"Hey there Arthur..." Raskal said casualy. He walked over and pulled a chair out from the large sitting table opposite the boy and his would-be mentor on all things pokemon. "I hope I'm not interupting anything important." He sat down and leaned back, propping his feet up on the table and glancing around the room as though he wasn't at all worried about walking in unannounced on an old friend.

"Um... may I go now?" The young boy pleaded.

Suddenly the old man snapped out of his trance and stammered, "Y-yes... of course, you may go." He never took his eyes off of his new guest as the words left his mouth however, instead turning his look from one of surprise to one of stern concentration. As the boy exited the room, he loosed his building tension in one sudden outburst.

"What were you thinking coming back here after what you did! I was worried sick about you after that explosion! You don't call, you don't write, and all we get is a present for Sue and a note that says 'Don't worry'. How do you expect an old man like me not to worry!

Moments later, Raskal found himself waving goodbye to a tearful freckle-faced girl and her uncle. "They still don't suspect a thing," he said to himself as he turned to leave. They still called him Jace and didn't understand the link between him and Team Rocket. He wanted it that way though, the fewer people that knew the truth of it the better.

All the way through town he recalled the days he spent before leaving for Johto. The nights spent on the run, friends turned into enemies, unable to trust anyone until Arthur took him in. He was so lost in thought that the boy was startled by the "DING" of the sliding doors to the pokemon center once again for the second time that day.

The Kanto Region, home to the Indigo Plateu, and the region where the renowned Pokemon Professor, Professor Oak, began his journey as well. A region with a great land mass, a completely different adventure awaits new and experienced trainers, breeders and coordinators alike. Coming from the Hoenn region, a rather good looking boy of about eighteen years of age with blond hair styled with class, stepped out of the Pokemon Center of Vermilion City. He wore a dashing trainer's suit with an elegant white, blue and ice combination, and about him was a quite frightening aura of an experienced trainer...

"Come on, we don't got all day! You called for a battle, you got it!" called out a boy who was waving at him. A young trainer indeed, common to see, but very energetic. The boy led the handsome young man to a battle square, and then, rushed to a trainer box and took out a Pokeball - thus making a stand.

"Alright, alright," said the handsome young man as he, too made his way to the trainer box. He took a Pokeball from the belt bag strapped around his waist and enlarged it. "Ready when you are, Devin," he said, smiling to the other trainer.

The fight is on.

"The match between Devin Devon of Sandgem Town and Raine Royalblue of Sootopolis City will now begin!" exclaimed Nurse Joy, "I will be your judge and commentator for today, Nurse Joy of Vermilion City! The battle rules are simple, a one on one battle, each trainer will use one pokemon each. The first pokemon to knock out the other is the winner! Trainers, set... and,"

"CHANSEY!" cried out the Chansey.

"Rock it, Rhyperior!" called Devin.

The young boy, Devin, then threw his Pokeball towards the sky where it popped open, releasing a beautiful white stream of glowing matter. It then shaped itself into some Pokemon a few inches from the ground, and then, the ground shook.

"Rhyperiooor!" roared the gigantic Rhyperior.

"Dance, Staryu, Rapid Spin," then, called Raine.

Raine, the blond haired young man, threw his Pokeball towards the sky as well. It popped open, and the same white stream of matter shot out of the ball. It rolled in the air, and then, a spinning Staryu gained speed and height on the battlefield. The giant Rhyperior had a height advantage, though, with Staryu's speed, it could easily drive around Rhyperior and attack.

"YHEAH!" cried Staryu.

"Sending out a Rhyperior, Devin?" asked Raine... "Don't you think that it's a huge disadvantage on your part?"

"Of course, R," he replied, calling Raine by a nickname, "By now, you should know how I fight. It's rock-wreckin', mountain crushin' power that makes me win! Rhyperior, shoot it down with Stone Edge!"

"Rhyperior!" [Got it!] roared Rhyperior.

Rhyperior then dug it's claws into the ground. Unleashing it's power, it unearthed the battlefield, sending from tens to hundreds of rocks up into the air like fired rockets out of a missile turret. The attack was strong enough to bring Staryu down, but with that attack and Staryu's speed, would it be possible to hit it.

"-And we have a brilliant Stone Edge attack by Devin's Rhyperior! Strong and powerful, this one attack just might end this battle in one go! How will the legendary Raine Royalblue counter this attack?!" commented Nurse Joy.

"Staryu, Water Gun in Rapid Spin!" Raine claimed.

"Yhe-yheah!" [Of course,] responded Staryu.

Just then, Staryu was surrounded by spinning rings of water upon it's spinning motion. Like a shooting star, it zoomed past and destroyed incoming stones on its wake as the Water Gun acted as blades which sliced and cut off rocks that came at it. With the strong spinning motion, it caused the fan-like blades of the Water Gun to become a defense and, at the same time, a weapon.

"What?! No way!" cried Devin.

"Rhype!" [Oh!] uttered Rhyperior. Both Pokemon and trainer were surprised.

"Now, we have an amazing combination attack from combo-king Raine Royalblue and his Staryu! Using a move like that to inflict damage, as well as protect Staryu from any injury at the same time, is just marvelous! I would expect nothing less from this battle. Two Hoenn Grand Festival runner ups going head to head!" commented Nurse Joy.

"CHANSEY!" [Yay!] said Chansey.

"Then we'll just have to put on an 'Eel'-ectrifying show! Hahaha!" roared Devin as he made out a bad pun.

"Was that supposed to be a joke, D?" asked Raine, as he caught a slight hint as to where Devin was getting to.

"Didn't you hear me laugh, R?" answered Devin. When the Stone Edge was fully countered and with neither Pokemon taking the hit for it, Devin announced the next attack. With an energetic tone Devin called it. "Shockwave!"

