A hand went up to cover his mouth, but the smile had been seen - there was nothing left to do but try to wipe it down to a more acceptable level of amusement. "Blunt." He observed. "Won't do you well with another Kage, understood? They'll take it as... disrespectful. They don't know you like I do. Don't have reason to care about you. Not like I do." Inka's face still had the smirk, but his eyes grew dark. "Let me give you an example.
"A man of another organisation comes to me as an official representative, with proposals and ideals. But he has no papers. What does that say to me? That he is unorganised, has no plans in place. He says to me his boss is looking forward to a vacation. What does that say? That his boss is letting their burdons show. I'm sensing a fractured front from the organisation this man represents." Inka lifts a hand in a dismissal gesture. "I have no reason to risk cooperating them as they are." The Kage looks long and hard Kenshin, willing him to understand the subtext of this conversation. "You understand?"

"Why does the Lord laugh so much?" Kenshin was always perplexed by why Inka was always laughing. He then winced and began grinding his teeth when he thought that rebellious thought. Teeth grinding was a bad habit of his that he inflicted on himself as punishment for rebellious thoughts. If he had too many of those he would end up as evil, good for nothing criminal trash. He then stopped and listened to the Mizukage intently. He ground his teeth again when his Mizukage mentioned that his straight forward nature would be detrimental during this diplomatic mission.
Kenshin then latched onto his Lord's example that he had offered quite vividly. "I understand, my Lord. It sounds to me like this Konohagakure is a land of lawlessness. If they don't clean up their act they may end up like Gimangakure. We certainly don't want them threatening our great lawful land." The warrior made his point very plainly and forcefully. He was certainly not a stupid man, but he was far from high-minded. "I apologize if stating my opinion was out of order. Also, is this escorting a warrant for arrest or simply guiding him home?" This was an important detail that hinged on how Kenshin would approach the beginning of this mission.
[･･･] Red and gold eyes caught the clenched jaw, concern colouring the gaze. "The laws of Konoha are their own issue. We have too many of our own to risk... overreaching." The Hizara stood, all tanned skin and sharp lines in his black attire. "And best not to compare Leaf to Giman. I've actually been approached by them - sounds like they are getting their feet back firmly on the ground. But forcing our ways on others... no, people resent force. They must choose it. Ah," Inka bowed his head with a soft smirk. "Politics... My mother taught me far too well." He added in a hushed tone. He walked towards Kenshin, eyes filled with the type and shape of concern only a father could muster. "I appreciate the bluntness, Kenshin. It'll stop me from being lost in the political mumbo-jumbo speak I so often have to fall into. It'll help keep my gaze... steady." He nodded, as if accepting his own words, face turning serious. "Guide the Konoha Genin safely home. For that is what he is. For now." Inka looked as if he was about to say something else, but turned and sat back down at his desk. "I will send a messenger to you and your team once the letter is ready. I would advise taking this time to prepare. Stock up, familiarise yourself with Ichiryu." Inka's smirk flickered to life once more. "Maybe give him a small smile, just to ease any tension if there is any."
Again the confidence fell away to emotion; concern. "Stay safe, Kenshin. I could be sending you and your team to their deaths. Don't let it be so." The Godaime blinks. "Oh. Krisella has the headbands. Has your seal been upgraded from Grade 0?"

Kenshin sometimes found the words of the Mizukage to be confusing. This was never an issue of significant importance though as he always waited until he was given an order. He listened to him closely as always, like the faithful servant at his post that he was. Kenshin would respond with the Mizukage's closing statements. "I will not fail you, Lord Godaime. I also need an upgrade on my seal." These words were straight and to the point. When silence befell the room Kenshin looked down at the floor for a moment before speaking. "If you could, please keep my past a secret. No one...can know." Kenshin's hard voice turned soft with shame for a moment as he spoke. "I could not bring myself to live with my father's family so I have been making an honest wage to live alone. So far you and my grandparents are the only people who know." With that said, he hoped he could put his past to rest and bury it forever while following the path of righteousness. Even though Kenshin has never broken the law in his life he has somehow always felt responsible for the sins of his parents and his birth.Now that may very well be behind him, although fate may have the final word.
"Say, Taylor. what could you tell me about what happened about that incident that the Hidden Leaf didn't help you with, maybe that I could help fix that trust." He wanted to know more about the problems between the Leaf and the Mist village and asked Taylor about it.

As he waited, he heard Kenshin's words, and they felt like a cold blade through his ribs. Oh Kenshin... Again Inka motioned for Kenshin to step close, his eyes dark. "You truly are me, not too long ago. Kenshin Kōsei." He began, motioning for Kenshin to offer the place of his seal to Inka so it may be upgraded. "I ran from my past for so long. Ran into a darkness too thick to breathe." He paused, looking up at and into the loyal man's eyes. "Time teaches. Just know I will always be willing to listen. Lessons can be too harsh, at times. You have my word that you have my complete discretion."

