"I didn't think Pokemon battles got so intense," Doctor Hammersmock said.

"Yeah, it's scary to think that my little Lester is out there somewhere. It's already a pain to make him wear anything but shorts, but knowing that he might end up like this? It's... Frightening!" said Nurse Aldo.

"These are we Pokemon?" The doctor held up a belt and looked at the Pokeballs inside.

"Yeah, they all look so cute!"

"Ah well, let's go," he said as he tossed the belt onto a chair near the door.

And after they left that belt would eventually fall to the ground courtesy of crappy placement, and a button would hit the floor and a light would fill the room of darkness and night.

And from all of that emerged Melty.

[Time to eat.]

((So now we just need Robby, Eunmi, Avan and a few others to hit the sack, then we can skip over to the next day.))

((I wonder where Artemis is... Or how she's doing. neutral ))
PostPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:14 am

((She went into hiding. But in all seriousness, I have no clue. I was wonderin' the same thing. If you're wondering what to do for Prof. Juniper, I think it was said you don't have to wait on her...or something along those lines. I dunno >< ))

"That was rude." Avan flipped his hair and he let out a discontented breath, "Kids these days." He still held Kali's ball in his hand, holding it up, "We'll run to the Pokemon Center...and then we'll look for a place to stay. I want to go check on that girl, but I have to be at the gym early" He thought deeply for a minute. Not very deep, but enough. Avan didn't want to get himself in more trouble by over-sleeping. The boy walked back through the charred alley and left the scene that had been a battle site only a little while ago.

From behind, Baku swooped in and plopped himself down atop Avan's head, startling the boy immensely. "Ahh!" Avan jerked and Kali's pokeball flew into the air; the boy made another jerking motion forward to catch it. It was then that Avan realized he had forgotten all about the pink pokemon thanks to his mind being distracted from the battle. Still...

"You a**!" Avan scolded, putting the pokeball safely on his waist. "You scared the s**t out of me!" The Munna laughed, gripping the boys head.

[Mind elsewhere?] Once again Baku spoke to his mind using his psychic abilities.

"It is." The brown haired boy replied. In all honesty it was. So much had happened while the tapir-like pokemon was off doing who knows what.

[I could imagine.]

"Wh-what do you mean by that?" Avan's face showed his questioning. "You were watching?" He grimmaced.

[I didn't think you had it in you!]

"And you just sat around and did nothing. We were in danger!" Avan was riled up. Baku laughed again. "And my clothes!" He pulled his jacket up as much as he could for Baku to see it. "HERE!" Avan pointed to a ripped spot and then to a burned spot. "THIS is what happened. It's gonna take me the rest of the night to repair this damage."

[You blame me?] Munna retorted. His voice was sarcastic and showed he was enjoying the boy's frustration.

"Well...n-, actually I do!"

[What? You fool.]

"Hmph." Avan pouted and continued his walk to the Pokemon Center. It was silent bewteen the boy and Pokemon, except for an increasingly annoying hum from the Munna atop Avan's head. The boy could swear he was doing it on purpose.

*

In the Pokemon Center Avan gave Kali and Baku to the Nurse Joy behind the counter to heal. A few minutes later they were back in his posession. He asked the Nurse if there were any room free that night and was handed a key. Avan thanked her and went to find his room.

*

Before bed he let Kali and Baku out to stretch and eat. He polished Kali's mask so that it was once again shiny, which the Yamask enjoyed watching him do. He also did all that was necessary for him to do before bed. Lastly, Avan mended his jacket. It was as much of a hassle as he thought it'd be; but luckily he had enough fabric on him to mend the burned spots and enough thread for the ripped parts. The time was worth it for the result. If he wanted to impress the gym leader, he'd have to look good.

Avan returned Kali and motioned for Baku to be ready to eat his dream. The boy crawled into bed and got comfortable. A few minutes passed and Baku broke the silence of the night.

[Did you enjoy it?]

The question seemed ominous, but Avan got it quite quickly.

"You know I'm trying to sleep, right?" He turned over and faced the wall; burying his head in the blankets he brought up closer. There was a moment of silence. "A little..."

*

Soon Avan was asleep and would begin to dream. Baku would sense this, being a Munna and all, and start to feed. It wasn't the usual nightmare. It seemed pleasent. The Munna stopped eating, not before getting a taste of course. Even Baku felt he deserved something nice that night. Even if it was just a dream.

((Don't RP her, just skip it. Have your character walking away as if he'd just finished seeing her, having obtained whatever you needed/wanted.))

((Sorry guys. I'm really busy with work/my last semester/my senior project, and even if that constituted a good excuse to use up all my time (it doesn't), my major reason I haven't been online is because all my free time I've been devoting hanging out with friends I'll be leaving in a month and a half.

I'd like to say, "I promise to post more," but considering my circumstances, I'm going to say I will try to post more. I will definitely do so after my graduation and project is finished (we're pushing for an April 27th deadline), but I don't think that means I should get involved in anything major until then.))