"Staryu, Protect," countered Raine and Staryu.

Rhyperior stomped roughly on the ground and then braced itself as it gathered ions and electrical energy into its horns - which by information, would always act as a lightning rod. When it energy was enough, it sent it right out, a pulsating, surging wave of powerful electricity that would be enough to knock out the Water Type, Staryu, but, because it would take some time to charge, it allowed Staryu to stop spinning and prepare. A green bubble for a barrier was set up before Staryu. Staryu became veiled with the green Protect bubble, the attack was nullified.

"Nice! A sturdy Protect set up by Raine's Staryu. That lightning bolt would have had it, but thanks to Protect, it's still unharmed!" commented Nurse Joy.

"Scary Face!" ordered Devin.

Rhyperior then advanced at the slowly descending Staryu. It then pulled up a rather intimidating face before Staryu, surprising and startling it badly in battle. With that surprise, and no way to counter, Staryu froze and backed off a little.

"Staryu, axis rotation!" called Raine, but it was a bit too late.

"Hammer Arm!" again, ordered Devin.

"Rhyperior!" [Take this!] it roared, and in one blinding advance, Rhyperior struck a power-packed glowing punch right at Staryu, taking out a few of its arms, too. Staryu was thrown to the ground weak from a supposed one-hit-knock-out-strike!

"And Staryu is down!"" called Nurse Joy.

"Not yet! Look again," claimed Raine.

As all eyes fell on Staryu, the Star Pokemon quickly got up to its feet and with energy to boot! Staryu stood up proudly, seemingly unharmed. That is, all thanks to Recover which was a supportive move. Because of it, Staryu was able to quickly regain it's strength!

"Amazing!" yelled Nurse Joy, "An unbelievable come back - Staryu must've used its recover!

"Above Rhyperior!" ordered Raine.

In a flash, the seemingly weakened Staryu was gone. In the blink of an eye it had transfered itself above Rhyperior where it shaded it from the sun, it's bright red gem gleaming at the rock Pokemon, and with the sun's glare, blinding it in turn. With Staryu's top notch speed, it became possible to do this.

"Downpour, Water Pulse extravaganza!"

"Hyheah! [Go!] it cried.

"No way!" called Devin.

Before Rhyperior could even react, from above it, Staryu began spinning once more, and in one fell swoop, shot a pulsating stream of raging water from above Rhyperior like a great waterfall, thus flooding the area and completely covering the gigantic Rhyperior with a veil of water preventing others from seeing how bad it was suffering from the attack. The splash of the water shower could be heard even with all the noise around the battlefield. It was a strong attack.

With a loud thud to the ground, Rhyperior fell and fainted. The battle was over.

"And the winner, Raine Royalblue and his Starmie both from the Hoenn Region, Sootopolis Cty!" called Nurse Joy as she celebrated. "What a battle!"

A few moments later when both Pokemon have already been returned to their Pokeballs, Devin and Raine shook hands.

"That was a great battle. You ARE the master of Water Type Pokemon, R," he said, complementing Raine's strength.

"Well," said Raine, "I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with you on that one, D. You see, I have a lot to learn. If I hadn't used Staryu, we would probably be crushed. It was a lucky win," he said, looking as if he was excusing himself.

"Don't be too modest," Devin said, chuckling. "You'll become much stronger here in the Kanto Region, I know it. The popularity of Pokemon Contests here is low, and that's why it's most likely that a bulk of the more experienced trainers compete in it,"

"That's why we have to get stronger, you know," mused Raine.

"Well, looks like the months of traveling on the boat with you's finally over. I'm off," said Devin. "Where are you going then?" asked the young boy.

"I'm off to Pallet Town first. I would like to give the Professor a visit and inquire about a Pokedex upgrade," answered Raine.

"What for?" asked Devin again.

"Well, to record data of Pokemon of course, as well as have an easier access to my Pokemon back at home. I might miss my old team a little too much when I'm so far away from them," explained Raine, giggling.

"Tsch," grunted Devin, "Whatever you say, 'waterboy'. Hahahaha!" roared Devin as he walked away towards the next City north of Vermilion. After waving goodbye, Raine turned around and decided to go to the port again. The map he noticed posted at the Pokemon Center cork board shows that there's a sea route going from Vermilion City to Pallet Town, and he wanted to ask about it to see if there would be any other, more convenient routes to take than just walk there.

Then again, just to be sure, Raine made his way to the Pokemon Center again, just to ask Nurse Joy for a few more information regarding Kanto. He wouldn't want to get lost. Raine then entered the Pokemon Center, however, this time, instead of his eyes falling to the happy Nurse Joy by the counter, he caught notice of a certain somebody who was very jumpy, and seemed to jump as the Pokemon Center Doors dinged open.

"Excuse me?" Raine mused, a bit vocal, but really, he felt odd about the way the man was startled by a soft DING from the Pokemon Center.

Hitmonlee missed once again. Hitmonlee contracted his legs as small as he could before he let all the tension out and jumped at Blaziken. He raised his leg out as far as he could and aimed a Hi Jump Kick at Blaziken.

Hitmonchan's mega punch punched through the water jet and was going head on with the Floatzel "Chan!" [Take this!]

"Your a risky Fighter Al, I like a good opponent" kage said with a smirk.

"Wow what a battle!" Lilly exclaimed. Then she looked around to see a Gardivoir and Slowking sitting next to each other and watching the battle intently. " Star back in your pokeball i'll call on you again when i need to get to the PC." Lilly walked over to Gardivor and Slowking. "Wow, your one beautiful Gardivor." she said smiling. Then looking at Slowking she said," and your one handsome Slowking." She look at the battling trainers again and wondered out loud." and those two must be your trainers huh?"
