I love the Harry Potter books, but I`ve never read Percy Jackson! I`ve only seen the movie! whee
But, you should read The Hunger Games trilogy! It`s amazing!& it was soo popular their making it a movie in 2011, so I`m suuuper excited! x)
You should definitely read them!

The Perfect Cut by Julie Burtinshaw After the death of his tough, guitar-playing, much-loved sister, Michelle, Brian finds it increasingly difficult to care about anything. He doesn’t care about his parents. He doesn’t care about his friends. He doesn’t care about school. He just doesn’t care anymore. The only time Brian comes alive is in the few seconds it takes for the razor to slice through his skin. But he never cuts deep enough to cause any real damage. At least, not yet... In The Perfect Cut, Julie Burtinshaw has written an incredibly honest and perceptive novel about cutting, revealing why this dangerous practice has become an increasingly common form of stress relief among young adults. Told from the perspective of the grief-stricken Brian who, in his mind, has run out of options for coping, it’s clear that while he makes some bad choices, he’s not a bad person. The book ends on a grace note, reassuring young readers that even terrible obstacles can be overcome, and that where there’s life, there is hope. The Books Site.

Definitely the following:
- Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett - Charlie Bone Series (similar to a mix of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and X-men in England) - Stardust by Neil Gaiman - Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr - Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust annnd - Elfquest. Not really books, but amazing graphic novels nonetheless.

They're very good. I like May Bird and the Ever After and its sequels. There's also the Charlie Bone books. They're kinda like Harry Potter.

My favorite books are The Great Gatsby, The Outsiders, and the Series of Unfortunate Events. They're not really similar to Harry Potter, but they're still good reads.

From the types of book's you've listed, I would suggest reading 'Eragon'. The book is quite large, but it draws you in completely.

I might be of some help because i tend to read a lot of books at one time...here are my suggestions: URBAN FICTION: *The Mercy Thompson series[werewolves, shape shifters(MC), vamps...and Fae folk] *Holly black(author) her books are-Tithe--Valiant---and---Ironside this series deals with changelings(1st one) and faeries(none as nice as tinker bell) *Beastly -urban twist on beauty and the beast SCI-FI * Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy you could just read the first..or read the whole "trilogy"(there's 6) OTHER FICTION *Chronicles of Narnia(if you haven't already read this you should read the whole series THAN watch the movies) *Wicked its about the wicked witch of the west from Wizard of Oz...her side...REALLY GOOD, so good they made a musical! *Golden Compass/Subtle Knife/Amber Spyglass(His Dark Materials series) really good *Coraline if you've seen the movie you should really read this..its even darker..but good *Dan Brown's novels ...if your into thrillers and historical puzzles... * Sigma Force Series...secret government group of scientists with guns( and visa verse) * LOTR: A MUST READ FOR EVERY FANTASY READER!!! UM I think thats all I can think of right now.... mrgreen ninja 4laugh
