[Soquili Lands] A Vow Made Alone in the Night [link](Evening Night) May 28, 2006 A form was crotched low near the water crashing down onto the calm pool. There were smooth stones of different shades a little further down from the roaring water that the young native seemed to be gathering. The colorings intrigued her since she had never seen anything like them before.
She was a young woman who had seen many-many moons. One braided pigtail had fallen over her shoulder, the length almost down to her pelvis. It was rich black hair that shined in what little sunlight peeked through. Her skin was dark from being out in the heat and the sun. She looked up and her eyes were a sharp emerald color. She continued about her work, looking for one that she could shape into a small stone to hang about her neck.
A bright green one caught her eye and she snatched it out of the water. She moved a few feet away from the water where it was not so loud to her ears, but the coolness of the water would beat away the heat within the dense woods. She pulled out a stone knife and a long piece of leather she had wrapped about her waist. She cut the piece and began to wrap the small green pebble until it was held securely. She pulled the two ends about her neck and tied them together, creating a necklace.
She had chosen the color of the grass because her love had stated that it was his favorite color, the reason he had loved her so much. She smiled faintly to the memory knowing full well that he was still alive and well. She had seen him in her last dream wandering about near a lake looking for her and calling out her name. Yes, he was well and she would be as well in this new area. She moved further down the river and watched as the water became calmer, like life did after a difficult time. She looked up at the sky and paused a moment in thought, wondering if they would ever meet up again. She smiled to herself though, knowing he would be far too stubborn to give up on her and her dream had been an image of the past or the future yet to come.
She had walked several yards down the banks and finally took a rest upon a rock jutting out from the cool, calm water. She took a rest and looked up at the sky, feeling more secure that it was one thing she and her love shared.

[Teepee] First Meeting(Ever Sacrifice and Evening Night) August 15, 2006 Evening Night felt like she had stayed by the riverside for a whole season. She had moved about, hunting and staying alive, but was continually drawn to the water. It was an ever moving force in her new world and she knew that is was a central location to meet up with animals and people who were thirsty. She felt that if she lived near it, one day she would meet someone she truly loved. He was out there looking for her, but she hated feeling so alone in the world. She needed something to fill that void for the time being.
The sun was setting and at this time, a steady fog was slowly spreading from the coolness of the water over the hot ground. It was perfect for visions and she stared out with bright emerald eyes, creating a reunion scene in her head. The fog parted and a figure loomed out of the coming darkness, saying her name though it came to her like a whisper. But as soon as she looked up to see if it was who she had been waiting on, the vision faded and she was left alone with memories again.Soon, the fog really did part as a large creature made it's way on the other side of the river. Her mane and tail seemed to glow a bit in the moonlight but the rest of her seemed dark except for the bright white star on her forehead. She had white on her legs that gave an appearance of her floating, like a ghost.
Her light blue eyes spied a small figure huddled on a rock on the other side of the river. It seemed so small and she could sense that this thing was scared, sad, and lonely. She snorted a bit and made her way through the water carefully. She didn't know what to think of this thing. She had just come over the mountains on the other side and everything was new to her.She sat there horrified as this large thing came at her from the shadows. It moved like a ghost, walking steadily towards her and she was tempted to scream out in fear. She wasn't sure what is was, though it did resemble something she had been watching from afar for the last few months.
She had seen Soquili from a distant, she had never really ventured near them and they never came near her. She had been very content with just watching and learning their behaviors. They would appear to converse with one another but she had never been able to understand passed the nickering and neighing. But she still hoped that some day she would have one of her own like several of the others did.
