The books are always better than the movies.

I loved the books and the some of the movies where okay. The 5th one thou once I watched it I thought it was terrible. I started it and once I got a little into it, it was over, it made me want to watch barney all over again. They could do alot better if they really wanted to.

The thing with the Harry Potter books is that they are so fantastic that the films were bound to be on a completely different level. I still thought the films were great though, and they do have some amazing actors in them.
I thought the OOTF was a terrible film. TERRIBLE. A lot to do with the fact that Sirius was my favourite character throughout and imo, that film didn't do his death scene any justice. Pathetic. And some of the acting is really bad. I mean Daniel Radcliff can't act for s**t and he's the main bloody character. And Ginny and Hermione. Don't get me started on them. Hermoines acting was good in the first and second, then it just started to get worse and worse..

First two were awful, because they tried so hard to emulate the book they forgot they were making a movie that's supposed to be entertaining. Third was great. Fourth was meh. I'm not even going to bother with the others. Steve Kloves' crush on Emma Watson is pathetic.

i'm also a big fan of the series...

i completely agree with srester about the emtions of harry
regarding the death of his godfather...
coz in the book, when i'm imagining harry crying soo hard
it also made me cry but in the movie.. i think it was really really dissapointing...

1st and 2nd book were kinda little when i first saw it..
i'm not yet a keen observer during those times...

for the third...
i think it was just ok...

for the fourth...
well..i can't stand watching the scene where voldemort gained his body..
his face was really creepy and evil..

for the 5th..
well another ok i guess...

i like the books better than the movies coz i can imagine and see the scenes better...

I think that they truly butchered Chamber of Secrets because they left our Nearly-Headless Nick's Deathday party and whatnot.

I was upset about that too but you have to realize that movies are made to either draw in new fans or make money off the old ones. They couldn't include EVERYTHING from the book and since the death day party didn't play a large part of the overall plot, they cut it.

The last two were just terrible, with all the good bits missing.

The movies are getting more serious and dark, but are losing their luster whilst doing so, and this is coming from a Potter fan. I rather liked the magical sense the first movies gave, and now they all seem like a total drama in a way, you know?

I hate all of the lovey dovey-ness in the newest movie. It's annoying! That's not what Harry Potter is about.
