Personality
Amarantha used to be a Guard. She was joyful and sociable, and good at what she did, finding pride in keeping the Flock safe. Eventually, she found herself face to face with a purewalker -- and although the fight was won in the end, it look a little piece of her with it -- literally. With half a wing torn off, she was left devastated and lost. Not being able to fly anymore hurt, but she knew it wouldn't affect her abilities -- plenty of the Flock didn't fly either -- but once she was healed and through physical therapy enough to begin training again for Guard duty, she found herself flinching away from any sort of combat and heart racing in fear.
Amara became withdrawn and quiet, seeking out quiet and solitude especially in wide open flower fields. She took to meditation to find peace, both with herself and the world around her. She enjoyed watching the plants sway in the breeze, watching the buzzing bees go about their work and the butterflies flit from flower to flower. It came to her almost like a vision, one day -- meditating out in the fields, she saw in her mind's eye herself with the bees, nurturing them and helping them in their work, sharing the fruits of their labor with the Flock and making sure the hives remained happy and healthy. The vision came again that night in her sleep, and followed her every time she closed her eyes until she finally gave in and visited the apiarists to learn more about what they do. Fascinated by the process and enamored with the small little things -- which is to say nothing of the sweet honey they produced -- Amara felt that this was the new place for her. Maybe it wasn't as glamorous as guard duty, but this was where she felt at peace.
