Quite shocked with his apparent outstanding success, Denbe nods in thanks to the approval of most. From the rest, well, he'd accept lack of critique as well. He smiled graciously and wondered if he had a new found talent, or if he was simply the lucky hare today.

But seeing Kaiu readying to speak as the food came, Denbe decided to stop the servers sooner rather than later, so as not to interrupt the crabs tale, and quietly asked the server if any of the dishes were made with cumin.

No sense taking risks.

The servant stopped, a young woman in her early teens, would blink unexpectantly at the question. "I... I do not know, noble samurai. I can try to find out if any of the chefs can let me bring you some if it would please you."

The target became increasingly blurry at this distance. He could barely see it, the lack of an eye made it even harder to focus on the target. It was a frustrating feeling. Nevertheless, he took a deep breath, and nocked an arrow, and let it go.

Whoa. He hit. He shot a 100' target and he hit the mark. Maybe Bishamon IS blessing him. He would, again, nock an arrow, taking careful aim, and would... let the arrow go!

He was surprised, yet again, that he actually hit the target. Luck is on his side, it seems! He would again, nock an arrow, taking careful aim, and releasing!

@ Kyujutsu Competition:

Seichiro would fire his first shot, pegging the inner white circle with surprising ease! His second shot would land inside the central red circle, earning him enough points to qualify already. His third shot, the most casual, pinged the edge of the target, and Seichiro would walk away with 120 points for the round!

Asahina Kenichi would step up to the next lane, giving a sideways glance towards his fellow Crane competitor. Lifting his bow, he would call 2 raises and go for the inner ring with all three of his shots. {32 vs TN 20; 24 vs TN 20; 22 vs TN 20, 3 hits.}

And all three would land, mimicking his score in the first round with surprising ease. He would smile to the rest of the competitors, this time not acknowledging Zanzen as he would step away.

Yoritomo Hisashi, you're up!

The increase in distance was a bit of a daunting challenge for Hisashi, especially with his barely passing (albeit respectable enough) score the round before. He was a confident enough shot, but he had to stay calm so as not to let the pressure get to him.

He would make his approach, nock the arrow, aim, and fire after a short bout of controlled breathing and clearing of the mind.

Hisashi's first arrow barely hit the inner white ring - still a worth while score, but a bit close for comfort. Two more shots were lined up for him, so he decided to once again be careful with them. He focused and fired, attempting to become one with the bow and one with the arrow.

Hisashi would let loose his breath in a slight "hoo..." noise. His patience had paid off, and he would make it to the next round. He would nock his final arrow and go for one final shot, giving it his all the focus and careful approach of the other two, even though it wasn't necessary. Hisashi strove for a high level of professionalism in his courtly duties, and believed that his bow required the same amount of respect.

Once his mind was cleared and his body ready, he would let fly the arrow towards the target.

Hisashi would release his breath again, hitting the outer ring. Again, not the best shot, but at least it struck the target. A slight improvement on his previous score, and for that he was pleased.

He would return from the firing range and continue to control his breathing - he could relax for now, but he would need to keep in the moment for the next round.
