The very first thing that Inori noticed when she started to awaken was the smell of coffee. Normally she would be worried but without hesitation she brushed the book off her head, slowly lifting her head to take a quick sip. The moment it touched her tongue she could taste the pumpkin and cinnamin in it. Smiling she sat up straight and brushed her hair back taking another swallow of the cup of coffee. She would really have to thank that attendant later on. It wasnt unusual for her to fall asleep in the academy building, in fact she spent more nights sleeping here then she did in her own bed.
Pulling a small brush from her pocket she quickly tamed her wild red hair and it easily fell into place. Tucking her brush back into her pocket she looked around the room absently while sipping the brown nectar of the gods. Much to her surprise she noticed Rin had fallen asleep too though in a much more, ladylike state than her own. Pushing her seat back she rose to her feet and very quietly made her way across the room and knelt on the other side of the desk outside of punching distance.
Waving her hand over the cup of coffee she started wafting some of the smell over to her trying to wake her as gently as she could, though she quickly grew tired of doing so and simply poked her in the head softly a few times,"Hey, its morning Rin, up and at em. We got a long day ahead of us." Rising back to her feet she went into the main room to see both Hatsu and Kisuke inside. Smiling softly she sipped her coffee and nodded,"Good morning you two."

Keisuke peaked in the room that his two teammates had wondered into. He smiled as he saw his teammate Rin napping much like Iori. Speaking of, she began to wake up. She fixed her own appearance before waking Rin up. The monk walked back out to the main room and had started doing stretches when the red-haired kunoichi greeted him and Hatsu. "Hey. Are we doing more missions today?" His legs slid into a triangle position and he leaned down to grasp one of his ankles, breathing steadily.

Rin felt the gentle pokes of her team mate while she began waking up. She had fallen asleep she was definitely a lot more tired than she had let herself believe. The smell of pumpking and cinnamon enchanted her, she did love cinnamon. Soon enough she'd register it was Inori poking her gently to make sure she woke. "Oh my...we slept a while"shed comment yawning and stretching lightly, her hair only messy on the side she had fallen asleep in, she hadn't moved in the entire night, she had stayed in the same position all night and it had done its job at making her a little uncomfortable and sore in the arms. She moved her hand out of the book and closed it before standing. "Good morning Inori-san"Shed say while fixing herself up, mostly her hair, she didn't have the luxury of having cinnamon pumpkin coffee with her so she would make due with buying a small snack later. Following Inori to the main room shed wave hello to Hatsu and Kisuke."Good morning Hatsu-san, Kisuke-san. And I do believe we have a few more missions so I'm assuming that's a yes." Rin would comment to Kisuke while covering her mouth with her jacket as she yawned.

"Good morning everyone." Hatsu would push herself off the wall with her shoulder blade, crossing her arms and looking at everyone. Inori had a cup of coffee in hand, and Keisuke looked like she was stretching for the day. Hatsu would then remove from her tool bag some folded up papers and a kunai. Removing from the papers a photo, she'd pin the corner of the photo to the wall, the kunai easily piercing through the picture and into the wall. On the photo, an orange sizable cat would be shown, nuzzling in its owner's lap. "This is the cat we were tasked to find. Although large, it's supposed to be nimble, so stay on guard around it. We are not to injure it, but I am authorizing the use of non-harmful ninjutsu. It was last seen in the residential district, before it ran off into an alley. Take a good look at the photo, ask any questions on the way over there." Hatsu would then turn tail, walking off towards the residential district, leaving behind her kunai pinning the picture to the wall.

When Hatsu whipped out the cat picture, the monk's attention was immediately earned. He inched closer to get a better look and by the end of her speech, he was right at the picture. A part of him wanted to catch the cat and keep it. Regrettably, no one else in the village would support such a decision- not his team, his parents, or the villager that needed his/her cat found. He thought of a scenario where could have such a pet as he followed Hatsu.