But what was standing before her did not look like any of the Soquili she had seen so far. It was dark in the twilight and the figure seemed of an odd shape because of the fog. She threw up a hand to shield her face in case of attack, prepared for the worse. The mare nuzzled the Indian’s arm, nicking softly to let her know that it was alright. She was confused by her behavior, but it was understandable for her to fear something that loomed in the dark. She kept nudging the figure, wanting her to know it was all okay and that she wanted attention.Evening lowered her arm slowly and saw the long face of the mare with bright blue eyes that seemed to speak to her that she was friend. She fairly cried again, wrapping her arms around the mare's muzzle and kissing the velvety nose. She crooned softly to the stead, touching and making sure that all of it was real.
Here a Soquili stood before her. She didn't know what to say or think, it all seemed surreal to her. "Tell me that I'm dreaming. I would make every sacrifice for this to be true." She closed her eyes to stop the tears forming and overflowing. The flaxen red chestnut mare nudged her a bit as if saying, "It's all right. I'm here for you now. I won't leave you." She nickered softly, pawing at the ground a bit when she heard the phrase "every sacrifice." She slide her head from the girl's grasp and bobbed her head up and down as if trying to convey a message that wasn't getting through the two-legger.She looked at the mare, her emerald eyes shining brightly with a smile. This mare had come to her in the night and was behaving like she would always be there for her. "I think it's time you are given a name," she said softly, tapping a finger to her lower lip in thought. Nothing was coming to mind that could fit the beauty that stood on those four legs. She remembered how many nights she used to pray, saying she would make every sacrifice to have someone in her life again. Every sacrifice. "Ever Sacrifice. There, you have a name for yourself now." She stroked from the star on the mare's forehead all the way down to the velvety muzzle, whispering the mare's name softly.

[Teepee Roleplay] Where Has The Spirited Pale-Haired Maiden Gone?(Ever Sacrifice and Evening Night) October 2006 The night had been a very cold one, forcing Evening Night to light a fire inside to keep herself warm, but it did not keep much of the chill out and her hunting had come up poor for wolf and bear furs to use as blankets. She laid there coughing hoarsely, her dark hair messy halo around her head. She rolled over and curled up into a tighter ball trying to stay warm and watched the fire start to flicker down.
She was so tired and she wasn't sure if she had a chill or a fever. She would flash between the two so frequently and caused her to have a very restless night. She wasn't sure if she could even stand up on her own. She moved from the edge of her low pallet just as the rusty mustang mare poked her head into the large black and white teepee with the multicolored Soquili on the outside walls. Ever Sacrifice rushed over and lowered her head so Evening fell onto her neck instead of onto the cold hard ground.
Ever snorted and cast a worried look at her two-legger. She felt like the sun and cold water at the same time. That could not be good for her two-legger to feel that way. She nudged Evening Night back to her bed, nuzzling against her with a very concerned look. Her icy blue eyes looked at the fast dying fire and she turned tail to gather what she had seen the green-eyed girl gather the last few times she wandered with her in the forest.
She trotted out of into the woods, her flaxen mane and tail waving behind her like a shining banner on the wind. She came to the thicker portions of the forest and bent down, picking up sticks and bits of fallen wood in her mouth before making her way back to the teepee. She dropped them at the foot of the bed before trotting back out into the forest, still unsure of what she would do, but she had to do something. And she would for her two-legger.

[Teepee Roleplay] Knowledge is the Key(Ever Sacrifice) October 2006 Knowledge is the key to a more fulfilled life and one less threatening, or that was what Ever Sacrifice was thinking as one of the "healers" disappeared into Evening Night's teepee. She had done all that she could, but had to admit defeat. She didn't know that her two-legger needed to hunt and eat cooked meat, nor did she know how to put water in a bucket for the girl.
The "healer" had shooed her out like some stray cat, something foul that would be in the way. "The girl is near death, poor thing." Ever hung her head low, feeling like she had done a very terrible deed. She glanced back over her shoulder to her home before disappearing into the forest.

