A lot of my ideas for them came about through a lot of my role plays. *poor guy playing Rod had no idea that in my head I was actually seeing this as a ship XD*
I have always thought of Rabastan as a very vain and well kept man. Who's worse then women like Narcissa in his vanity and demeanor. He's also very violent and borderline bi-polar in my mind in contrast to Rod, who's very calm and very laid back. Rod as any pure blood (you know..those kind of pure bloods), also takes great care in his appearance. But his younger brother *i imagine* get's on his nerves. I pictured Rod as the serious one as well, he's the one who settled down and got married, and he'd probably be the one who truly takes the Dark Lord seriously and often has to apologize for his brother's insubordinate behavior. (Always pictured Bastan as a guy who didn't really care about anything, he would believe that as the Dark Lord's favorites, that he wouldn't even think of punishing them for anything).
I also tend to throw Bellatrix into the mix, sometimes, having her destroy the brotherly bond that the two of them have, by having her as this dominating force in bother their lives. Playing them against each other for fun by sleeping with them both and then letting Rodolphus find out.
It's all so very strange the way I imagine them, and probably far from what Rowling really ever wanted. XD
o~O
How about you? -curious to know what someone else thinks about them-

Rodolphus is older. Kind of stuffy, kind of dull, easy to get walked on. His marriage with Bella was arranged, and while he puts up with her crap he's really not fond of her. He's always mildly annoyed, but rarely actually starts a fight, preferring to mutter under his breath rather than rock the boat.
Rabastan is younger, dependent on Rodolphus but bitter about it. He wants to be his own person, and that makes him over eager with a cruel streak, and easy to upset. He lashes out easily and only his brother can really keep him calm. He hates Bella, thinks she's no good for his brother and she has far too much fun taunting him into a rage.
So amazingly, not TOO different from yours really.

silverdreams92 [Ren The Ryoko] silverdreams92 The only incestuous that I actively ship is Fred/George. I read an adorable fanfiction for them once, and I've had a soft spot for the pairing ever since. XD They are adorable. OH god, and when Fred dies? SO tragic. I know. Fred's death broke my heart. I don't cry easily, but... damn. I can hardly even think of George without Fred. gonk
God, it just breaks my damn heart. He's never the same after that you know? A joke without a punchline. Fred was always the bolder, brasher of the two. George would just be so lost without him.