Rin nodded at Hatsus good morning. Once she was done she would take a good long look at the picture, watching her squad leader leave the area she would approach the photograph of the rather large but adorable felin. Grabbing the kunai and photo she would keep both on her person for safe keeping. "Might as well not leave the picture, there might be more than one orange cat..." she would mumble to herself while following her leader.

xxxxxNathaniel untied his ninja head band and pocketed it. He intended to practice some high-end techniques and didn't want to risk drenching or burning his head band. He walked past the squad leaving and entered a small room that had some defenses against ninjutsu. He searched and scanned the raiton technique scrolls and found a few he liked quite a bit.
He walked to the center of the room and formed his first hand sign. He channeled the chakra in his body to gather the energy around his body. He condensed the air around him and focused it into a thick barrier. It was lightning chakra but had a cloud-like feel to it. It felt like natural, storm-summoned lightning and floated in front of him protectively. The barrier would work effectively as a shield.

He decided to test out an explosive technique, but first he'd need a clone. He'd made maruton versions of himself before without a problem. This time he needed ones charged with his own chakra. He formed the first hand sign and channeled his chakra. He formed the second one with an image of himself in mind. The last sign released his chakra and created an identical version of Nathaniel. If the clone threw a punch, it would release some of its own electrical energy.
He took a couple steps back and had the clone copy him until they were on opposite sides of the room. He was used to getting shocked since it was a natural side effect of practicing raiton techniques. Still, the jutsu he was preparing would increase the amount of pain caused by the clone's energy. He formed the five necessary hand signs and felt potential energy make his hair rise. In a blink of an eye, his clone exploded with electrical energy.

Defensive raiton techniques were an old favorite of his. He kept that in mind as he formed the next hand sign. This involved more chakra control than most techniques, as he had to focus his chakra into needles. Electricity was the element of potential so focusing it into literal needlepoints was against his own ideas of his nature. Still, he managed to send his chakra over his skin and imagined being a porcupine. The electrical needles vibrated with energy.

Nathaniel withdrew the chakra that was focused in the needles and grabbed a water bottle. He started to drink, deciding to use the half he didn't for some suiton techniques.

