1) =Kite-ridE
This guy is da bomb. His style is so unique. It's like if Central American pop art wanted to be anime or something. And the thing is that his best work isn't even on deviantART! It's in his website: http://vinnieveritas.com/ (Um, if you don't know Spanish, you might get a little lost there.) His manga, CCC, is his most famous work. It's available only in his site and in Spanish. It's a creative, funny and very action-packed story. Alice in Wonderland meets a bizarre steampunk style. Unfortunately, he never got past Chapter 3 (to my dismay, but I remain hopeful). In DA, he's best know for his brilliantly fast paced flash animations. The deviation that convinced me to devwatch him is not available in DA anymore, but here it is in his site.
2) =AndrewDickman
If you don't know who Andy is, you deserve a swift kick in the somewheres for living under a silly cyber rock. Animations, comics, anthro, cartoons-- what HASN'T he done?! The thing that I admire the most about his work are the stories that go along with the illustrations. He has a fantastically creative mind and he's currently working on two cartoons-- one to hopefully come soon to television... and another that has had the privilege of appearing as a short in Nickelodeon. I can't wait 'till he becomes the next Craig McCracken. I'll be telling everyone "hey, I totally watched that guy on DA!! XD" Please visit his website. You have GOT to see his animations.
3) =Buuya
Okay, compared to the guys above, I haven't been watching her as long, but she really deserves to be mentioned because her art has really become an influence to mine. No one... and I mean NO ONE draws like her. Paints like her. ANYTHING like her. Her art just screams originality. As much as I like the look of anime, it's just so mundane-- it's a a copycat style. But what really impresses me are crazy, amazing styles I've never seen before, like Buuya's. My biggest inspiration coming from her are her comics. And I'm not just talking about the funny LOST and Heroes ones. I mean also the gritty, serious comics like The Colosseum. It's rocked my socks so much that I wanted to make a gritty comic with wacky characters, too.
