eyes of the Devil.

Atsuko prepped himself mentally for all of this. His pet wouldn't partake in any of the action, he hadn't been properly trained yet, but that wasn't to important. They knew where these people were coming from and as such they'd be able to take on the first steps, gaining an initial advantage that they'd sure as hell keep. To keep to his plan Atsuko waited on the side for Atsuma to make his initial movements, only stepping out once those were finished and the child was out of the way.
There it was, go time. Once the shuriken got thrown Atsuko dashed out with flicker step, hands forming seals rapidly as he went towards the one that looked to be the genjutsu specialist. Almost immediately once he was noticed he could feel a genjutsu getting placed, fake obstacles appearing on the ground in front of him. Atsuko seemed to hesitate, seemingly falling for it before at the last second breaking the genjutsu with one last dash. His hand encompassed the genjutsu specialist and then flared to life with black flames. A long blade of fire overwhelmed and consumed the mans head, instantly killing and incinerating his upper body and head. To finish it off Atsuko yanked his hands downwards, destroying the rest of the body into ash before jumping back in time to just avoid the fist of the medical nin.
There was another incoming attack he hadn't seen however, getting slammed in the ribs by a chakra enhanced punch and sent back a few feet. Black flames glowed to life on Atsuko's hands as he started making circles around the medical nin, both preparing for hand to hand. Atsuko took up his fighting stance and seemed to wait for the incoming attack.
Like an animal waiting to strike Atsuko dodged the first flurry of blows, sharingan watching every movement that came in carefully. Each punch was avoided sometimes only by a hairs breath but it was always enough. Luckily the chakra enhanced strength only seemed to be in the hands, after all upper body fighting was a specialty right now for him.
There it was finally. An over extended strike was grabbed by the wrist and twisted, before Atsukos other hand slammed into the elbow from below and he dropped. This snapped the mans elbow, the ligaments spinning off internally due to the twisting motion, causing his to collapse to his knees in excruciating pain. That would last long however as it was followed up by a quick crunching blow to the mans nose, knocking him unconscious.
With the three taken care of Atsuko went to work, whether Atsuma disagreed or not, and burned the bodies entirely. When he was done there was nothing but three scorch marks on the road, even that would be kicked over by dust and dirt. The dirty deed taken care of he'd dust off his hands and turned to Atsuma. "Bring the kid down. Alas, Takeda refused a break or even any kind of healing, insisting on seeing the doctor after the mission, after the roundtrip return to Kirigakure. He did know that they still needed to get to Takumi and then come back, right? Kagerou stopped joshing herself, She very obviously sighed after his answer, making it infinitely clear that she did not agree. However, as he wasn't wrong to focus on the missing during the missing and stave off any medical treatment until after it... she endured. As he was the one most hurt by his injuries, she didn't have the right to push him down... nor the power to.
On a related note, Takeda also ate all the food. Although, in his defense, Kagerou didn't stop him from doing so. She just endured the hunger. Having only limited knowledge on Jiongu physiology, she assumed being well-fed would help with healing like it did with normal people.
The rest of the trip was spent largely in silence. Keeping a casual eye for any of the mundane dangers of the open road, Kagerou spent the time self-reflecting on this and that. She contemplated various facets of her life. What she enjoyed recently. What she did well in. What she could improve. A review and critique of her recent encounter with the new Mizukage. Some thoughts and predictions on certain family matters.

With neither extra effort nor decrease in power, Kagerou can affect two extra targets for each eiseijutsu activation as long as they fulfill the requirements to be a target (i.e. contact for most eiseijutsu by default or sound when Kagerou performs eiseijutsu). Past the starting two, she must spend a total of 5(n-3)+10 energy split evenly between chakra and stamina for each additional target; n = number of targets. Odd energy costs are split with 1 more point of stamina than chakra. This additional cost cannot be reduced or refunded.

• Evergreen Growth - Life always finds a way, especially when it's helped by someone who truly cherishes it. Plants cultivated by Kagerou grow as if the soil they are nourished by is +1 grade higher than it actually is. Unfertilized soil yields crops in 2 rl weeks. Low-grade fertilizer yields crops in 1 week. High-grade fertilizer reaches a new level of fast and yields crops in 4 days. (Post-acceptance note: I just realized that there is an Evergreen religion in this guild. I did not mean for this to be a religious PA in any way. It's just botany. I hope that's not a problem.)

"Hey, hey, howdy! How are ya? Think you could help me about for a moment?" She waved her arms erratically in the roadside as she blocked the merchant's travel. He eventually grew interested enough to disembark from his vessel and approach. She began to describe the exact plant she needed.
It frustrated her when he turned away from her abruptly. Seriously? He was 'too good' to help her out? She put her hands on her hips and was about to tear him a new one, but he simply rummaged through the side of his wagon. In a small chest within his inventory, rested her prize. He presented the chest to her with classic salesman showmanship, then opened it to reveal the special flower with the odd stamen. Her eyes brightened as he held it out to her as a gift. She accepted it graciously, then reached into her pocket for payment.
He shook his head, smiled, and re-entered his wagon to carry on his way. She stared, disbelieving her luck.
Then she noticed her pockets felt lighter.
