Izzie stepped inside, suddenly feeling cold for some reason. "Oh, now I remember, that stupid Froslass, cursing me. That's why I need a Fire-type with me at all times. C'mere, Vulpix." Vulpix rushed to her and jumped into her arms.

B4 Professor Birch arrives, Kor introduces himself to Izzie.

Kor: "My name is Kor. Nice to meet you Izzie. So I'm guessing you are a pretty new Trainer by the way you forgot about your Sunkern and just ran from the Wingull.

I myself am the 5th Place Trainer in the Johto League Tournament of last year. My Ditto and 2 other PKMN placed 5th with ease. I guess I shouldn't've been so cocky and only used 3 PKMN _ sweatdrop . If I had used 6 PKMN, I might've won it, but the past is the past and I guess I'll just use 6 in the Hoenn League then."

When Birch arrive, Kor follows him in with the rest of the others.

Kor: "Professor Birch, it is so nice to meet you. You probably remember seeing me place 5th in the Johto League last year right?"

Prof. Birch: "Yes that was very impressive how you only used a Ditto and 2 other PKMN. Ya know you could've won it if you used 6."

Birch nodded at Izzie and then pointed to one of his computers at the other end of the lab. "Feel free to use that one, Izzie. And tell him I'll call him later to share research, please." Birch smiled, then turned towards the remaining three trainers. "So," he said with a smile, "I know you, Kor. And one of you must be Zane. So that just leaves one stranger."

Zane took a step forward and spoke, "I'm Zane. Its very nice to meet you Professor Birch." Zane then extended a hand for Birch to shake.

Birch denied the hand shake and laughed, "There's no need to be so formal, Zane, we're all friends here. So you can just call me Birch. Now if you wouldn't mind excusing us for a second, Kor and stranger, I'm just gonna get Zane started on his internship." Birch walked to his main desk, beckoning Zane to follow him.

"Alright," said Birch, pushing an untidy pile of papers off his unorganized desk, "now as you know, the pokedex was invented years ago by Professor Oak as a portable pokemon encyclopedia." Zane nodded. "However, since the pokedex's invention, the pokemon of the Hoenn region have undergone some changes. Many of the traditional behaviors of a species of pokemon have changed and many pokemon are now native to the Hoenn region which weren't at the time of the dex's creation." Zane gave another nod. "What I would like you to do is travel the region of Hoenn and study the behaviors of as many wild pokemon as possible and essentially write your own dex entries for each species. Don't get overwhelmed, though, as you're not the only person working on this project. There is me, a few other interns, some lab assistants, and, of course, you."

Zane smiled gain, "This sounds great. It'll be loads of fun. I can't wait to get started!"

Birch smiled, "Perfect. Then I'll get you started with everything you need for your journey. Do you have a pokemon, Zane?" Zane shook his head. "No worries, I have plenty of pokemon here that I can give you. The starter pokemon I give away are Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip. Would you like to see one of each?"

Zane shook his head again, "No, that's not necessary, I've already researched each of them. Thanks though. I'll have a Torchic if that's fine with you."

Birch laughed, "Of course its fine with me! I wouldn't have offered you a Torchic if it wasn't fine. Now excuse me while I go get you a pokedex and your very first pokemon." Birch walked off into the laboratory's back room.

Zane was filling with excitement. He was about to start his internship, he was about to start his journey across the Hoenn region, and most importantly, he was about to receive his very first pokemon. Birch returned with a pokedex in one hand and a poke ball in the other. "And there you are," said Birch as he handed each of them to Zane, "Good luck and I'll keep in contact with you....which reminds me, let's exchange Live Caster numbers." Zane pulled out his Live Caster and read his number to Birch. Birch then did the same. "How about at the end of each week you send me your list of dex entries you wrote. Sound good?"

Zane nodded excitedly, "Of course it does!" Zane then quickly walked to the front of the lab to meet his new pokemon. "Torchic, come on out and meet your new best friend!" Zane tapped the pokeball, which then opened up, sending out a Torchic. "Torchic! Tor!" Cried the Torchic excitedly as she hopped into Zane's arms. "Aww Torchic," Zane said affectionately, "we're going to have so much fun traveling together. I can't wait!" Torchic cheered.


As Zane was greeting his Torchic, Professor Birch walked over to the other Kor and Max ((and Izzie if she's done on the phone biggrin )), "Now, which one of you would like to go next?"

Izzie walked away to talk to Professor Oak on the console. After a few minutes of talking, she turned it off and returned to the other four people.

Max:"I Need Three Things,I Need a pokedex,
And I Well Want a Starter Pokemon,If I Can,I'd Like To Have a Bike."

Izzie, hearing Max's request, took out a Bike Voucher and handed it to him. "Here. I have four, and I don't need any of them. I prefer riding fast pokemon."
