Xeno was walking down the hall, yawning because he just woken up, when he noticed Amaya coming towards him. "Hey Amaya, have you seen Ashes anywhere?" he asked in a drowsy manner. The other night Ashes was bugging Xeno about how he built his twin pistols, like what material it is made out of and what caliber they were.

As she now looked up from her notes, Amaya spotted Xeno and smiled a little. "Um, I think I heard some guns going off in the firing range. But I'm pretty sure she was yelling, so you may want to give her time to cool down first." She told him as she tapped her chin with a pen.

Xeno looked a bit disappointed, "Darn, and I wanted to get a few shots off before I eat. Oh well. Say, what are all those notes for?" he asked noticing the notes that she was carrying.

"I'm bored!" Ashes whined, going through her collection of weapons. She was out of spare parts for now, so she couldn't make any more - that made for a bored Ashes. She sighed, staring at the targets. After a moment, she grabbed a pistol, taking it over to the range. Rapidly, she fired several bullets, hitting the bullseye each time. Her eyes watched the door for a moment, wishing that someone would show up...

And I want to be a part of that fire.

Blushing slightly as Xeno asked about the notes, she pulled them up. "Well I was going to bring them to the leader. I've notice over the last few years that the top three delta systems have increased in strength in both arms steadily. But Omega has increased significantly in just her right arm. The left has remained at the same level that she was at when she was twelve. It makes me think something happened not too long after I left. I'd like to investigate it closer, and I've come up with a way to catch Omega and keep the rest of the delta systems from knowing her location long enough to investigate. If I'm right, she suffered a significant injury and if it was significant enough, all threat could be reduced to just her right arm, and I was trained in how to subdue her, obviously. Sorry, I'm just talking too much again..." She told him, seeming to calm down once she realized how long she'd gone on.

"Oh, no. It's quite all right," He said, "I think I understood most of it." He heard gunshots coming from the range. Despite knowing that Ashes was there, and most likely angry, he wanted to shoot at a target dummy more and more. "I'm sorry Amaya, but I must go." He started to walk away, "Good luck trying to figure out how to capture Omega." He left her to go to the shooting range. On the way he kept thinking how suicidal this was going to be, but he didn't care. He got to the door of the shooting range and sighed as he saw Ashes shooting her gun. I hope she doesn't ask about them, he thought. "Hey, Ashes, mind if I shoot with you?"

Ashes grinned as she saw Xeno walking into the shooting range. "Good. A person. I'm bored. Oh! Even better, Xeno." A mischievous grin crossed her face as the girl turned to look at the male. "You can shoot with me if you'll have a little game with me. If I win, I get to look at your guns, and you tell me everything you know about them. If I lose, you can use any one of my safe, already tested prototypes you want - for an entire week." Her eyes had a fire in them that only a competitive girl could have. "It would be a points shooting round. Each of us uses a new practice sheet of paper - ten points given for each bullseye, the points going down by one each ring you go away from the bullseye. Oh, and if you manage to tie with me, you win. Got it?" The girl seemed oddly bright, but nearly everyone knew that she hated losing. "If you want a slight handicap, it'll cost you five points to start, but I'll use my left hand."

And I want to be a part of that fire.

((the first thing that came to my head after I read your post was, 'My name is Inigo Mantoyo, you killed my Father, prepare to die.' Just because you mentioned using just your left hand.))

Xeno considered this for a second, "How many bullets would we use?" he asked. He figured it would be either best out of X number of shots or something similar.

((would we use a post action?))

[-yes, we would. And the correct statement would be: Hello, My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die. You forgot the hello. I'm trying to figure out what the odds would be if he didn't take the handicap for Ash...as she tends to make more shots, and she is the weapons specialist...you should have him take the handicap so that I don't have to think about it.-]

Ashriel grinned at Xeno's question. "Ten." She answered, her eyes looking at him with a fiery glimmer. She was certain that she was going to win. Actually, she'd never lost one of these, but if she did...who knew how the fiery teen would react.

And I want to be a part of that fire.

((I don't remember the hello part, but, in my defense, I haven't seen the movie in a few years.))

"Okay, two more questions," He said, taking out his twin pistols, "How far is the target going to be, and do you mind if I fire five rounds from each gun?" He knew that she was his equal in pistols, but she was better with every other gun, which was why he didn't go for the weapon master position.

Ashes thought for a moment, looking at the length of the range before grinning. "Twenty feet." That wasn't the entire range, but it wasn't close-range shooting, either. "And you can do that if you want." She looked at him with a grin, her hands holding her own pistol easily. "So, handicap or no handicap?" She asked, thinking about the ten point cost to him.

And I want to be a part of that fire.

"No handicap," He said. He put a new sheet on the the line and put it out twenty feet. "Ready whenever you are." He aimed his golden gun.

[-I'm going to assume that he's gotten enough practice with the pistol to be just as good as Ashes. So. Roll 10 10-sided dice-]

Ashes grinned, setting herself up to shoot. She shot rapid fire, not stopping to aim between shots. Perhaps that would throw her off? Ah, well, she wanted a challenge.

And I want to be a part of that fire.

Xeno fired five shots in rapid succession with Sol in his right hand, then he switched hands using his silver gun, Luna. He quickly aimed then did the same thing. I hope that's good enough, he thought without looking at Ashes sheet.

Ashes grinned as she saw her results. At least she'd gotten one bullseye. She turned to look at Xeno's sheet, and couldn't help but laugh. "I believe I've won. And I believe that you need a lot more practice." She said with a smirk, looking at Xeno.
