i know for mine i'm going for the easy route about losing my mom and explaining the theme.

"This past July, i lost my mother due to stomach cancer. In her will, she asked that we, at her 'celebration of life,' as she put it, not wear funereal colors, but rather some pink or purple.

It is during this week that it will be 3 months since her passing. She is dancing in heaven, and i only felt it appropriate to start a group entry in memory of her. We seek not the fleeting victory, but rather that others celebrate life to its fullest.

And I have had a hell of a time myself, with the pink purple theme. Been working on it for a couple weeks now.. just can't find a good dress!!! or good bracelets.. the pinks dont match and I'm about to try the purples.

Thank you for changing the rules to let us include accent colors. That will probably save me x)

That sounds like a good idea Asher. My mom is a cancer survivor but I have lost two uncles within the past 5 years to it. I think most of us have someone that is either family or an acquaintance with a similar story.