((I meant to ask something earlier. When it comes down to evolution of pokemon do we do what goes on in the show and it could happen at any time as long as they have been used enough times? Or follow the game logic and just as long as they are used enough times and meet the right requirements?

Also who else are we waiting on to continue the RP?))
PostPosted: Sun Apr 10, 2011 7:32 pm

((Myself, I'll do a timeskip in a minute.

Also, growth is important here. They can evolve at anytime but try to make it more meaningful. Like, put it to will, I guess? Say, for example;

Pokemon A's will has been shot for the last 30 or so pages
Pokemon B beats Pokemon A to a bloody pulp
B then starts beating A's trainer
A's resolve strengthens and he evolves to protect his trainer.))

The following day...

Saralyn Jenkins had always had a good life. She grew up and became a strong trainer and retired to become a mother after meeting the man of her dreams. She raised three beautiful children and watched them depart on their own journeys. Her oldest, Samuel Jenkins, had returned home one day when they had gotten some bad news.

Rupert Jenkins, Saralyn's husband, had fallen at work. Tests showed that he was in critical condition and had been afflicted with cancer. Samuel had returned home to work two jobs to help pay for things in his father's steed. The duo had struggled but ultimately triumphed.

Rupert was recovering, but he was still in the ICU. He spent more time on his feet then before and the doctors said he might actually pull through, it was a miracle!

We settle in on this day.

Saralyn busied herself as she did every morning, tidying up before work. You see, Samuel returned late from his second job and sometimes he left little messes. Saralyn didn't mind them, mind you, as they kept her busy and helped her wake up.

It was while she was throwing some trash out that her phone started to ring. Answering it, she said in a cheerful tone, "Jenkins residence, Saralyn speaking."

"Hello, Mrs. Jenkins? This is Doctor Troy," came the lowered, melancholy tone on the other end of the line.

"Doctor Troy? What do I owe the honor?" Saralyn asked. She felt herself grow slightly excited. After all, it had been nothing but good news for weeks, months, now!

"I have some bad news," the doctor said.

Saralyn felt her stomach twist in a knot and she hesitantly replied, "y-yes?"

"Well, we don't know what happened, but last night your husband.. He passed away," the doctor said.

"You don't know what happened?" Saralyn said after almost a minutes pause.

"He just... Crashed, there was nothing we could do," the doctor said.

"I.. see.."

"I'm sorry for your loss."

"R-right..."

Saralyn hung up the phone and immediately she began to sob. Her husband, gone. After twenty long years of marriage, he had perished. She broke down, dropping to her knees and crying.

This couldn't be real, it just couldn't.

But it was.

[Ah, I feel refreshed,] Melty said with a sigh of relief as he snuck back into Henrietta's room. Tapping the Pokeball, he returned himself. He felt great, a shame for all of those patients in the ICU, though.

And some time later, Henrietta herself woke up. She felt like s**t. It had been some time since a doctor had refilled her morphine, but they were all busy at the moment. She had two large bruises covered up by the hospital gown and she felt herself naked underneath, which instantly made her uncomfortable.

Her head throbbed and her nose stung and she slowly sat up as her eyes opened. A blanket, not too comfy but nothing horrible, a hospital room, a nurse calling a surgeon over the speaker.

And by the door, on a chair, Kijin.

Henrietta instantly gripped the blanket between her fingers and pressed herself, painfully, against the back of the bed with a wince.

How had he gotten in? A perplexing mystery to Henrietta, seeing as how Kijin was not a family member, thus he wouldn't be listed as an emergency contact. However, little did she know that security was lax as everyone was stressing over the thirty-nine patients that had inexplicably died last night.

The hospital was a chaotic ocean of movement, tears, screaming family members of debating doctors. And a tiny blip in all of that was Henrietta, much less important was Kijin himself, who sat by the door.

Henrietta hesitantly said, "h-h-hello," as her eyes scanned the room slowly for her things.

Only her pokebelt by the door, her bag, her clothes, her shinai, she'd have to pick up when she checked herself out.

An uncomfortable feeling rose up from her gut as her eyes slowly moved back to Kijin and settled on his hands.

Kijin had been sitting the chair for some time now having already simply walked past most of the guards and personnel that were franticly running around the hospital talking to loved ones and each other. He heard a few things as he had headed to Henreitta's room that morning chatter of "Patients mysteriously passing away through the night almost at the exact same time", or the strange sightings of a "errie light that had flashed in different parts of the hospital". He simply shrugged it off for the moment but kept it in his head for the time being. Since then he had caught some more sleep in the chair in Henrietta's room waiting for her to awaken, it wasn't long before he was awakened by her voice.

"Oh sleeping beauty has finally awakened, so how do you feel?" He asks not really moving from his spot near the door, his arms resting on his stomach he seemed to be a bit more mellow then anyone might have guessed after what happened last night. He looked at her the way she was bandaged up he looked worst then she did.