Ooc: Toso and Nathaniel are acting on a 3 day difference interval. Thus they can only really be interacted with if you haven't been assigned to one of the squads who are partaking in redemption missions currently.
"Hello again Nathaniel-kun Bloop." A familiar voice. It was the squid boys. He walked with passive steps forward. He seemed to be swishing something in his mouth as he approached while holding a book in one hand. In his mouth was another of the Hojo clan's famous concoctions. He decided it best to attribute a flowery and buttery taste to this one. Maybe a hint of corn or wheat? Pancakes. Buttered pancakes. There we go that's what this new blend tasted like. With a quick inhale and exhale the squid dispersed a goldenrod colored ink on the floor in front of him. He would use this ink to slide stylishly next to Nathaniel. "Training hard I see bloop. Give me a ring if you want to put that training to work" {Slippery Blend: D 1/1 Total Reduction: 6}
Moving forward a few steps Toso would attract the attention of a local watchman. He then proceeded to kindly ask him if he wouldn't mind aiding him in the following technique. Following the principles of Shinobi should be looking out for one another he wholeheartedly agreed. Smiling appreciatively it seemed Toso would unzip his collar. What are pancakes without the taste of blueberries? That was what the next taste would be. The chunin would stand perfectly still unsure of what exactly he'd gotten himself into as now the smile seemed to be one more deviant than friendly. One by one if Nathaniel were interested he'd see this man get bombarded by a navy blue ink. Eventually the man's face was covered in regret. He couldn't move. At all. Or so it seemed. Pleased with the results Toso brought his hand upwards as the fluid dispersed and vanished. The man however, remained bluer than a blueberry. { Enfeebling Blend C 1/1 Total Reductions: 7 }
The following Blend the squid began to concoct he was having trouble attributing a taste to. Actually no, there it was. It was certainly not an enjoyable taste in the slightest as Toso tried desperately not to heave it. It was like he had a mouth full of blood, it tasted like pennies. It was absolutely disgusting. He'd have to look up other things that had similar colors he could attribute that tasted better. He wondered fully if food that tasted good would be grey at all. He couldn't go with tasteless that was already reserved for another blend. He spat the small clump of what could essentially be classified malleable iron into his hands.
To test it's properties Toso began to stretch and play with it like a child. An extremely violent child. First he used his chakra to mold it into a spear. The he molded it into a shield. Shortly after he molded it into a shield. Then he decided to spread it out to create a wide formed wall. He was having fun. In fact if Nathaniel were watching it would almost appear sadistic as he blooped in laughter at the innumerable maiming devices he was creating. Eventually however, the ink would decay and vanish. Somewhat saddened perhaps he could implement this blend on a much grander scale in the future. [ Iron Blend 2/2 Total Reductions 8 ]
Furthering the terror inducing he seemed to be producing was the proposal that the instructor who aided him earlier could provide for him a clone. A clone by the instructors standards was far better than himself in every way shape and form. The instructor would form the necessary hand signs and sigh in relief he was being spared what horror he was about to subject it to. Honestly it would have probably been significantly wiser of him to use a clone in the first place. Still the mistake he would have made was that the clone he produced was a shadow clone and he was about to see why.
Toso could make a taste out of this following blend thank goodness. A heavy scent of lime and citrus filled his mouth and the room partially. The blue chunin held his arms crossed curious at what this squid was going to produce next. Then something awful happened. Toso would let loose his concocted blend and the clone would be stained lime green. The ink was bubbling oddly for a moment which left the clone curious. Then the clone began to scream as the blend of ink began to bubble. Traces of the clones flesh began to seethe off his face in agony as the skin was stripped from it's very being. Toso just remained with a look of satisfaction that everything seemed to be in working order. When finally reaching it's pinnacle the clone poofed away and the chunin that produced it retaining it's memories suddenly went into a state of shock and awe as he began feeling his face to make sure it was all there. Almost completely and mentally drained Toso would ask in a friendly manner if he could assist him again. It was his duty to be a teacher...so despite his hesitance he agreed. This time he'd create another clone. A simple one. Just slightly more complex than the average bunshin. He then sat down and turned away. The Chunin had subjected himself to enough he believed. Toso in the meantime was busy moving his mouth up and down.
This blend was rubbery. But flavorless. It bore similarities to the taffy blend in a sense. In addition so swishing he was surprised he actually had to chew slightly as well. When all that was taken care off Toso's feet would lift off the ground slightly as what seemed to be a snake like rope of ink shot out from his mouth. The ink then coiled as if it were sentient around the clone which looked panicked. Then without a moment's hesitation squeezed inward with eyeball popping pressure. After the clone would poof and the ink would fall limply like wet rope on the ground before vanishing itself. Toso was incredibly pleased it seemed as he couldn't stop smiling. Meanwhile the Chunin instructor was just glad it was all over. [ Constricting Blend 2/2 Total Reductions 8]
Toso would then sit down as if nothing was wrong. He'd flip the pages of his little book until finding one that proved promising. The Hojo ability to emit ink through their pores. It was no easy task that was for certain. It was up there with several of the other more difficult methods. Heck methods were some of the most difficult things to learn in all do honesty. They were so unique in their ways one couldn't simply apply the benifits of the institutions where they're learned. Toso would open his palm and stare at it discriminately.
First he decided to start out simple. A transfer of sorts to some degree. He would begin to puff up his cheeks in the usual hamster like manner and instead of ejecting it from his mouth he decided to do something which seemed like swallowing. He shuddered briefly but then closed his eyes as if concentrating on his stomach and begging it to do something. He'd then look at his hands again to see tiny flecks of black surfacing. It wasn't much but it was progress.
Following up on this minor success the squid would inhale deeply once more. This time he looked at his forearm. Essentially he was trying to see if he could apply this technique to more than just ones hands as it is most commonly used for. Actually more or less he just wanted to know if it was possible for he himself to do so. The ink formed and filled his cheeks and again he begrudgingly swallowed. Without focusing on the taste of the ink they all tasted salty. He concentrated on his stomach once more and then his forearm. Black specks also began to form.
With both of these aspects mastered and understood it was time to get more advanced. Closing his eyes Toso would not pool any ink within his mouth. At least not to a grand scale. He would then concentrate in an attempt of an immediate transference from his mouth to pours. This manifested itself by leaking ink through his cheeks. With eyes squinted at maximum overdrive the squid calmed down as the leakage ended. He was getting closer to the grand finale.
Now calmed and mind centered he concentrated instead on his cheeks rather than stomach. The chakra then began to disperse inside his mouth and as if traveling intravenously began manifesting on his palms and leaving his cheeks. Now he opened his eyes to look at his hand. They were positively glimmering with ink. He then applied this method multiple time vacuuming the ink in and out of his pores. Coating his entire body with it until he appeared to be a black phantom. Finally withdrawing the ink back into his body. He blooped in success. Looking oncemore in Nathaniel's direction to give him a friendly wave. [ Inking Method: Sticky Fingers 5/5 Total Reduction 5 ]

