You just need to tell her. Techincally, lice like really clean hair because it's easier to grab the shaft of the hair. So tell her that it's good she keeps her hair really clean, but the lice like that too. And that you aren't being mean, but u are helping her. If she doesn't see that, she needs a wakeup call anyways. IT's mean to NOT tell her right away so she can get treated. Now everything in her house has to be treated, carpet, bedding, couches, etc.

Spot 14 Mystic_moon15 Spot 14 Mystic_moon15 Spot 14 Mystic_moon15 well thats easier to get rid of them then. long hair is like imposible. is it really? uh-oh..my friend has like, really super long hair sad but at least we no longer share a gym locker, and i definetly dont have it (i went out and bought/washed my hair in that shampoo anyway just in case, you can never be too safe ninja )i agree there. and since you treated it im assuming you didnt find anything bugs or knits. btw did you say anything today? nope, no bugs. i went through all my hair, and even had my stepmom go through it and we found nothing biggrin
and yeah, my friend emma went today...they made me so mad. Basically, the nurse told us that the girl that has it has to come down with a pass from the teacher, just to get checked. they wont even consider looking at her. and emma and i dont know how to tell her 'cause..how do you tell someone they have lice? really badly? and tomi's the type who would be too embarased to go down to the office, she'd rather just wait until someone forces her t get checked. and emma and i are worried that if we told her, she'd be mad (like, that defensive embarassed type of mad) so..i dont know. but we have a guidence appointment tomorrow, and they might do something besides blow it off stare its kinda for her own good even if she gets mad for a bit at least with it in the open she may do something about it. i cant say how to tell her on acount i dont know her buti think since your school is lame someone should do something.that is if your giudence councelor doesnt. yeah, i really hope that the guidence councelors do something..'cause i really dont want to be the one to break the news to her. and emma and i were thinking of reasons why she wouldnt know...because those bugs are HUGE..and you can literally see them crawling sometimes and ugh..i would think it's hard to miss confused well truth is she may not know how to treat it or something.(somepple dont, the first time me and my sis got it my mom had to look up in a book what it was) or maby she knows aand is afraid to tel her parents but if it as bad as you then her parents should already know. some people have trouble getting rid of it. that and the shampoo and stuff is expensive like $20 or more for 1-2 doses depending on hair length and thickness.

*response to lenorecat* yeah, it's just hard to tell people that to their face. i can understand how it'd embarass her and stuff confused
*response to mystic* she should know how to treat it, emma was telling me how she (my friend) had it before, and actually ended up giving it to emma. Emma also told me how her family's really close, so if she has it, her whole family has it (which is like 8 people) i'd hope they know..especially with younger kids being in the house confused
*response to kinkin*(this applies to everyone a bit too actually) today Emma and i went to the guidence councelor ('cause like i said the nurse wouldnt do anything stare ) and he asked her name and told us he'd call her down and refer her to the nurse biggrin that was early this morning, and she never told us anything about being called down but as far as i know she's been and everything, so hopefully now she should definetly know at least 3nodding (now hopefully she'll take immediate action to get it treated sweatdrop )

Well that's good that she is hopefully getting it treated.
When I was 8 (12 years ago) I had lice. I have to say it was one of the worst expperiences in my life. I don't know who I got it from but I had really long hair and when they found lice on me I had to get it cut really short. All of my sheets and things got taken away and I basically felt like I had some deadly disease. You need to be careful about how you talk with her about it but it definitely need to be taken care of.

and i was wondering..this is sort of a question for anyone...
How big are lice supposed to be? 'cause hers were pretty huge..and isn't it a bit easier to tell if you have it if you've had it before? Emma and i were wondering..'cause i mean how do you not notice in the shower, and when you brush your hair...and stuff. like i said those bugs were pretty big confused but nonetheless she's probably taking care of it by now biggrin

I really don't know...I was really young when the lady tried to tell my dad I had it, and plucked a bits of my hair out to show him (which hurt...not warning, at all!), but I didn't see anything... stare

ugh!!! OMG!! scream
Today, we got that guidence thingy (again, but different councelor) They called her down and sent her to the nurse. The nurse said she didnt find anything
I know damn well that's impossible, i have gym class with her, and i can see nits in her hair!! and yesterday emma and i both saw bugs in her hair! moving!!
so, all this crap was a waste of time, 'cause now we're just going to tell her on our own.
It makes it worse, because she still tries to be all close even after being accused of having lice.
and not to mention ('cause i was in the guidence office before she was, so i gave her the pass) and she asked me about why i was there. and just in conversation to see if she was going to at least admit to going to the nurse, she says
"they didnt want anything. the nurse just wanted something" and then changed the subject. i understand it's embarassing, but right after she said that she tried to put her head on my shoulder.
I know she knows, and all this contact is making me really mad now. there's no doubt she has some clue that she has lice...UGH!! scream scream scream scream

Wow...I wonder if that nurse should have her prescription checked, because if others can see little bugs moving around...especially other people and MORE THAN ONE, ugh...I swear people are getting less and less motivated about their work more and more.
Didn't the nurse do anything, like, 'Wash your hair this many times and with this kid of soap, just in case?"
I don't want to bash on your friend, but I feel very sorry for you, abouth er seemingly clueless-ness....

ugh tell me about it. the lady's older than dirt, i bet she needs her eyes checked...because we can see nits and everything.
nope. i guess she just told her something about her scalp condition (i guess she has some sort of dry skin too..idk)
it's cool, i'm getting very frustrated with her too. i mean, if i got called down and even asked about bugs in my hair, i wouldnt try to be near anyone. i wonder if she even knows it's incredibly easy to spread when you TOUCH people head to head and such confused ughhh i'll post later about what happens when we confront her...the school apparently doesnt care...and i'm getting grossed out and paranoid..it's time to end it once and for all. (well...take my(our) own steps to ending it)

If she has touched anything of yours .You will have to get some lice spray.Wash everything in the house. But, the only thing that kills lice is heat. Put everything in the dryer on high. Your hair brushes and stuff like that boil. Lice is a parasite. That has to have a host to live off of. I doesn't mean your dirty. But, if you keep your self clean your less likly to get them. wahmbulance

we had a pep rally today, and my friend Ashley and i were standing in the bleachers one row above tomi and emma, and i just happened to look at tomi's hair and thought i saw something like lint. I looked and it was this little brown bug crying that thing was not tiny either(picture the size of those stupid ants you see on the sidewalks...not the black ones)! and i KNOW it was a little lice-y guy gonk Even ashley saw it, because right when i caught myself unable to look away ashley nudged my arm and pointed to her head. we secretly told emma because we didnt want her to get it on her or ******** stupid a** nurse..she pisses me off evil

Is today like, pep rally day or something? That's three separate schools in one day... stare
And dang, Spot, I would NOT want to be in your position. I know you dearly care for your friend and all, but confronting her about lice is not going to be fun. Also, my tip is be careful and think out everything properly. SHe might put together her trip to the office and you, and get all offended, like 'Why didn't you just come to me int he first place?!' Make it clear if she does that that it was the least embarassing way you could think of.
I hope all goes well for you and your friends sweatdrop