Kenshin agreed and moved around the desk. He pulled up his right sleeve to reveal the seal on his forearm as it extended towards the Godaime. It was shaped as the iconic four raindrop symbol of the Hidden Mist, displaying his pride of being a part of the village. It was now bare for the Mizukage to upgrade it. He heard his kind words and nodded respectfully. "I appreciate that, sir. You are a truly great leader." He was grateful that he had a discrete leader who would keep his shameful past under wraps. However, the officer of the law's heart did not soften even in this moment, not one bit. The neural connections required to feel that kind of connection with another person just were not formed for him in his first years of life. Perhaps it was just too late for him, he was forsaken to a life as either a heartless criminal or a stoic lawman. "Is there anything else, my Lord? When I return from this mission I hope you can give me some introductory police work." Now that would be quite the fascinating prospect indeed.
[･･･] Inka gave another laugh - a sharp bark of amusement and a small shake of his head. "Easy now - this seat still holds Jack's arse impression, not mine. I haven't been Kage long enough to earn praise like that." He raised his right hand over the fuuin symbol on Kenshin's forearm, the Hizara's own glowing gently as it was activated, lighting up the underside of his wrist. It only took a brief moment, and Inka patted the Genin's upper arm as a sign he was done, and in support of the tightly-wound male. "I'll send you to find your teammates, actually. And I'll speak to Ichiryu Senju to let him know what is going on. Be ready to leave first thing in the morning. I've delayed the poor boy enough as it is." Inka turned his gaze back to the desk, tongue give a single, sharp click in his mouth before recognisition lit up his features. He reached for a pile and uncovered the file he was looking for almost immediately.
"Ah! So... you'll need to locate, ah, Taylor Aburame is speaking with Ichiryu - she is one. The others are Rayne Heloise, and Katsurou Yamanaka. You are known as Squad Zero." He looked up from the mission brief and handed it to Kenshin. The paper was already signed by the Kage, his seal stamped right next to the scrawl. "Collect the letters from me before you leave in the morning. That piece of paper keep on you to prove the reason why you are visiting Konoha - the Gate Keeper of Kirigakure's own gate will take note of it as well - record keeping purposes. Don't lose it." He neatened up the slightly distorted pile after handing over the paper to Kenshin, still speaking. "You're report will determine if you stay on Squad Zero." Gold eyes flecked with red peered up at the newly-appointed Squad Leader, amusement and concern in equal measure in their depths. "Which may not be as bad for you as others may think it is." A silence fell, and Inka's gaze returned to his papers, taking up the pen to continue his not to the Hokage. It was deliberate lull, allowing Kenshin to either speak up, or take his leave.

"Truth be told that was slightly before I joined our shinobi forces. All I know is they were suppose to come to our aI'd and didn't show up resulting in higher casulties than needed. I'm not sure exactly what could be done to fix that. Blood was spilled. But again, I don't have anywhere near full details. Sorry. " Taylor remarked.

Severin made his way to the Mizukage's office, he didn't think he'd ever be here to receive his headband. For so long, it seemed like he would never become a shinobi; all of the obstacles in his life stacking against him and his dream. ut here he was, Severin Raigyo was finally an official ninja of the Village Hidden in the Mist. He arrived to the door, which was closed, and from inside he could hear voices. He assumed that the new Mizukage was busy inside, so he raised his hand and gave a simple few knocks before leaning against the wall beside the door. He would await a summons inside before entering, he had no clue who or what was in there. The man closed his ice blue eyes, resting them for a moment. the past week had been exhausting; he had hardly rested in anticipation for finally graduating the academy.

Taylor cocked her head[ at that. " what is your prediction then? Peace is much preferred but I'm curious. " She said, Just following their conversation. "This could become a conflict of interest if there is to be friction between our villages. "
"Realistically, there is a lot of tension ever since I got here. So I have abetter chance ending up dead than being peace between the villages, realistically. the look I recieved from some of the citizens were unpleasent; so much so I can feel their distaste behind me as I walk. That bad for a few but there were pleasentries so there is some hope." He explained how realistically the chances of peace between the two villages to Taylor and how the grudge against the leaf is great though with some extent.
Kenshin appreciated Inka's modesty greatly, it was in short supply these days, especially from a great kage. This further established his respect for his leader in his mind. He listened to further orders and nodded before putting his arm over his heart and bowing in a salute. "It will be done, Lord Mizukage, thank you for your grace." With that Kenshin was dismissed and stomped out of the room. He then made a nodding gesture of recognition towards the two other Genin outside of the office room. "Hello Taylor Aburame, I'm Kenshin Kosei and the Mizukage has ordered me to lead you in a squad. We need to find the other squad members, we're going now. Try to keep up in formation." The squad leader's words were very concise and direct as he continued walking. He would not tolerate any laziness in his squad. He looked towards the secretary as he walked with the expectation of Taylor to follow him. "May I have my headband?" Kenshin asked the secretary from the front of the heavy desk.
___ Krisella did not look up from her desk as Kenshin approached, having heard his request earlier and gone through the papers to confirm all the correct boxes were checked. With the hand not being used for writing, Krisella reached forward and lifted a folder up off her desk, revealing a neatly folded headband beneath. "Paperwork checks out. Good luck, Kenshin. Very unlike Lord Inka to appoint a new graduate to lead a team." She added quietly, her eyes as sharp and coloured as quartz. "Guess those notes from the Academy reached him loud and clear." With that, she quickly stamped the form she was writing on and placed it onto a pile by the left most edge of her desk, the side closest to the Kage's office door.
