"Wh-
No, this was perfect. Henrietta could get into another battle immediately. She quickly released Darumi.
"Fire Punch."
Darumi gained ground simply by the releasing throw, his flame alight like his eyebrows. Thrust into a battle? Perfect, now he could prove himself, prove that he was a good battler.
Fist cocked and fired as he closed the rest of the distance on foot, aimed for Timburr's face.

The opponent was coming. "Hit!" had been yelled by Robby at the time that Darumi's ball was being thrown, as if he didn't care that the opponent wasn't out yet.
But how did he hit? Timburr didn't know exactly. But there was something possible. As the Darumi came in to swing, he stepped forward, wood held on the right side. His head moved to the right as he moved, trying to evade the fire punch that came, to make it miss just barely. His foot would move, coming down to try stepping on Darumi's front foot, and the wood would come up, aiming to strike the fighting-fire in the stomach, aiming to take him off balance and cause a stumble long enough for a strike as his foot moved off, hit the ground, and he swung the final blow of chip away, aiming to smash the darumaka's ribs.

"Bite!"
Darumi's left hand burst into flames as the foot came down on his own. His body jerked forward, attempting to trip when his hand met the wood that came for his stomach. He pushed, grinding his foot against ground and Timburr's foot. All he needed was a way to loosen it.
And the wood provided leverage for that, permitting Darumi to lean forward and attempt to bite into Timburr's closer swinging arm, teeth lined with fire.

The fire punch caught the piece of wood, and Ronald was, unfortunately, forced to let go. "Face!" Robby called. As the opponent came in, leaning forward for a bite, the timburr swung its left hand up, wake-up slap aiming to push the darumi's face aside, moving its mouth away as timburr moved.
His foot moved, sliding off of Darumi's for one moment to gain leverage as his other foot moved, coming back behind Darumi's, aiming to get between his legs as timburr began to turn, gaining what momentum and leverage he could as his leg moved to low kick the back of darumi's knee and force him to fall on his a**.

"Flip!"
Darumi's head turned as the slap came, his teeth coming around the hand to clamp down at the wrist. Timburr's switch in positioning, or rather, his step would permit Darumi to twist his own body into adequate positioning.
From there he'd be able to pull and try and flip Timburr over to slam into the ground.

Left fist up, his foot wasn't moving for the kick with the new information, his first hit had been invalidated. There was no need to step forward. Instead, both legs planted firm as they could, and a pound struck out, left fist aiming to strike at Darumi in the back, between where his shoulder blades would be if he were human. Rather, it would strike at the back muscles that allowed breath, and try to force the air, and his hand, out.
If it hit, he'd use what leverage he could to try lifting Darumi, body moving with a twist to launch him with a rock throw. Towards what, he hoped, was a rock. Or a cement wall. Whatever they called those things.

The pound hit and Darumi released Timburr as he was lifted up. Thrown, he'd flip upside down in mid air, releasing an Incinerate at the Timburr to torch him.
A brief wide blast at point blank would let him cut off quickly. Twisting around with the same momentum, he'd see the wall.
No time left, his hands were still ignited. He had to act quickly. He internalized the flame of his hand, bringing it back into him and centering the power.
Then he released it, the punch with the flames exploding as he punched out. The explosive force made up for all of the damage he lacked.
Rock Smash - a new move.
Henrietta would call it Explosion Punch.
Now inside of the building, Darumi twisted around to face his opponent, hands and teeth light.
Oh, it was on.

It was off, launched, but the lips of the opponent moved, opening. No time to move. No dodge. Nothing. It was coming. His eyes shut, his breath was held. All was nothing. He felt himself preparing, meditating.... Biding. The flames hit, licking at him, horrible heat....
And they were gone, the flames. His hand was already gripping the nearby stick, his body moved quickly as the rock smash struck the wall, almost inhumanly fast. Well, inpokemonly fast. He was there, next to Darumi in an instant, the wood came up, aiming flawlessly, directly at the other pokemon's midsection.
Bide was unleashed.

There was no time for anything else. One could not outspeed it to strike first, hell, he didn't have any proper set up for that. But he could meet the attack head on. Haphazardly, but enough.
His fist came, hitting the stick. Not full force, but it was enough. He couldn't overpower it.
But he could destroy it.
The flames exploded, powering his hand in the Rock Smash to destroy the object, effectively mitigating the damage it did it his knuckles, and the damage it would do as it grazed his stomach.
Half the damage.
Timburr was moving, he had no footing, but now Darumi did.
Twisting his body, his other fist came, to Fire Punch Timburr in the center of his gravity, where he had the least ability to dodge.

The wood was gone. It was all slow motion to him. Timburr felt himself moving, the fire punch struck out, aiming to crumple him, to break him. To end it.
His hand moved, the wood was gone, it wasn't going to stop in time to counter, though.
His other hand moved, pound struck up, aiming to push the fire punch up, and past him, as his head moved to make room for it to pass him by. His other hand would have stopped by now, it was moving, an elbow from Chip Away, aiming for the solar plexus of Darumi. Aiming to strike the pokemon in the first point. His arm would move, lifting, fist aiming to hit between Darumi's eyes. And hopefully end it.
Of course, this was all only possible if that fire punch was pushed past him.