[Main Thread Roleplay] Spontaneous Roleplay(Ever Sacrifice and Delphia) October 23, 2006 The wind was blowing colder, able to send a shiver up any spine that was daring enough to venture against the gale. The leaves were at their bright shades of browns, oranges, yellows, and reds, clinging desperately to the trees they had lived with for most of the spring and summer. Very soon, winter would be right on top of the Kawani and Soquili that roamed the lands and few would venture if the temperature was ten degrees colder.
A bright red patch was seen weaving it's way among the trees, trying to avoid the biting wind and discover a sheltered spot for the time being. Her icy blue eyes were barely visible and she squinted to see through the harsh wind. Her flaxen mane and tail were billowing slightly out behind her, revealing the white star on her forehead. She snorted, shaking her head a bit to keep herself from a sudden sneeze.
And then, the wind died down and her forelock came back over her eyes. It was a little warmer here and she looked up to see a small space of sunshine between the clouds. It had been a very cold month and her heart was very empty. Her two-legger had been sick and the young girl would cry in her sleep. Ever Sacrifice didn't know what to do, but knew she needed to get away from the sadness that was infecting her own heart. She flopped down onto the ground to rest a bit and warm herself up from the cold and hopefully to warm her heart as well. [16082]Delphia was taking a stroll. The brisk wind didn't bother her much, as she had grown her winter coat already. It seemed that all of nature was preparing for a very severe winter. She had had a time keeping herself looking decent with her shaggy greyness. More than ever she resembled a raccoon, all fuzz and fluff.
The wind died down blessedly, leaving her to snort and shake random leaves out of her mane and tail. They showed up brightly against her grey hide and dark hair. Whimsically sh thought they made a rather festive decoration, but plucked them out nonetheless and resumed her walk.
Thus it was that she very nearly lierally stumbled over another soquili. She had been distracted with pulling a leave from the base of her mane and was not watching ahead as she should have been. Rounding a corner made by a massive boulder, she stopped just short of placing a hoof on the rump of a very red mare. She gave a startled squeal and stopped, shifting her weight backwards and placing her hoof back on the ground.
Immediately she was concerned. What was one of her kind doing out here, all alone, and laynig down? This was the time of year when wolves were more bold and ranged further into soquili lands. Didn't she know her danger? She nickered softly to the other mare. "Is something wrong, dear? Are you alright?" She moved beside her to nuzzle the younger mare to assess any damage. [16083]Ever had been daydreaming until she heard the mare speak. She had not even noticed that she had almost been stepped upon like a common rock by the mare. She moved her head and took in a surveying gaze over the raccoon colored mare. She looked very close to the creature's colorings with the black band over her chocolate brown eyes and the grey, white, and black markings tracing bands across her body.
She had never seen a raccoon before in her life, having live on the plateaus of her home for so long, but the color of her fur seemed very natural, though Ever didn't have a clue where they could have come from in the first place. She placed her front hooves beneath her and pushed herself up to stand, shaking a few loose leaves from her side. "I am fine. Just tired from playing nurse mare, but otherwise fine." She sniffed the air closely and took in no danger on the soft breeze. She tilted her head to one side, her icy blue eyes sparkling with curiousity. "I don't believe I have met you before." [16083]Delphia gave a relieved sigh as her companion lurched to her hooves. She tended to be a worrier when she thought someone was in trouble of any kind. Her ears perked then at the suggestion of introduction. "I don't believe we have met either. I am Delphia." She cast her gaze briefly skyward. "And somewhere around here is Jaden." She scanned the cloudy sky and then returned her eyes to the other mare with a shrug. "I'm sure he'll turn up sometime when we least expect it. He enjoys making a scene." [16085]Ever couldn't help but perk a brow up and glance at the sky herself. She saw nothing but clouds and very few spaces for where the sun was shining through. She didn't know what she would expect of this Jaden. She brought her thoughts back down to earth and offered a smile, though forced. "I am known as Ever Sacrifice, properly named by my two-legger. It is a pleasure to meet you, Delphia. I apologize if I made you worry over my condition. It's been a troubling month." [16085]