xxxxx"Hey there,"Nathaniel lifted his face quickly in acknowledgement of Toso's greeting, then he'd intended to go right back to his training. However Toso's mouth caught his attention- or rather, the liquid inside. All of a sudden the squid was shooting out ink and sliding on it to be right at his side. He was effectively speechless at the sight. He just nodded at Toso and tried to split his focus between his hand signs and the squid's new conversation with the trainer. The medic managed to concentrate his chakra into his right hand.
He held his hand outward and used his free one to pour the rest of the water bottle over it. The water barely touched his glove before it was channeled outward in a spherical motion. The pattern that the water spread out in was a testament to his chakra control. Once the sphere was successfully formed, he poked the outside of it with his free hand. Surprisingly solid for water.

He looked up to see Toso painting the poor man in blue. Oi. He said nothing, knowing it was better not to question the squid lest he wanted to end up even more confused. Then he got inspired by the sight, and grinned to himself. He released the water in front of him and watched it fall to the floor, resting on the straw floor. He formed a hand sign and neutralized his chakra flow before focusing it to his abdomen.
He channeled the water from the floor with a second hand sign. The water moved collectively before he created the final sign. The water stayed in one puddle but eight tendrils began to rise. He watched as the tendrils soon thickened with the water. They rose fairly high and moved independently of each other, though they were capable of moving in sync.
His head shot up at the sound of Toso's laughter. Nathaniel's expression immediately scrunched up and he watched for a spell binding minute. There was something so unexplainable about the squid ninja. He shook his head to regain his own focus. He released the former water jutsu, still amused at the resemblance of the tentacles. He created a new hand sign. The puddle became animated once more.
He pointedly ignored the corrosive clone and forced the water to take form. A chain slowly rose from the puddle. It's design looked a little... drippy. He fed the technique more chakra and found that that balanced out with the water. He moved the element around until it made a proper chain shape. Then he brought it towards himself and captured his own ankles. He stepped back and found much resistance. He wasn't a physical fighter, so this technique was as effective as one could hope. He released the jutsu and looked at Toso.

"If you keep terrorizing that poor trainer, I'm going to have to find a medical technique to save his mind." The comment wasn't friendly but his disposition was, which would make his teasing obvious. He then watched as Toso covered himself in black ink by swallowing it. "I didn't know you could do that," he mused as he stepped a bit closer to the squid. He raised a brow at the friendly wave he received and pouted as the ink returned to the inside of the squid. "Rude- I wanted to touch that new concoction."

