Oops didn't realize it was a new page. Here we go.
Public restrooms are separated into two rooms for men and women. What if instead we had one restroom, twice as large, for both genders. There would be no urinals, just twice as many stalls and sinks. What do you think? Too weird? It would save resources and would reduce lines in the womens room when the mens was empty.

Hmmmm. I don't think a lot of people would be comfortable with that. Especially since guys can be really gross in the bathroom. (Not saying girls can't, just guys are usually worse.) It would also make it easier for a guy(s) to gang up on a girl and rape her. Not saying they already don't in a regular bathroom, I'm just saying it would be easier for them. And vice versa.
My opinion is against it.

We do have restrooms like that it's called the family restroom Its just a large room with one toilet and since
It's for people that have little kids or for people that need help
I've been in one with my friends before .. We just kinda sat in there for about an hour talking.
Those bathrooms are also used in some day cares The row of toilets that everyone uses.
Back when you're a toddler they let both genders go at the same time but when they get older they separate the genders.
It's not a good idea to let girls and boys use the same restroom as they get older because they get more curious about things...
its just.. not a good idea.. even if it saves resources.

We actually have restrooms like this at universities. Thats how I came up with it.
It does seem like it would be easier for one parent with children of both genders to take all of their kids to the bathroom at once. Little boys who don't want to go to the women's restroom with their mothers can be at risk from predators when they go into the mens room alone. And can a dad really take his four year old daughter into the men's room? Family restrooms aren't always available, and it would make this situation safer and easier.
I agree that middle schools and high schools shouldn't have restrooms like this, though. Everyone needs to reach an age of maturity before this is a good idea.

Oh no no no no. The men seeing the pads and tampons and... uhh... our private things... I say make the female's restrooms bigger and leave the men be. Females take so freaking long (I'm an exception, but my mom makes up for it. She takes around 10 minutes in a private home washroom, so imagine in a public one...) I say, make the females' ones bigger instead of a big one for both.

But the problem with that is there would be a bit of discrimination flag coming from guys since now we have a bigger bathroom. It's a good idea, but I'm thinking some people would call it sexist.

I honestly don't know that guys would care that much. It's quite clearly true that lines for female bathrooms are generally significantly longer. We take longer, for various reasons, and guys who interact with girls on a regular basis are perfectly aware of that. I'm thinking there would be that many men up in arms about it. I do think family bathrooms are very important if you are going to segregate. Parents need to take their kids, it's just a simple safety issue.

Yesh, I have something to say. I think family bathrooms are important too. But up to a age it is okay for a mom to bring her son in to a female bathroom, and a dad to do the same for his daughter. I don't say this often, but when I was little my dad did that for me.
Though I do not like the thought of a male and female bathroom in one, because men's bathrooms tend to be gross. I guess we'll never know, because I forgot.

Okay, maybe family, but not a big huge one for everyone.
And if guys mind if females' washroom are bigger, they need to get real, because it's more than clear that females, in general, take a whole lot of time doing stuff in the washroom.

Yesh, I have something to say. True. And I don't think they'll care anyways. They just go in to go to the bathroom and (sometimes) wash their hands. Besides, my friend was scarred for life because he saw a pad, do we really want them seeing that stuff anyway?
My sister saw this and here is what she had to say: Omg! Think about it, people could get raped!! I guess we'll never know, because I forgot.

How would a hygiene product scar you for life? A little girl going into the mens room with her dad could see a p***s. Now that would be scaring.
I don't really see how the men would see or hear the pads and tampons. There are still private stalls for everyone, with built in garbage cans for the trash. And is the sound of using a pad going to be audible over flushing, washing, and peeing? Is it even that bad? Theres always going to be some... unpleasant sounds in the bathroom, and most people are used to them.
