Tala nodded at the response. It was true, any amount of meat was helpful. With another pack member, they would have a good supply to last them until spring. It wasn't terribly far off now. Tala was most anxious for it. Spring was a time of new beginnings, of blooms and births and new life. She They would be prosperous come spring.
She turned her head then, catching sight of Sion. He'd taken his seat and seemed to be lost in his thoughts. Tala watched him a moment, nothing the little crease above his brow. It was barely visible, with his fur there, but she could see it. It was a sign of thinking, of wisdome. She had always known that the alpha had been more wise than he was tough, but perhaps that was why he led them so well. He was sensible instead of overbearing. Tala smiled to herself, then, having realized that her gaze had been fixed on Sion for too long, turned her eyes back toward the fire. The flames danced over her emerald eyes.

Tala lifted her paw and brushed her bangs out of her eyes. Her eyes wandered again, over the other wolves present. She knew there were others in the pack: an elder and other females, but she rarely saw them. just the four of them seemed a little lonely. There was no doubt that numbers were needed. Tala knew that they were each strong and would fight for their territory, but an army of ten or more wolves against their pack could mean disaster. Tala shook the thoughts from her head. She hated to think about an attack, about the danger that could come to her beloved pack at any moment. She loved her pack, they were everything to her: her family.
Finally, Tala's eyes fell once again upon Sion. She watched as the little wrinkle above his browed creased a bit deeper and it make her lips curl up into a little smile. She felt safe with Sion around, no matter his age or the size of the pack. She knew that Sion would fight for them if the time came, even if he knew he was outnumbered. That was all that Tala cared about. It wasn't about being the largest or the strongest pack, it was about knowing that you could trust and depend on all the other wolves who mae up your family.
A breeze came through then and took her hair up into it. Her dress fluttered slightly around her. the breeze wasn't as cold as it had been. Tala could feel the sun returning, however slowly, and it lifted her spirits. She longed for spring, and summer after it. With spring came new life, and new beginnings...