"I suppose that's an invitation to terrorize you then Nathaniel-kun? Bloop." Witty remark met witty remark in tandem. Toso spoke playfully almost comparable to cat if one could speak. Although his bubble like pronunciation maybe attributed it more towards a catfish. When Nathaniel commented on touching the man's inky persona Toso responded in an almost flirtatious manner. "Aren't we rushing things Nathaniel-kun. If I allowed that we may be holding hands next." Of course the inlet joke there was that Toso would probably have no qualms with the boy touching his person. After all, his kind he liked to think were primarily very touch oriented. Almost excessively so. Nowhere was safe.
Toso would then raise his arm limply. "Well now. The recent spars I've partaken in have all ended rather poorly for me. Bloop. If I'm to set a good example I suppose it would be beneficial to have one win under my belt bloop. That is assuming you're still curious about touching me that is. Bloop." Toso would then slide past Nathaniel once more as he shut the door to the room behind them. "So bloop. Feeling confident enough to take your squad leader down a notch after all his bossing you around these past three days bloop?' Toso smiled. Again it would difficult to discern. Was it playful...taunting...serious...or actually sadistic. The man's empty grey eyes almost comparable to a Hyuuga's shone through the intimidating glare of his glasses.

xxxxxHe had to laugh at Toso's playful retorts. It wasn't often he found someone who would go along with his teasing or his attitude in general. Though he'd be lying if he said he wasn't wondering if Toso held hands or held tentacles. When his arms were long and elastic it always felt a few shades off from human, but not necessarily in a bad way.
"I have to say that I am," he responded to the spar request honestly. He raised his hands in an exasperated way "And I've got zero wins under my belt too, if you're wondering..." He was sure his leader knew he'd never sparred before and that was the cause. He watched as Toso closed the door and taunted him with a haunting smile. "Oh yeah, those were a rough few days..." Downing the last of her delicious coffee she headed out after the others. If Hatsu was authorizing ninjutsu then genjutsu was free game as well which would mean that this would be a chance for her to put her skill to the test.

"Bloop. My so considerate." A murky grey began to cover Toso as Nathaniel agreed to a fine stretch of their abilities. "The question is. How should I approach this. Bloop." He spoke almost curiously before the entirety of his body sported a metallic sheen and glinted as if pure steel. It was almost as if he was a steel release user by the look of it. His musculature became more prominent as he removed his coat to reveal an unexpected rather 'ripped' physique under the cross meshed thermal shirt he was wearing. Maybe it would come as surprise that the man who seemed to walk like a penguin and wore a coat nearly 3x his size was actually more than meets the eye. Toso's fingers moved in and out almost creepishly as if he was readying something. [1/6]
Sill before hand this stratagem would require a little more preparation. Small droplets of ink began to form on Toso's fingertips but they retracted themselves inward. However, this was entirely different from the sticky fingers method. Yes, he was plotting something but for now he would capitalize on his opponents lack of knowledge in regards to just what he was capable of. Suddenly the man crouched down and then leapt up his arm grasping a rafter flinging himself. Then madness. Toso would be bouncing off the walls wildly as if he were made of rubber zooming across the room using both his legs and his arms. Condensed area's such as these allowed him to let loose. A metallic bouncy ball. Yup that would be the best term for it. The roof, the left wall, the right wall, the roof again he was everywhere and he seemed to be increasing his momentum in each push and pull. [2/6]
His onslaught of the unexpected wouldn't end there however. On his sides if Nathaniel was able to keep up with his rapid indiscriminate bouncing around he'd notice the squid now held two paint brushes. Toso was after all a Bukijustsu user contrary to popular belief of him being a purely bloodline or ninjutsu based. Some even assumed taijutsu but rarely bukijutsu as his choice of weapon was discreet and missing in any real 'threat' factor. Of course in the hands of a hojo well...ink and brushes and like butter and pancakes. Deliciously perfect in harmony and potentially lethal. Only instead of high cholesterol it was their inks. Suddenly from the head of one brush Toso swung horizontally. As a skull sized blob emerged from it heading for Nathaniel's eyes. This would not stop his leaping and bounding. Toso seemed trained to compensate and use techniques while moving from surface to surface. It was exhausting just watching. Needless to say it wouldn't hinder his scheming either. However, Nathaniel wouldn't have to watch much longer if his surprise blinding attack was successful.[3/6]

