The twins turned and looked up at Monica, realizing what she meant by that. "Y-yeah." Vincent stuttered.
"If he said something like that, I think he would be too." Valkyrie agreed with a smile. The two were no stranger to the loss of loved ones and knew not to pry. They simply looked up at the stars some more in thought.

"So how about we go..." Damien said, turning to who he thought was his mistress. "Oh. You're not who I came in with. Where did she go?" he asked.

Shadow jumped when she heard that familiar voice and slowly turned towards Damien nervously. She didn't say a word, knowing he would recognize her voice, and pointed towards the dance floor instead, where his mistress was trying to politely get away from the drunk prince.

"Well, I'll get back to her in a second. She can handle herself" Damien said. He then looked Shadow up and down. She didn't look half bad. "So, would you care to dance?" he asked. He held a wine glass in hand, but was almost finished with its contents.

Shadow looked around as if she thought he was talking to someone else, then when she realized he was talking to her, she gave him a nod 'yes'. She knew better then to be verbal since he could recognize her by her voice.

Damien held out a white gloved hand and took her hand in his. He then led her to where everyone was dancing and began leading her around. "So, where are you from?" he asked.

Shadow felt weird as he took her hand and led her around. She swallowed hard and tried to mask her voice with a thick low accent. "A dark and cold place of no consequence." She replied softly. Most who heard that would assume she was from a small country to the north of the other continent that mostly consisted of a hellish winter climate.

Monica looked at the twins with a grateful look in her eyes that they hadn't asked. She looked up at the skies as though the stars held more meaning now than they ever did before. She ruffled both of their hair and said, "Sleep early, you two"

"Ah, I see. Well, I suppose you already know who I am, so I probably don't need to introduce myself" Damien said as he lead Shadow around in a dance. "What's your name?" he asked.

"Call me Rose." She replied in the same voice. "It's quite an honor." She told him, hoping it would get him on a topic of self glorification so that she wouldn't have to talk.
"Yes ma'am." They told her, smiling at her, hoping she would feel better. They walked back to the bed and began to crawl in it together.

Monica turned off the lights in the room and closed the door, heading for her own. She gave a small sigh. The day had been long indeed.

"Thank you." She said, slipping her accent a little, but quickly fixing the error. "You're a good dancer too. It's not every day that I have the privilege to dance with someone of your prestige." She replied with a smile.