If one were to go from top to bottom down the list, in order, you would have...

Bruises on her legs from the Lillipup attack, one wound on the head from her fall off of the ledge, burns on her arms from her training, miscellaneous bruising from the hydro pump, two nasty bruises from two night shades, a blow to the nose, another crack in the skull from running into steelix and, well, that was it, really.

Even if one claimed to look worse, Henrietta's pain was mostly just bruising. But even so, simply breathing hurt, she was more so constantly in pain than anything.

Sleeping beauty?

Henrietta's cheeks tinged red.

It's just a general statement, he's not calling me beautiful.

Henrietta lowered her head and looked down at the blanket. He had tried to help, right? And he had. The Absol, the Steelix had saved her from being roasted alive, right? Well, so went the assumption, though Henrietta would've escaped being fried on her own, she didn't exactly know that. All in all, he seemed like a pretty decent guy when it came to his intentions.

Even so, he'd unnerved her the first time they met, and to wake up with him in the room didn't help either. He came off as forceful as far as Henrietta was concerned, but even so she wouldn't address it. After all, she didn't want to be rude, or was it that she was too shy to be?

Either way she said, "thank you... for yesterday..."

Kijin sighed lightly but winced a little after he let out his breath he would try to sit up groaning heavily as he felt his ribs shoot pain right through his body, He sits up looking over at her gripping the chair arms tightly as he gets in a comfortable sitting position,"No problem...though I would suggest getting a new pokemon." He says in a soft tone he knew it sounded mean but from what he saw last night and the damage she took as well as everything else he remembered from the battle it was clear that something was horribly wrong with her control over Litwick.

The night before had been downright terrible for Robby Tobb. First he'd been forced to go back to the pokemon center to heal the defeated Roast. If that hadn't been bad enough, the pokemon on the route hadn't been quite so kind.

At first, they had avoided him, apparently frightened by the trainer's large size. And that, when they'd realized he was slow and used pokemon to defend himself, some of them decided he was a good meal. Suffice it to say, the obese lad wasn't going to be going back down that route if he had his way. Stupid pokemon...

So there he was, in the center and half-asleep with his pokemon sitting in their pokeballs and his stomach rumbling. Not so many trainers as he'd have liked out on the road, they'd been beaten by others or moved on before he'd gotten up there, and so he was still fairly broke. The chips he was eating weren't enough to be called breakfast, and the food at the center wasn't going to be enough for him. But the lad accepted with a sigh as he stood from the floor - the nurse had made a point to say that the beds weren't built for someone of his size - and made his way from the pokemon center, into the new day.

A new Pokemon? Henrietta sighed. Melty had gotten out of control, but was it due to his nature. It was the same with her gym match. As soon as it became a matter of pride, she could no longer control her Pokemon. Furthermore, if she herself got injured they only seemed more determined to fight.

In Melty's case, he became far more dangerous. Was Darumi the same? Would he become just as vicious at the sight of his trainer in pain? Henrietta gripped the blanket tighter and closed her eyes.

Pride is...

To fight for it is....

Stupid.

Henrietta opened her eyes and she looked at Kijin. She shook her head and said, "no, I just need to be a better trainer."

Then she forced a soft smile, "d-do what do I owe the visit?"

((Having that said, @Artemis - Good luck!! biggrin I shall skip ze part with Prof. Juniper now, and shall be moving on with ze timeskip in the next town, just to catch up. ))

[LOCATION: ACUMULA TOWN]

Morning came. Winterson had just stayed the night in the Acumula Town Pokemon Center, that is, after a day's travel from Nuvema Town. The professor was kind enough to give him his new trainer card, which meant that he was now ready to participate in Pokemon League activities here in Unova. Having that said, he would soon be on his way to Striaton City to face his very first Gym Challenge. But before that, he thought that a training session was in order. After all, he wouldn't want his Pokemon to be unprepared for the worst.

The boy left his room after making the necessary preparations to venture out. Moving to the counter of the Pokemon Center, he had retrieved two of his Pokemon from Nurse Joy and her helpful Audino. Unlike back in Sinnoh, Audino were more common here than Chansey. Winterson stowed the two Pokeball away inside his bag, and then, returned the keys for the room that was given to him. As a trainer, he had the privilege to ask for lodging at the Pokemon Center, provided that he has his trainer card with him. It was surely a good thing that he had passed by the laboratory, and he felt quite pleased that he made the decision.

"Thanks for taking care of my Pokemon, Nurse Joy. I'll see you around," he bid Nurse Joy, and the nurse behind the counter responded with a smile, and a wave as Winterson walked towards the exit.

Training. Perhaps, the best place to train would be in the forest, he thought. So he walked towards the town exit, and moved to the next route, leading to Striaton City. Early in the morning, the fog in the next route was still a bit thick, but sooner or later, it would thin out and disappear.