They were on their last legs. Darumi and Timburr. Everything was blink quick, split second actions.
But Darumi had the advantage, he had footing, he had leverage. A shift with his foot, backwards and his entire body follow suit, allowing him to draw his hand back that single inch to catch the pound.
His other hand rose as he recovered it, catching the elbow and bracing against it, catching and blocking each attack in turn.
And now it was over. His mouth, which was already open due to heavy breathing, simply released a point blank Incinerate as he pulled down, his weight likely pulling Timburr down with his, fingers curling to force the elbow down as well, to offset Timburr's body so he couldn't counter with a kick.

Well. s**t. His body moved. It was screwed. No dodged. Nothing. Walt lifted his leg, aiming for the remains of the wall, kick striking one of them in as powerful of a rock throw as he could manage.
It flew towards the opponent, aiming for its lower body as it fell back, mouth open to incinerate, dragging him with it. In other words, as Darumi fell, he fell towards a chunk of wall being kicked at him as hard as possible in a rock throw.
The incinerate would end the timburr there, and he would faint. But there was the hope for that one last shot.

[Quit giving me that look, or I’ll melt your hide….I know where we are.]
Wukong glanced side to side, attempting to find his bearings and avoiding Liuye’s accusing glare. All of these streets look the same. If he had been able to read, he’d know the sign above him said Mode Street. [Either way, we still haven’t found Salem. And even if we do…]
He stopped shaking his head, looking straight ahead to the distance. [What happens next? We don’t have the right to tell her what to do. If Salem wants to go, she should be able to leave.] Steam flared from his nostrils as he puffed up his chest. [I joined this team by my own will. If I was her, I wouldn’t stand to be kept against it.]
Liuye Dao shook his head. How dishonorable. A real warrior sticks by their leader no matter what. Whatever reason Salieri had for thinking what she did about Salem, it would be cleared up eventually. He was sure of it.
Wukong scratched his head. […I think it’s a left…I’m 90% sure it’s a left we take next…unless it’s a right…]
****
Salieri was waiting for her other two pokemon in the park. She sat on the fountain by herself: the park was uncharacteristically empty, thanks to Scizor clearing it out earlier.
The Battle Girl was in a lotus position, glaring to the empty hills in the distance. Salem was okay, and that was what was important. But she still wasn’t talking to Sal. And now, Chen Zhen wasn’t either. Did they Synchronize as well? She shook her head.
Chen Zhen, I thought you’d see it my way…it was a mistake…
She glanced at the pokeballs on her belt. The Battle Girl couldn’t bring herself to try talking to Salem again so soon. But she needed to know how the Espeon felt, even if it meant Synchronizing again. If she was going to be a leader, she needed to understand her people.
Sal gulped, then grabbed a pokeball off of her belt. “I might as well try it…”
She would have to conquer her aversions to certain pokemon eventually, that she was sure of. It was one thing not to fear them. It was another to coexist with them. She needed to start somewhere.
With a deep breath, she released the Frillish she captured the night before, tensing her muscles as he materialized in front of her. The Frillish took in his surroundings before looking back at the anxious Salieri.
“You put me in an awkward position. I didn’t want to capture you, but I had no choice-“ [I daresay, you vile, amber eyed flesh sack, where is my monocle? Do you still have your grimy paws on it?] The Frillish gestured to his right eye with one of his tentacle arms. Salieri glared at him “Don’t interrupt me. And slow down, I can’t understand you anyway-“ [The monocle, woman! My classy appearance is at stake! I shall intimidate you now! Gaze upon my dance of despair!]
His eyes began to flash red rapidly and he waved around his tentacle arms like noodles, making gurgling sounds with his mouth. “Oooooh-galooo-galooo-gaaaa!”
Salieri rose an eyebrow, taking a step backwards. Maybe he wasn’t actually dangerous. He could have been just crazy. “You want that Scope Lens back? First I want to know why you took my bag…and why you were reading my journal.”
[Your journal! Oh-HO-HO-HO! I knew it was no ordinary hardcover!] The Frillish floated side to side whimsically as he ranted. [Knowledge is power! And knowledge is words! I read what I can when I can, only those who read are classy. Classy people read books! You say that journal was yours, yes? So you write books? How does a source with no class produce literature of a high standing? You intrigue me, flesh sack. Become my scribe! You will write words and I will read them, transcending my physical form to become knowledge itself! I will reshape the alphabet in my image, and then this WORLD SHALL BE MINE!]
As soon as the Frillish began what sounded like maniacal laughter, Salieri slapped her palm to her face. I really hate ghosts…

The tell-tale sign that Timburr was doing something was the sudden shift in their bodies as the leg moved. Darumi couldn't deflect a kick - he didn't know that one couldn't land. But he could deflect anything aimed at his face.
The hand that held the elbow moved, only a split second as Timburr's foot did. The rock came, the cement, and Darumi's flame covered fist struck it, deflecting it before the duo hit the ground.
Off in the distance Henrietta screamed, probably hit by something.
Darumi's legs were up as this happened, to plant into Timburr's stomach as his hand was prepped to catch anything the Timburr tried to throw.
He continued his momentum to flip and throw Timburr away.
Into an oncoming car.

Timburr's hand went out as his elbow was released, pound striking towards the pokemon. His fist was caught, and he was tossed suddenly, towards something.
His mind was gone, fading, fading... Blackness crawled into his vision as a horn honked. Instinct was what must have shot his hand out, pushing, causing the timburr to flip up and over the car, barely safe.
And another caught his legs, slamming him into the roof of the car just before he was returned.
"s**t." Robby said, walking away angrily.