However, nothing is sentient. 2.The ink will undergo great alteration, causing it to become a deep purple color. This ink is applied to the Hojo clan member or an ally, rather than an opponent. The ink increases the muscle endurance of the person it is applied to by 50%, allowing excelled physical maneuvering. However, because it is composed mainly of chakra, it does not last very long (4 posts). Blending with this ink is required for a Hojo to be affected by their own adhesives. (Multiplies existing physical modifiers by [1.5] Strength/Agility/Speed/Fortitude)- Further Applications Will Only Refresh The Duration. I.e Target has a mildly increased(0.2) to the strength descriptive. Ceremonial Blend increases that descriptive by a slightly descriptive (0.1) half of the mildly descriptive for a total of (0.3) becoming a moderately descriptive. Ikawaratsu has a three post cool down before being used again after a complete stop. Naturally Ikawarustu can overcome ninjutsu it comes into contact with of its current rank or lower. xxxxxNathaniel had expected some secret attack, maybe something stupid like pocket sand. Instead, he got something out of a science fiction comic. The metallic quality Toso took on piqued his curiosity, since it was something he would never attribute to the Hojo clan. He did glance away when Toso took off his coat- out of politeness and not embarrassment, of course. By the time the squid was, literally, bouncing off the walls, the medic was half-way convinced that this fight was simply a hallucination. He fought the urge to kai himself in case of genjutsu. He'd been watching the entire thing as if from a back seat, so he was sure he'd have caught hand signs.
As he rubbed his left eye, Toso flew at him with brushes and ink. He didn't really have time to flinch as the blackness covered his face. His squeaked as he flew backwards defensively, both due to the attack and to avoid colliding with the flying squid man. He rolled to the side as he wiped it off of his face, opening one eye to see but quickly noticing his other wasn't registering light. "Y'know, two can play at that game," he warned as his thoughts wandered to a technique that could make him into a flash of lightning. Instead, he made a single hand sign as he warily backed himself up into a corner. He had to watch even harder now to avoid getting struck by the ping pong ball named Toso. [1]
The water molecules in the air became visible as they formed into senbon. Hundreds of them formed in the room, all pointing away from Nathaniel. He held them stationary for only a few seconds- a handful of them likely getting smashed by the fast squid. Then he released them, watching as they flew in every direction. [2]
Following a self-issued theme, he formed another hand sign and charged himself with electrical energy, focusing on pinpoints all over his body until he took on the appearance of a porcupine, becoming covered in electric needles. "Hope you aren't afraid of these." His taunt was in clear reference to both the water needle technique and the electric one, though he genuinely didn't want to fight on a psychological level with the man. Toso seemed to be full of secrets (where did he find the time to work out, and what was with the paint brushes?) and it was self-preservation if nothing else that made him wary of getting on his bad side."Do you always move this fast on the first date?" His flicked his head to the side as some water splashed on his face; damn water techniques always made a mess when they were struck or dispersing. [3]

The water will then rise into the air, where it will take the form of long senbon needles. The senbon can be held stationary in the air for as long as the user sees fit, but after they have been launched, they cannot be stopped- except by outside forces. "With such a prized catch how can I resist bloop?" The voice sounded to be everywhere at once as it spoke. "but I see you enjoy playing hard to get." The needles flew in a straight direction but Toso had already prepared the necessary defenses as he bounced there was a shield of sorts made solely of the bristles of a brush. They emanated chakra, willpower, and spirit. Perhaps Nathaniel was familiar with the term mystic hero. Perhaps not. An assortment of nin said to channel their very spirit through their weapons of choice and to perform feats of many a jutsu using their weapon as the conduit rather than hand signs. The needles would collide with shield of fine hairs. Although they would be on par with one another cancelling each other out ultimately. Things were moving a bit ahead of schedule. He didn't think he'd back Nathaniel into a corner so soon but the preparations were almost complete. [4/6]

Capitalizing on his potential surprise the squid would not slow down as he continued to veer off his surroundings. It might not have seemed possible but he was getting even faster now.
